@wubangazz i have an 08 yfz 450 and all i do with it is trail riding. i dont race it. i absolutely love the thing, it does amazing on the trails and stands up to anything you throw at it. However, if you like to play in the mud but still want a sport quad, look into the 660 raptor as well. The radiators are mounted higher on the frame. I almost blew up my quad cause my radiator got caked with mud and wasnt cooling the engine. the raptors are just as reliable if not more. just a heads up

if it's dirty that means it's getting used and not just sitting in his garage looking pretty

if your cold starting w/o the choke then that means you are running way to rich, lean it out a but and you will get more power, the best way to check this is, when the engine is hot, if you floor it and pull the choke if it stalls instantly then it is rich, if it actually speeds up then it is too lean, find a happy medium and you will have the best performance, the choke is there for a reason and should be necessary when cold starting

herman3580, no you wouldnt, my friend has a predator 500, i catch his ass in 4th gear when he has a headstart. not a bad quad dont get me wrong, but nowhere near on the level of a yfz450. polaris should stick with making utility quads and let the sport quads stay with the big boy companys..
