  • @ChiroQuacker well that was a pleasant comment that everyone needed to read.

  • @ChiroQuacker You are one of the most shockingly racist people I have ever met on and off line

  • @ChiroQuacker you literally don't deserve to live on this planet, you are one massive scumbag.

  • @ChiroQuacker Yes, thanks very much, I'm 12. >: (

  • Thank you Lord for the gift of George Harrison!

  • I hear this song everyday in my job.

It inspires me to just step it up and and just do it!

I work my ass off everyday and ..this music helps me !!!

  • @KellyGiftShop the song is about God not productivity in the proletariat!

  • with songs of this quality it really was "here comes the sun" when George got to work-much missed by your fans

  • lol at 2:26 :D

Oh George. You truly do deserve more recognition...

  • This many years later (1991) he could still do it as good or better than when he first did it. It's my favorite of his too, by far. He was the Coolest beatle too. No wonder he did some guru stuff because "LIFE" proves he could really rock when he wanted too. That song moves like a fast bluegrass tune and hard to play and keep up. It was Beatles quality, they didn't do this one at the tribute concert, bad as you wanted to hear it I think it's just too hard for anyone else to play 1/2 as good!

  • I wish that I had the good fortune of having seen George Harrison in concert. All those who have seen him perform live are so lucky, and I hope they cherish those memories.

  • terrible quality.if you're going to upload songs from one of the gods of rock n roll, at least get the fuckin sound right you donut

  • ... What - IS - Life ... P.S. The song - "I WANT MONEY" - Is NOT By Yoko Ono. Every One has been giving false credit to Yoko Ono the past 30-some years but, ti's BY - THE FLYING LIZARDS. i Love Yoko Ono but, giving False names just to sound like you know what you're talking about is probably why THE FLYING LIZARDS had no long career and probably went broke just because of all the people running to the Yoko Ono sections on a Wild Goose Chase. GET IT RIGHT, people.

  • ... What - IZ - Life ... is the song title

  • I remember hearing this song as a child... Back in the late 70's. It wasn't until the movie Goodfellas that I had heard it again. The scene where Ray Loitas character is being followed by the helicopter. It really fit the scene well... From there I rediscovered George again... Rip Georege.

  • @gggallant Yes, Martin Scorcese was and is a big George Harrison fan. That's why he included the song in Goodfellas and made a documentary movie about George.

  • @observer9670 I didn't he made a documentary about Harrison... What's it called?

  • "Living In The Material World: George Harrison". It will premiere on HBO in the U.S. and the BBC in the U.K. in October 2011. I would assume there will also be a DVD release within a few months after that. Paul and Ringo are among the interviewees along with Willburys Tom Petty and Jeff Lynne. And of course Olivia, Dhani and Eric Clapton.

  • Love The Elvis move at 2:24 Get down Georgee O Boogie!!

  • First, the cameraman who shot this was out of focus. Second, He needed to focus on George. Third, George, Not Bad.

  • @kja427 Shut up, just be glad someone's filmed this masterpiece!

  • Man, who would have thought that George would be the first Beatle to put out an all time classic solo album with All Things Must Pass. Great great song.

  • this shows you how good george is when he has an awesome backing band

    like Eric and the boys

  • We miss you sooo much.

  • god bless you george

  • My band Chandrama just posted a video on our channel, a cover of George's "It's All Too Much" with sitars and things on it, and sung in Nepali. The Beatle's organization was super easy to deal with on the licensing approval. We hope George would have approved. You can see it on our channel, and please do.

  • One of my favorite parts of Goodfellas was when this song was played.

  • One of the most amazing songs I've ever heard.

  • George Harrison is an incredible artist and this song hits my soul... Just shows me the importance of having a soulmate and how they can make your life so much better a true message of the value of others in making us enjoy our waking life... thank you George for teaching me and others this lesson...Great Inspirational Song

  • @msrebel54 I believe his lyrics have a double meaning. He could talking about God or he could be talking about Olivia, depending on whatever mood he's in. He did that with a lot of his songs... Take Long, Long, Long (White Album Disc 2 1968) for example. There is little distinction between his love and his lord.

  • @sweetmelissa794 He hadnt met Olivia yet, he was sing to the Lord

  • @sweetmelissa794 He hadnt met Olivia yet when he wrote this song, he was singn to the Lord.

  • "Tell me what is life like, without your love, tell me who am I without you by my side" - Who exactly is he talking about here? Think about it for a minute. Was it anyone in particular, or someone in general? I wonder.

  • what kind of wierd genuis was this guy? this is NOT just music..this is somekind of sugar-coated mystical meditation PRETENDING TO BE MUSIC!!!!!!

  • @roman14032 my troll-o-meter smells a super-duper-humongous-stupid-idiot troll hanging around. Why the hell people insist in stupid, non-educated opinions, if they don't like an artist! Go somewhere else you ans say whatever you want!!

  • He is my sweet lord.

  • Dear TigerRocket , One of the Greatest riffs ever ? PLEASE ! ! Its a descending scale ! Effective ? Yes , Greatest ? , not in a month of Sundays ? Better .......Paperback Writer , Badge ( Cream played by George ) Its a long list with this one in the bottom half !

  • @bjl257 Oh, quit being a technical git, and just rock out. It's only Rock N' Roll, man.

  • @bjl257 You must be kidding. Music is not a contest. My enthusiasm isn't a judgment, it's my opinion. Seriously, it's a kick ass hook. There are hundreds of great licks in all kinds of music. This happens to be one of them.

  • George did pretty good here considering he was in chemo at the time and his producer for this 'wall of sound' piece was about to become cell mate to Manson at Corcoran State Prison. Live on George!

  • @dtappel - He wasn't in chemo around that time, that started in 1997! He naturally sounds AWFUL!

  • after all , we love George.

  • WHAT IS LIFE WITHOUT YOU, GEORGE? IT'LL NEVER BE THE SAME. HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

  • He sounds amazing preforming live!!

  • watch?v=46CNp89_52Y

  • 2:26 george danciingggg so awesomeeee and funny :) i really really want a original dvd of the concert

  • it's What IS life not What IT'S life

  • @beatlesgirl3 Not in Japarese.

  • George... 9 years are too much without you :'(

  • Let's face it...If this wasn't an ex- Beatle NOBODY would be bothered to see this vid.

  • @RealCubanCheGuevara And you have a point hidden somewhere other than under your hat?

  • @RealCubanCheGuevara This happens to be an extraordinary song, no matter if his author is an ex-Beatle or not.

  • God his voice aged more than I realised...listening to him here and in the wilburys you'd ALMOST think it were a different person singing in comparison to the original...

  • I cant beleive the video comapny didnt consider this amazingness good enough to reelase on video and DVD! RIP George- u were one of the best

  • ahem... the song's title is "what IS life."

  • It's all so , so predictable! There's no room for any improvisation at all. SO boring.

  • @CubanCheInFidel as this song was rarely performed even BEFORE George retired from touring and died, it was a wise decision NOT to mess with it in any way whatsoever.....

  • @CubanCheInFidel It's one of those strange things called a SONG - a well-composed piece of music played over a distinctive riff and with nice lyrics. There's no need for improvisation, it stands as it is and it certainly isn't boring.

  • @CubanCheInFidel: It's all so, so predicable! CHICKEN, when you were challenged OVER A MONTH AGO to produce a brief essay on the guitar technique and music theory to back up your chicken poop, you panicked. You squawked. You tried to change the subject. You turned on Cooder, whom you previously championed. You then claimed, laughably, that since "children" can now "play like Clapton," guitar is no longer relevant. TRANS: Flghtwolf is in full, terrified retreat, a one-bird-CHICKEN RUN.

  • @MrAngemystere - Who da fuck is CheInFidel? Is that one of your accounts? Again speaking to yourself, Blank? That ain't a good sign, Blank....

  • @RealCubanCheGuevara:

CHICKEN, the only "account" you are capable of is falsehood. The only "account" that interests us is your missing essay on guitar technique and theory, the one "sign" indicating even the faintest hope of suggesting knowledge on your part, from which you have suitably, predictably, and demonstrably sought to flee, squawking as befits the bird-brained CHICKEN you are. "Blank" and "speaking to yourself" sums up your daily regimen: "That ain't a good sign," CHICKEN.

  • @MrAngemystere - By Krishna! The only essay I know is I say! Puck, puck, puck! , besides it's Stephen HAWKING, not SQUAWKING!

  • @MrAngemystere - Hey grammar boy! What is predicable? LOL! Typing error? Man, you make a lot of them.

  • @RealCubanCheGuevara:

What is "predictable," fuckwit, is your attempt to disguise your illiteracy by claiming that "typing errors" got the best of you. Indeed, your entire oeuvre is one big vulgar, disgusting "typing error," redolent of an especially stupid high school dropout's worst efforts. Another troll, and this one fashioned on your pedo-pal, the CHICKEN'S, trolls. "Man, you make a lot of them." Fuckwit.

  • @MrAngemystere Oh great! More never has been never will be musicians calling each other out on youtube. So refreshing. Get a life and a job.

  • @kurtizzyflush he can't; he's in a nursing home stuck in a wheelchair wearing Huggies.

  • @CubanCheInFidel: Now TwoUselessLegs, WHERE IS THAT ESSAY? This was your big chance to demonstrate that you were something more than an uneducated, cyber-stalking, bigoted, unemployed, musically illiterate, Harrison-hating, loser, one practiced in the fine art of living with Mommy and trolling 24/7 out of her basement.

And what do you do? You screwed the COOP, CHICKEN!

From thread to thread, contributors are skewering you as if you were, well, a CHICKEN kabob. Squawk CHICKEN squawk!

  • @CubanCheInFidel Kinda like you life in general General?

  • great concert. release it!!

  • (L)

  • I wish Warner Bros Company. would release the full film- they filmed the tour but never released it sadly

  • a bit blurry

  • Little sloppy with the camera filming the ceiling. Anywho, I recall David Gilmour wanting to follow in George Harrison's footsteps with plans to retire and enjoy a small garden at their home rather then the touring and recording year after year, but luckily Dave opted to play more for his fans!!

  • THE BAND: * George Harrison - lead and slide guitar, acoustic guitar, lead vocals * Eric Clapton - lead guitar, vocals * Andy Fairweather-Low - guitar, backing vocals * Nathan East - bass, backing vocals * Greg Phillinganes - keyboards, hammond organ, backing vocals * Chuck Leavell - piano, keyboards * Steve Ferrone - drums * Ray Cooper - percussion * Katie Kissoon - background vocals * Tessa Niles - background vocals

  • George proved he could "clapton" with the best of them

  • Comment removed

  • @QueenBeatlesWings white album or after the beatles broke up?

  • two gods one stage man i wish i was there Rip George Harrison Ec keep on going

  • was George sick at this point, he sounds weak, in fact the whole show sounds off a bit, like there's no spark..George's voice sounds like he is struggling..Glad he had his friend Eric by his side to inspire him.

  • Comment removed

  • Thank you very much.

  • As much as I loved George,I wish he hadn't been such a "stiff" about touring in the US,especially with E.C. during this time. Now he's gone...,at least we can see videos of him...,

  • @xtremenortherner

I too wish GH wasn't a stiff about hitting the US with this band because it would have been a success. That said I heard the only reason he played this "one-off" tour in Japan was because he was in a cash flow crunch due t the fact his busines partner had just ripped him off. He hated touring but needed the money. That said if Roy had not passed I truly believe GH would at some point have toured with the Wilburys.

  • i agree george really is one of a kind and with his landmark concert for bangladesh he stamped himself as one of the music icons, by promoting charity through music. it was george harrison before bob geldof and there came oral rehydrating solution to treat epidemic disease and the united nations acknowledeged that

  • George backed by Clapton and his band at the time - one of the best tracks on what, I believe, was the best of the post-Beatle solo albums (i.e., "All Things Must Pass - heavy title, no?) - w/ the possible exception of Lennon's "Plastic Ono Band". Hard to believe that he was the 3rd songwriter in that band !?!

  • the guy playing the keyboards is digging it.

  • YAWHATEVERLOGMEIN: Hi:) i Noticed that too. I love when they get into it.

    HAPPY HOLIDAYS

    jd

  • @yawhateverlogmein that would be Chuck Leavell - he did piano and keyboards

  • Although George released a good many terrific songs in his post-Beatles years, this one was always my favorite.

  • Amen!

  • george exuded enlightenment, we are blessed for having his soul bless this world with his creativity.. his essence i still felt today.

  • I always love George.

Also the beautiful music that he made....

  • It's "what Is Life" dummy

  • Actually, the W is capitalized, and it's spelled "dumby", dumby.

  • Actually its not. IDK its weird but you're wrong.

  • didn't Eric Clapton steal George Harrison's wife???

  • That's true... But they stayed friends..

  • oh i didnt know that.

  • Yeah, Eric used to joke that they were "husbands in law".

  • lol at least george took it lightly

  • Yeah, George was one of a kind. I don't think he let things get to him really. But then again, every time I've ever seen him interviewed and all the person wants to talk about is the Beatles, I sense a little irritation from George. He was so much more than a Beatle.

  • he was more than beatle or a Musician, he was way beyond that and i don't think people realized that until he played by himself instead of with beatles.

  • I believe George was the only Beatle who achieved any level of enlightenment. Don't take that as a dis of Paul or John (or Ringo) because clearly they are legends in their own right. I just think George found "it". I agree oribitspace, the only way George could be noted was to distance himself from the others.

  • Well, John WAS an atheist. xD He obviously found no enlightenment.

  • I wasn't aware that John was an atheist, so I'll add that to my useful Beatles trivia depository. I don't believe enlightement necessarily needs a religious/god component though. I think of enlightenment as a result of inner peace in spite of the forces that act on us externally. So, John may have achieved enlightenment.

  • He's not an atheist. I don't know where that came from.

  • John Lennon was not an atheist. He thought of God differently than other people do, but he was not an atheist.

  • @MrsUchihaSasuke123

John was not an atheist. He didnt care for organized religion but that doesnt mean someone is an atheist.

  • @MrsUchihaSasuke123 look up the john lennon nyc pics he wereing a cross neckless he did belive in god

  • @nano952 he believed in god in his own way

  • @MrsUchihaSasuke123 No, John WASN'T an atheist; like me, he was a NON-THEIST.....

  • @minkymott Naah Eric didn't have the witt George had..it was George who introduced himself as husband in law at Eric&Patties wedding

  • @rpandey17 Thanks for pointing that out. I thought it was the other way around.

  • who is playing in the band besides George, Clapton and Ray Cooper?

  • It looks like Andy Fairweather-Low on guitar and Nathan East on bass. I can't quite make out the drummer, but it was probably Steve Ferrone as he was Eric's tour band drummer at the time.

  • @sundaramaji * George Harrison - lead and slide guitar, acoustic guitar, lead vocals * Eric Clapton - lead guitar, vocals * Andy Fairweather-Low - guitar, backing vocals * Nathan East - bass, backing vocals * Greg Phillinganes - keyboards, hammond organ, backing vocals * Chuck Leavell - piano, keyboards * Steve Ferrone - drums * Ray Cooper - percussion * Katie Kissoon - background vocals * Tessa Niles - background vocals

  • my favourite song

    excellent artist, singer and songwriter.

  • all four great together all four great alone. much love

  • This would be such an expensive ticket...

  • no one can make such a lovely song except GEORGE!!!

    Miss him so much!!!!!

  • Poor George, his business partner looted him so much he had to do this tour to get up quick cash. If he was music minded he woulda done 1 show in the U.S. & the U.K.. He didn't.

  • You need to clean the excrement from your ears.

  • I see the cameraman's drugs kicked in at 2:40. And what's with that annoying background clapping? Why do we need to see the Clapper? ; ) Still, pretty good guitars.

  • I think David Lynch just offered to film the second half

  • great song. very underrated

  • Te amo George!!!!!!!!!!

  • This has got to be one of the greatest riffs ever written. George was amazing.

  • @TigerRocket there is an amazing gift in economy and simplicity of these "evergreens" as Clapton called them..the simplist riffs are sometimes the greatest..riffs like "Satisfaction" "My Sharona" "Whole Lotta Love" all simple but very effective and memorable..

  • Thank you for posting this talented Beatle

  • Grande George!!!!!!!!!

  • This is a totally awesome performance. It definitely gives me inspiration to write some jivin' songs. Like George's little lickety split dancing bit at 2:28.

  • awesooooooooooooomeeeeeeeee
