  • Safeway's worse...

  • We totally got this one kid with that salad dressing gag. We'd forgot we told him to do it, and he was halfway through the ENTIRE aisle by the time anyone noticed him actually shaking every bottle for 30 seconds. SO awesome.

  • LOL!!! this is my life right here haha i work at albertsons too. our punch in thing doesnt work tho so we have to type in the numbers ugh -__- but the break room looks the same hahaha

  • Use both hands, dipshit. MEAT DEPARTMENT.

    ELITE OF THE ELITE.

  • Lmfao nice video I remember I use to work in a shit hole called winn-dixie...I wish i filmed how shitty it was working there but they have camera's there so i prob woulda been fired for making a video, luckily enough tho I quit that shit and got a better job.

  • Represent. Also, the Doors rock.

  • Abertsons bites

  • Albertsons?? never heard of this store

  • Courtesy Clerks On Strike !!!!

  • Hate this ******* job. I have to get carts and it's like 100 degrees outside and then I have to come back in all happy and be like hi how are you? How can I assist you? I have to say all that with a sweaty shirt and face.

  • hahaha the funny thing is i know excatly what ur going through lol

i absolutly hate getting carts!!!! and double coupons are super annoying! lol but i really like the ppl i work with, so it's cool =)

  • courtesy clerk at kroger for a year...hate it with a passion

  • Your breakroom overlooks the store? That's pretty cool man.

  • i cant belive your not fired yet you lazy bastarted

  • @MrUpchuck09 Not sure why so many people have trouble putting the pieces together... put yourself in my position, would you film on the clock and risk getting fired, or do it on your breaks and off-time and be fine? Seems like a pretty simple decision to me. I quit that job years ago anyway.

  • @RedTopProductions Bro I used to work at Albertsons, it sucked lol it was my first job btw

  • Me and my buddy both work at Albertsons and have been wanting to make a video similar to this (except it'll be a parody of those ridiculous training videos) and I was just curious on how you managed to film inside the store? I asked my manager and he seemed to boo-hoo the idea...

Anyway, fantastic video! I can relate to it all too well xD

  • @ThePissedOff I did wait until a day when the more relaxed managers were working. As long as its not for profit many businesses don't care if you film in them, I had no trouble getting permission to film there.

  • @ThePissedOff Just do it anyway. Long as my manager doesn't see it, he doesn't care. Your could probably be the same.

You could try coming to work on your day off with your uniforms on and pretending you're on the clock?

  • @ThePissedOff Just do it anyway. Long as my manager doesn't see it, he doesn't care. Your could probably be the same.

You could try coming to work on your day off with your uniforms on and pretending you're on the clock?

  • Guys who the fuck care if he does work or not? damn mind your businesses

  • Our shirts are not blue for some reason. I live in tucson and this job sucks dick especially in the summer

  • I remember working at Albertsons as a courtesy clerk. Worst job I ever had.

  • hopefully u did this on a sunday night

  • I worked as a courtesy clerk at Albertsons for 7 years. Ugh...

  • COURTESY, you're outside where is your VEST. And you guys actually have the cart harnesses? lol

  • i hate being a bagger at albertsons... 3 years

  • Thanks for the work that you do

  • easy job except when the customers that cant read the sales right and i have to explain it to them like im their damn teacher or something and they give me crap about how they dont understand and why they cant get everything their way

  • I worked at Alb for 6.5 years, 2.5 as a courtesy and it was by far the easiest job you can have at Albertsons. No Joke!

  • AAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHH CINNAMIN ROLLS!!! :@@@@ haha 2 hrs late *punch accepted* if only...

  • @blueleafdown Thats how it used to be but now you "have to get overrides" which is total BS. The punch goes through if you don't get an override. It just gets approved by the book keeper or whoever the next morning you just have to buddy buddy with him/her.

  • o the days of being a courtesy clerk.

  • 2 carts lol for real

  • Comment removed

  • My break rooms way worse. Im a bagger at this little small town store and we dont have a room made just for breaks. It's crammed inside the freight room. Theres a small dining table crammed in this corner with boxes piled all around it with a crappy mini fridge and a microwave. It also only has four seats to acommodate it's 50 employees. :|

  • I hate the people who are like can I have double paper bags wrapped in plastic? It's like are you serious? Haha, at our Safeway the Italian dressing thing is a prank for the new courtesy clerks.

  • that video was awesome, thanks for posting this video,, it brought back good memorys, i worked for albertsons ten years ago in texas city tx, that building is still vacant, sure was nice to see albertsons again, what a great video, i liked it, and they told us they were closeing in 3 weeks, man there was people crying and everything,

  • You bastards dont even have to wear aprons, like we do at safeway! Horseballs

  • Apron Rules! Dig the apron... there's a blog about life of grocery clerks .. mostlygrocery

  • Shit, what kind of employer lets there employees dick around and make a video while on the job? Jesus you're job must be cake. Wow wish jobs were that easy where i'm from.

  • Did it on my breaks, not on the clock

  • @RedTopProductions Albertsons really has to be one of the easiest places to work in the world. Admit it. Its not even a real job

  • @Gilch30 Easy process-wise yes, any fool can learn to be a CC. Physically and mentally is a different story, I busted my butt all day long and dealt with the scum of the earth. The CCs are the peeons that handle all the crap jobs associated with the grocery industry, have to help all the a**holes and d**chebags with a smile, and never get thanked for it. Ive had quite a few jobs since then, and bar-none its been the worst, dunno what you've been smoking... or you're just the lazy employee I hate

  • lawlz baggers ftw

  • Hmm, looks like they pulled it because of some of the background music I had. Thanks RIAA! If it weren't for them who KNOWS what kind of damages this video could have done to the artists. Apologies for the audio, I will probably be pulling it soon since its completely useless now.

  • yeah lol i work at albertsons the thing that sucks the most is the same jokes u get everyday from the costumers. ex. Is their anything else u need?...yeah money

  • I'am a bagger too and it sucks you do the most work for shitty pay.The only good thing is that most of the chicks who work there are pretty hot.

  • I hate working there, I have to work till 11:30pm christmas eve. FFFUUCCKK!!

  • i'm work the customer service booth at 4118 here in dallas. i'm lucky enough that i work with my friends and we just chill most of the time.

  • wow i havent seen a albertsons since denvr co...god luck with your job*

  • i work at albertsons and its a bitch!!!!!! not only do you get paid so little, but you also work extremly late and long as fuck and sometimes you work with assholes. tha job sucks and i balance football, basketball, school and this shit job

  • jajjaa just glad I dont work for albertsons anymore! funny video, but in the bakery you have worsest days like ummm for example getting burned...

  • AHHHG THEY'RE MAKING ME WORK ON HALLOWEEN.

    i hate albertson's.

  • (sigh) SOO many missed opportunities having to work instead of camping, skiing, road trips... well you get the idea. At least you will get to see lots of freaks and drunks! :D

  • Yepp, I got to go to my Albertson's job in about four hours =P

  • Excellent song choice. I love the Doors!

  • I was getting dry ice for a customer at store 836 and while i was getting it he said "yeah... i have to transport a dead cat cross country, how much dry ice do you think ill need?"

  • My store closed, someone left the hatch to the roof open and it rained and now there's water damage all over the place, the butcher block got OWNED.

  • Dude I work at store 6120 and I'm also a courtesy dork. But when i work closing shifts which is like almost all the time me and the other employees screw around all the time. So yeah my store can be fun depending on who u are working with.

  • I'm a cake decorator at store 6009. I hate it. I'm gonna try to transfer because my boss is a heartless beeyatch. Our hours have been cut like crazy, including mine cuz i'm not 40 hours and she still expects me to get done in 6 hours what I would in 8. Hello! Not possible!

  • man i've done some shit at my albertsons too... im a bagger to well "courtesy clerk " i just call myself a courtesy technition hahahahahaha but yeah im a bagger too.... i once tried jumping over a cart return and racked myself hard!! XD a customer helped me up, omg it was funny

  • I'm not such a great bagger, people telling me different things. And I'm like well.."WHICH IS IT?!?!?!?!?!"

  • man im courtesy clerk too, but i dont get nights, so i wouldnt have much fun

  • this job should be on dirty jobs , one time this guy shit on the wall, no joke and the manager made me clean it up yah life as a courtesy clerk sux, but i work at stater bros but its only in california so yah.

  • Someone pooed their undies and left them in the stall... dont bother to throw them away or anything. customers suck lol. CC's have way more fun at night when things slow down. Fun like oh say... pullup compotions in the Dairy cooler! Or hide and go seek untill that one crabby cashier that no one likes tells on you lol good times.

  • the old saying...never give a job to someone that you wouldn't do...your manager sucks and u should get a copy of your job description.

  • well the janitors were off so i had to or else noone was going to but it was sort of fun cause i got to use this like fire hose to water down the shit so i didnt have to pick it up

  • The small rules I guess are stuff like BOGO, sometimes you are supposed to buy 2 to get the deal but I always just gave it half off if they only wanted one... and didn't care if people were a few cents short, or if something was close to date I'd mark it down, stuff like that. I'd do almost any request a customer had within reason if they were nice about it, but the mean ones... give their tomatoes a little sqeeze before bagging, or place their bread where it can be smooshed a bit! Bwah ha ha!

  • That Kinda Reminds Me Of The Store In Sarasota...

I've Been working For Albertsons For The Past 4 Years, And I'm Going To Miss It Now That Publix Bought It.

  • Well, I don't know about wherever you are, but the locations here it's almost impossible to start as a checker, those are probably the hardest positions to come by... probably because it pays well for how easy it is. A few tips: Always bag chicken separately from anything else, being willing to make exceptions for small rules makes the customers happy, if you are a starting checker, make a cheat sheet of common produce items, and finally, be prepared to lose all faith in humanity, lots of idiots

  • Lol I just got off work at Albertsons.

  • Ditto. Today when i had to clean bathrooms i found a shirt someone had tossed on the floor and pissed on. Fucking customers

  • all our albertsons closed down in houston and kroger where i work had bought all of the albertsons stores dose kroger own albertsons? cuz your shoppers card works at kroger lol

  • Ha, yeah we used to know that trick with the Albertsons Cards working at Kroger stores. Kroger is a seperate company though, they go by King Soopers here and they are the biggest competition in town. All our stores would have gone under too but a third party bought the stores and kept them as Albertsons LLC. And we don't even use the cards anymore up here... but I know we were a test market, so they may still be used elsewhere.

  • Do you work at albertsons in colorado?

  • I used to, quit about a year ago. I heard right after I quit, the district manager (the head hancho) saw this video and flipped out. He came in and yelled at all the managers, but luckily everyone in the video had already quit and he couldn't do crap! Bwah ha ha! Oh I wish I could have seen his face.

  • same thing with Albertson's in the Austin area. No cards were used from 2005 (probably before then) to 2007 (when they closed) they were bought out shortly before then. For Austin area no more Albertsons and I heard Randall's is next in 2010 thanks to HEB's Price wars. I worked for Albertsons (well used to) at 3 different locations and the second one I worked at was really fun.

  • @willdav713 not true about Randalls, actually i work for Randalls in the Houston market, and it is owned by Safeway and is going strong, they are actually building new Randalls stores, they are taking down older ones and building the newer ones on the older ones property, it dont make sense to me either but thats what the word is from our store director

  • DUDE, the cart thing is awsome!!!

Also, cool nube joke w/ the dressing.

  • I work at ACME, which is a branch of albertsons.

Number 1; you guys have a way better break room.

Number 2; your uniform and nametags are the same as ours, except ours say acme.

Number 3; if you are 2 hours late, the time clock doesn't say "Punch Accepted"

It says "Too Late! See your Manager"

  • Ha ha, yeah so did ours, I wasn't actually 2 hours late, have to go get an override. And those were our old uniforms, the newer ones are red.

  • red?

    That's awesome.

We're about to switch to green.

and to the person below me, what's a courtesy clerk?

    We don't have those.

    haha

    We have baggers though.

  • Remember the Albertson's shirts that had grocery bag icons they were beige (circa 2001)

    Then it was blue

    In 2006 it became red

Now green huh? I have 1 red shirt but I don't know if I have the beige shirt still.

  • I love the part with the cinnamon rolls. Your fae is classic there LOL. I am a Courtesy Clerk at Albertsons too, so I can relate to this vid very well. Nice Job.

  • omfg when i used to be a cashier/courtest clerk i would HATE and i mean FUCKING HATE it when stupid ass old people (it was mostly old people) would say "can i have the paper inside of plastic?" omg. sometime, i would recognize the customers and already know that they were going to ask me to bag their shit for them paper in plastic, so i would just move checkstands and let someone else do it hahaha.

  • Ha ha, Yeah that bothered me too... Or the old people that say "make them light, only 2 or 3 items per paper bag", and of course they have a $300 order that ends up filling 4 carts with half the stores' paper bags.

  • Thanks to all you people that do these jobs.

  • Thanks, man, it's a gritty job.

  • i used to be a courtesy clerk at albertsons but my uniform was purple....ugh i hated getting carts

  • I worked at Albertsons in GJ, Co back in August at Customer Service and I swear never had I had to multitask so much. MoneyGrams, Cigarettes, movies, cashing payroll checks, and you cant forget lottery tickets. But I was there for a month before I quite evidently there were "Personality Conflicts"

  • A few times in the butcher block people ask for a pound of ground beef... I weigh out 1.01 lbs. and type in the code which takes off the paper weight of exactly 1.00 lb! I started out as a courtesy clerk and made my WEIGH into a glorious department at Alberstons 565!

  • I love Albertsons, with so much passion that I don't even feel worthy of shopping there.

    So... I just work there.

    565 woooooo!

  • today, i was the cleaning guy and this lady passed out while taking a dump in the liquor store bathroom and got poo every where...guess who got to clean it up...my job sucks

  • Oof, that does suck. Reminds me of a story: I guess in mexico the sewer system isnt very strong, and they just store their used TP and throw it out later since the pipes will clog if they flush it. So some immigrants came in, used the restroom, and as someone came in later on, they saw piles of soiled TP stashed in the corner of the room by the toilet. Glad I wasnt the one who had to clean that up.

  • hell yea. albs 4 life. this vid is so true. stupid people.

    -2037

  • Our managers would sometime hide out in the parking lot if we ever parked in the stores parking lot..we would get written up for it too...we had to park in the back lot.

  • I wish our break room was big as this. i work for stater bros which is better than albertsons.

  • ...Never heard of Stater Bros., but I have no doubt it's better than Albertsons! ha ha

  • actually on the legitimacy...you're pretty darn close!!!!! people would not believe what happens!

  • Oh god, I know... I have so many stories its absurd. There's always the one about the guy trying to smuggle out a gallon of milk in his pants, the lady that thinks grocery stores price-match any other store, or the old folks that want one item per paper bag to name a few. I think it should be a law that everyone needs to work retail at least 1 year, to learn basic social skills and how to treat people.

  • Very well said!

  • same =1648

  • damn i started off as a courtesy clerk summer of 06 at $5.25 an hour.... lol i was thinkin to myself y the fuck i took that job cause texas had like a 5month drought and fuckin dealin with bullshit work for bullshit pay. i finally moved my way up to "supervisor" lol dont plan on stayin there for long but im reppin that store 4118 Garland texas....

  • haha

it sucks being a courtesy clerk

    i am one..

    rep 6701

    carlsbad cali

  • I'm a courtesy clerk too, it f'n sucks!

  • I used to be a courtesy clerk at Albertsons from 2003-2005 & I am now currently in the Service Deli & still like my job after two years in that department.

  • haha at least you guys get a coke machine, we get nada.

and we only make newbs shake the salad dressing :)

    #6702 in del mar, ca

  • Haha. We still use the same punch-in machine.

  • OMG DAVID!!! I didn't know that you made this video!! It brings back a ton of memories!!! How are you??? Are you still at 876??

  • No, my last day was a few weeks ago. Who is this, by the way?

  • OMFG David!!! I hadn't ever seen this before today!!! LOLOLOLOL... I have to say it brings back 2 years worth of Albtertsons 876 memories. ohhhh good old 876.....what a crazy place!!!

  • Great vid! I used to work at Alby's too. Until, like so many other commenters, they shut down the store I worked at. Your breakroom upstairs looks exactly like ours did with the slanted windows! What state do you live in? I remember we used to make the courtesy clerks who were dumb enough go and shake up the Italian dressings, lmao! Then we'd give them a price check on aisle 14 when we only had 13. They'd look forever! Hahaha.

  • Ha ha, yeah we've done the ghost aisle prank too... fun times. I worked (my last day was the 13th...) at #876 in Fort Collins, CO.

  • Haha, I think it's universal.

    #950 Bullhead City, Az.

  • Safeway>albertsons

  • Dude, loved it... Mainly because I'm a courtesy clerk at Albertsons, but seriously, I can relate to most of that lol.

  • Nice music dude

  • yesss!!!

i know all those scenarios 2 well 2hours late about every sundaypaper inside of plastic especially when they change their minds at the last minute and falling on my ass in the parking lot

  • today i missed my nao training because I woke up too late but i was schedule to work on monday. can i still work. or do i absolutely need the training to work. answer me please quickly!. also, i don't have name tag.

  • They give you a nametag, even a temp one if you forgot a real one, and I was just trained at work while on the clock, I didnt have any special training, so I dunno, sorry!

  • ahh man im a courtesy clerk at albertsons!! not a bad job but it can be a bitch with the customers

  • They Should Of Fired Him

  • I feel for you. I worked at officedepot, and it is hell on earth working at a retail store. HELL. I wish someone would have or would put me out of my misery.

  • I like your acting. What's up with the shaking of the dressing? so fake.

But everything else was ....wait.. what about the stealing of the carts? fake.

  • Wow... I'm not even going to start to describe the list of everything wrong with your claims... I'd rather just block you! Bwah ha ha

  • its fake? no his carts really were stolen... but, i do think you could've done a better job with the acting?

  • Ha, yeah I am by no means an actor, nor was everyone else in the film. I like to be the one behind the camera, directing, but I don't have that luxury too often.

  • god i'm a courtesy clerk at my store and they make us do so much work n shit for so lil pay. when i quit i'm gonna leave that store remembered. YOU WAIT AND SEE

  • "They trained you wrong as a joke"

    haha

  • Funny part about that is they really did train me wrong as a joke... nothing too serious though, just to use the produce cleaning materials instead of the CC's... when the produce people got mad at me, I pieced it together that I was using the wrong stuff.

  • Ah Albertsons... I used to work there, until they all closed down in my state. Your store looks really similar to the one I worked at. That brought back memories. I still have my shirt and name badge. Haha

  • haha that pretty much describes every day I work at albertsons, although I work in customer service so I don't have to get carts... I did when I started out as a courtesy clerk though lol

  • haha that was kinda odd?!?! but i guess it was more fun taping while working instead of just working.... you do not really have to shake the dressing bottles! do you?!?!

  • Ha ha, no, the CC's don't actually have to shake up the dressing. And I've never heard of the mopping the freezer one.. I'll have to remember it!

  • dude cool vid. reminds me of my first month. middle of summer, hundred degrees outside collecting carts. beats dealing with customers though...

That salad dressing thing is a prank for noobs, same thing as having them mop the freezer.

  • ah brings back so many good memories...i remember when i was a courtesy clerk, then i became a cashier, then went to the customer service desk, now i am a service supervisor (the guy who told you that you were fired)

what division do you work in? are you part of Albertsons Inc. or Albertsons LLC? my division no longer has the navy blue shirts for regular associates, we have red/maroon shirts. however, the light blue manager shirt is still part of the uniform.

  • We all have the maroon shirts now too, managers can wear anything they want. We are part of Albertsons LLC, they closed the majority of the stores here in Colorado, but all three in my town stayed open. I love the new owners, got rid of the oh-so-lame Xtreme Value buy and preferred cards, plus gave us lunches on any shift over 5 hours.

  • oh i know, it is pretty good that the new policy for lunches is in effect, because i help my service operations manager make the schedule sometimes and i have to remember to give people lunches for shifts over 5 hours, especially for minors. and you say the managers/supervisors can wear anything they want? they must be laid back where you are because all managers and supervisors still have to wear the light blue shirt but now with a tie.

  • speak for yourself down here in texas we're still using the stupid things...lol and as a checker i just got a raise the other day and i'm making 7.05 which for San Angelo is very good...5.15 is minimum wage here but i'm comfortable lol

    ~Jeffrey~

  • Really? That sucks! Our minimum here is 7.15, and Im getting $10, about to get a raise to $12. And I guess we are the "test" region, but its working great so far.. so you guys may be next. Were you guys part of the stores that were bought out too?

  • wow i thought that was pretty funny...i'm just wondering why you were working the customer service desk as a courtesy clerk? and don't you just love the maroon shirts...

  • Ha, yeah I just wanted to throw in the line "Paper or Plastic" and it seemed easier to do it at the customer service desk than at a checkstand. I was hoping nobody would notice... I have been promoted to checker since then though. And god yes, I LOVE the maroon shirts. Hey, at least we don't have the preferred card anymore!

  • Whoops, I forgot this was the version I made for school, with credits and an alternate version at the end. I know there are many, many problems and mistakes in this video, so be kind on my comments!
