  • OMG....beautiful!!

  • how fast can they fly tho for real?

  • Top interesting video!

  • So beautifull!

  • How awesome to see slow motion of a cockatiel flying. Gosh he's handsome. Sometimes I wish my Tiels had the opportunity just to fly outside, but, I know it's dangerous out there for them.

  • I was trying to work out 30 mph in kph because I've been driving home here in Australia and I've had a flock of wild cockatiels flying alongside the car at 60Kmp and keeping pace as if they were doing it on purpose! It was amazing!LOL!:)

I know cockatiels are one of the fastest flying parrots on earth and they need to be to avoid hawks etc.

  • That sounds about right - 17 meters per second or ~40 mph or ~60 kph was close to the top speed for this cockatiel flying in the wind tunnel, but wind tunnels probably have more turbulence than open air.

  • Amazing and beautiful...bet they are real pretty to see in person...

  • @tbirdtricia budgies seem to fly faster

  • Fascinating so good I found this video! I love cockatiels and have about 400 or them and wild ones fly around in flocks around were we live in Australia. Thankyou so much for sharing!:)

  • wow

  • That's strange. My Phoenix seems to fly more upright. Hmm.

  • Most birds level out when they're flying fast and fly with a more upright body angle when going slow. This bird is going at 30mph in a wind tunnel so he is fully horizontal and minimizing body drag.

  • What's a wind tunnel for? Did you take your bird there for exercise? Sorry for such a stupid question. I'm really curious though.

  • thats awsome!
