I went and I did just as good as all my other richer friend. And, why shouldn't everybody else be entitled to higher education. My mom says not everyone can do it, or afford it. But why not. I will make that possible. I have learned to be a teacher and not a student. As long as I can get a days worth living, I will provide the same (or close) services that schools of higher education do. That will be my sacrifice. Set the examples, and people will follow. Not me, but my ideals.

Actually the inefficiencies I speak of are discussed wildly among capitalist economists, like Joseph Stiglitz and others. Markets are not efficient. I've done a video on this with lots of great links in the sidebar. Even Alan Greenspan, a long-time market advocate, has admitted this now. This isn't socialist rhetoric anymore; these are capitalist economists saying this and the real world is proving them right again and again. Markets are not efficient.

Forget the Manifesto. Marx's main body of work was Das Kapital. And his analysis of Capitalism and how it exploits and alienates workers is as relevant today as it was when he wrote it. It's not an easy read but if you want to understand capitalism, there's no better source. If you want to understand Marx you have to get beyond the manifesto. Then you might begin to understand what he was really talking about.
I agree that exploitations exist, but again, the idea of capitalism is that of nature. One person competes with another to have more things, as animals compete to survive. I said before that communism is a great idea (only hypothetically) but hypothetically doesn't matter in the real world. I can't spend my time trying to figure out how to do something that can't be done. I like to focus on reality...
I don't know why you speak hypothetically. We've seen the ideas of anarcho-communism played out in Spain of the 1930s. With millions of people participating across the country we saw farm yields increase, productivity increase, in fact by any standard you could think of the society improved all while fighting off the greatest powers of the world. If you are really serious about changing the world then you own it to yourself and to humanity to actually engage with Avakian, and the RCP. I went and I did just as good as all my other richer friend. And, why shouldn't everybody else be entitled to higher education. My mom says not everyone can do it, or afford it. But why not. I will make that possible. I have learned to be a teacher and not a student. As long as I can get a days worth living, I will provide the same (or close) services that schools of higher education do. That will be my sacrifice. Set the examples, and people will follow. Not me, but my ideals.

And how exactly would a classless, stateless society based on principals like mutual aid, direct democracy, solidarity, and free association impinge efficiency? I said that as a form of government it would not work, which is what it seems many people want to do. Those inefficiencies that you speak of do not relate to the system or philosophy of capitalism. They are the result of bad planning. As I said earlier, communism removes incentive to work hard and become better and stronger, which is against what nature intends for us...

Actually the inefficiencies I speak of are discussed wildly among capitalist economists, like Joseph Stiglitz and others. Markets are not efficient. I've done a video on this with lots of great links in the sidebar. Even Alan Greenspan, a long-time market advocate, has admitted this now. This isn't socialist rhetoric anymore; these are capitalist economists saying this and the real world is proving them right again and again. Markets are not efficient.

Forget the Manifesto. Marx's main body of work was Das Kapital. And his analysis of Capitalism and how it exploits and alienates workers is as relevant today as it was when he wrote it. It's not an easy read but if you want to understand capitalism, there's no better source. If you want to understand Marx you have to get beyond the manifesto. Then you might begin to understand what he was really talking about.

I agree that exploitations exist, but again, the idea of capitalism is that of nature. One person competes with another to have more things, as animals compete to survive. I said before that communism is a great idea (only hypothetically) but hypothetically doesn't matter in the real world. I can't spend my time trying to figure out how to do something that can't be done. I like to focus on reality...

With millions of people participating across the country we saw farm yields increase, productivity increase, in fact by any standard you could think of the society improved all while fighting off the greatest powers of the world. I agree that they should be allowed to fail on their own. It frustrates me how nations like the US try so hard to stamp it out when it doesn't affect them. Nations that do this are making someone else's business their own. This is a very bad idea. I don't really care about other people's nations and communism. I do care about people trying to convert this one though. If it worked for Spain, then let them do it. It doesn't affect me, but I don't think the idea of communism can apply in general...

Honestly for all the bashing of Avakian on here I haven't seen one criticism of the content of what he puts out. For this to be considered debate or criticism would be laughable if it wasn't so disgusting. If you are really serious about changing the world then you own it to yourself and to humanity to actually engage with Avakian, and the RCP. I'm in the International Socialist Organization, and we often talk about how nutty this is because it's insane to shamelessly promote someone like they're a god, and their paper has absolutely no political context. It's always just analysis, whereas the Socialist Worker from the ISO has articles written about major issues and our perspective on them, as well as reports from different struggles that we have involved ourselves in.
