The plane itself was built in/by USSR, while Russia has legally retained all proprietary rights thereof.

Soviet bureau that made the plane was then situated in Ukraine. The Bureau remained in Ukraine, although built no new 225s after the break-up of USSR, yet retained & operates the only copy in existence

But this was just a part of whole soviet aviation infrastructure. It was mostly russian, but it would be offensive to say "russian" because USSR included many republics and nationalities.

@tmanran Actually it's not a fake. I live near an air base and see C-5's take off all of the time. They look like they are going so slow that they should fall out of the sky. The engines are so powerful and they create so much lift that they manage to stay in the air. Plus I'm a CG artist and see know CG in this video.

А Украина была как бы область этой страны. Такая же как Московская область (ну, почти). И правительство централизованно решало что где и как строить, какие заводы, тем более военные. Ясен хрен, что на тер. Украины были какие-то предприятия в т.ч. авиа. Этот самолёт целиком и полностью Советский.

Не знал, что в 82 была такая страна Россия. А ну да, была, а Украина, Беларусь и тд - это области. И только если что-то было сделано при СССР на тер.России, это "российский", а если на тер.Укоаины, то это "советский". Начитаный, почитай Википедию, там есть флаги производителя - советский и украинский!

Во-вторых, АНы были по википедии "было заложено 2 машины, в настоящее время один экземпляр находится в лётном состоянии и эксплуатируется украинской компанией Antonov Airlines. Второй экземпляр готов на 70 %" - т.е. Украина не построила ни одного нового. А СУшки и МИГи живут и развиваются, новые движки, новая авионика и тэдэ
