  • 14 and can out jam most guys She is awesome!!!

  • good musician and good looks too, Keep rockin

  • sends shivers......yewwwwww

  • Woooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooow !!!

  • Great!

  • sg sounds better than lespaul...

  • Once again I'm extremely impressed with your performance but then again you do play the genre of Music (Blues/Hard Rock) that I absolutely Love. I would like to know one thing though, were you nervous at all up there playing with the band?

  • Hendrix can be proud !

  • What an inspiration you are - keep it up!

  • She looks so happy when she plays, god damn this is awesome.

  • ROCK IN ROLL!!!!!!..

  • The musician I'd like Desiree' to have a session or play on stage with is Rik "The Rocket" Emmit from Triumph and do Rock & Roll machine - that would be an ass kicker

  • Desiree - One more comment. The team you put together for this performance seems to work very well with your songs and playing style. I know Barry is a good friend and mentor and although you shine on stage very well by yourself, Barry REALLY makes you shine. His personality and professionalism gives you that extra boost that brings the crowd alive. Would really like to see more of this. Also, any thoughts on doing a full DVD? I'd buy it in a heartbeat. Take care and HAVE FUN!!!

  • One criticism: Drop the two-handed hammer ons, or do something serious with them. If you want to expand your palette, check out some of the different techniques that Eric Johnson employs. Don't get hung up on it, though. Jeff Baxter doesn't need to do any of that stuff and listening to him is like a religious experience. The Music is the thing.

  • Barry Goudreau was your hero? Well, I've got news for you Ms. Bassett and please don't let it go to your head: Both your musical ideas and playing is better than his. Sorry, Goudreau. I kind of liked Boston as a teen, too. With the exception of a few songs, they were boring. Sholz was a technically proficient player, but I enjoy your music, and you have a unique and fluid melodic sense with a very tasteful understated articulation.

  • Kepp rockin Girl!!!!!!

  • The only way this video could have been any better is if Jimi himself had been on stage with them. I bow down to you, Desiree.

  • those 5 people that hate her they just suck

  • We all have "self" expressed or repressed...natural, authentic, welcoming, sharing, even "caring" and most definitely "sparkling" as a diamond in a bright light. DB doesn't just dish-out or even belt-out music, it cascades from her heart & soul, thru her "self" and springs to a life of its own--she "loves" life & living without slamming you with it, or demanding you watch and listen--she makes music like a priestess making an offering and it flows with blessing for all who have ears to hear.

  • brovo...

  • ur father must be very proud of his little girl...

  • I didn't know she had any critics, maybe a few other 16 girls, who will never be anywhere near as cool as Her.

  • i keep watching all of your videos over and over, i'm hooked

  • i reALLY SHOULDN'T WATCH THIS IT'S 25 PAST 2 IN THE NIGHT...LOL should be a lable on it..warning..adictive... ;)

I like it !

  • and their songs? great guitarist, but I want to see the musician!

  • Hi Desiree - You have broken the code of the guitar. Now you can play ANYTHING. Congratulation. Best wishes - Klaus from Denmark

  • She smiles... and begins "channeling" the person who originally played the song, but then its "lifted" even higher by her joy-filled expression with other gifts she possesses. I love this!!! Desi B. "takes me back to a 'new' future." Love it!!!

  • Wow she is incredible. I hope she stays bright and doesn't burn out too early... keep jamming kiddo!!

  • Desiree, in this clip & this song I kinda think your just a tad better than your idol. lol even he was blown away at 1 point. that is so cool. your an awesome guitarist.

  • Espctacular !!!!!!!!!

  • Why did Carlos Santana say that he'd pass the torch to Orianthi Panagaris?

  • @derek47 I'm 53 years old and have followed the music from my generation and never was much of a Santana fan. However, I've watched a few of Orianthi Panagaris videos and she good, but does not have the chaisma that Desiree shows. Two differant styles dude, they are both good and exceptional guitarist and both hold the keys to their own futures, it's not about one being better.

  • @garryaksel Nothing about Santana here, or Orianthi. And it's spelled "charisma".

  • @derek47 I think Orianthi has learned a lot from Carlos - escpecially the feeling, the warmth of the tone.

  • to the 4 people who disliked . grow an ear . to the 341 who liked , I can see another rory galagher comin on ;)

  • Damn. I think i am in love.

  • fucking amazing. you rock baby.

  • Awsome young lady!

  • I'm from your area, now that i've seen this I'll support you at any event! you are amazing, and genuine. Keep following your dream, and don't listen to people who don't have your talent, jealousy is going to follow you with you ability. So will great fans too, focus on them!!! In the end they might call you the best ever, and not put best "female" label either. Go get it

  • Very nice with good energy!

  • is the first time i see you.. you are great!!!

  • Jimi Hendrix has been dead longer than he was alive. Glad to hear he is still an influence in the world of music. This girl rocks! Nothing wrong with her voice either by the way.

  • this is much better, her voice is maturing really nicely.

  • Not a Great Voice,Stick To The Guitar Love

  • @MrDONSHAW just watch the talent and refrain from leaving worthless comments love

  • @karrbomb Where I come from we say it as it is,she can,t sing so give it up, that,s life she can play the guitar stick to it

  • @MrDONSHAW And also See LisaRose 1973 About 2 Months ago

  • Très belle interprétation de "All along the watchtower" de Bob Dylan mais dont la plus belle et magistrale interprétation revient incontestablement à JIMI HENDRIX !

  • Rock in roll royality here folks!! no dought

  • I love the fact that every time you are playing, you always have a smile on your face, that you are loving what you do. I love playing the guitar, even though I only just got started playing it less than six months ago. I've wanted to do it for years, but never had the courage until recently. And seeing musicians such as yourself up on stage loving what you do, it only spurs me on to continue learning. Thanks, Desiree, keep on rockin', and take the world by storm!!!!

  • merçi pour cette reprise!!wahouuuuuu..thunder of thunder it's rigth Jimi is coming... ,Greetings Desiree...and keep rocking!!!

  • Desiree, thanks You've rekindled my love for Rock n Roll guitar. It's so refreshing to see your talent and poise. It's going to be nice watching you grow and become even more famous and respected in your genre. Take care and stay away from greedy idiots who want to use you. Best Wishes, Dear!

  • Started clapping here at home. That was epicly wonderful.

  • The young enjoying some classic rock ....maybe there is a future for the world !

  • Love watching this little gal play. Effortlessly and she's always smiling. Can tell she loves what she's doing.

  • Jimi is looking down smiling at this groovy young guitar slingin' chick.

  • She doesn't need to prove anything to anyone. She is her own person. VoV

  • You go girl....

  • Jaw dropping awesome! You'll soon be schoolin' 'em all! Go for it!

  • Desiree' you are an inspiration to myself, I am overwhelmed with your talent, I have been playing for 30 years and I am ashamed to pick my guitar up..

  • Jimmy is back ! Italy loves you Desiree.

Hope you come soon to this beautiful country whith your endless talent !

  • Awesome! I just discovered this TODAY! I'm 62, a Texas cowboy, who loves blues, jazz and classic rock guitar. Ms. Desiree Bassett, you're truly amazing! So cool that you love your music, get high on the guitar instead of drugs, and flat kick ass when you play! I love your smile, charisma, and on stage presence. Go girl, go! You've got it. Not since SRV have I been so impressed with a young guitarist. I wish you success, happiness, in music and life. Blessings from Lake Texoma, Texas!

  • 3 funkeiros virão esse video e perceberão oque é musica de verdade

  • Go Deseeie i think iseen that guy look over with aww when he watched you play

  • God, This chick is great ! time to find her Album online.

  • girl, you are amazing :)

Just by luck I stumbled upon your vids, thank god I did !!

  • i want my daughter to be just like you keep playing and never stop

  • Just watched a few movies of Desiree for the first time... Love it, she don't only play the songs with her guitar, she plays it with her body & heart, from tip to toe. True feeling for music, love watching you! Awesome!

  • I love this woman :-) She is always so happy NATURALLY!

  • Awesome! So cool!

love to see how much fun you are having up there :-)

    Rock on !!!

  • nice job Desiree, show the world your talent and keep it up

  • Its so refreshing to see a bright young talent just having fun :)

  • 2 legends on stage at once! I played in a Metal band back when big hair was the norm. Had the opportunity to play with the legends from that era( Bon Jovi,Cinderella and Britny Fox) just to name a few. Keep up the hard work and touring,it will pay off. You are giving girls(and boys) the inspiration to keep pluggin away. SoCal Love you Des!

  • KEEP IT UP, young badass! That's what this world needs, is more brave, strong females. I have never NEVER seen someone play with so much heart with a big smile on their face. I always look like I've got gas pains. Keep that love in your heart and spread it to this hurting world with you're well-honed craft.

  • To all of Desiree's critics, I would only ask that you consider where you were as a player at 16...

It is clear that she is a phenom who is hard at work at her craft. Watching her progression from a competent player to an imaginative player who is not only improving her technique, but also exudes a genuine joy in playing and performing, is nothing short of inspiring.

    Bravo Desiree, Bravo !!!

  • @dstdavid1 I really can't remember but I probably spent a lot of time masturbating at 16.

  • Good for you, you are living what we all have dreamed off and some point in our lives. Just epic.

  • You are singing much better! Keep it going girl.

  • Love it! Keep Rock'n lil Lady!!!!!

  • Desiree, keep on rockin girl....

  • Desiree, I had a dream 25 years ago for myself. But I thought that rock had no place for a young girl like me. Well, I was wrong. Thank you for showing me. You have guts, talent and perseverance - keep smiling, you're living the dream!

  • Your kickass!

  • Now that's the girl I wanna marry someday!

So honey..., where are we gonna take Fender for his second birthday? Oh and I think you should know Ibanez missed her ballet class today..

  • Desiree, you'll meet alot of jealous people along the way. They feel trapped in their mundane lives because they didn't get the "lucky" break or the opportunities others got. If "being lucky" is being prepared to take advantage of the opportunities when they present themselves then you keep on being lucky. Keep working hard, keep preparing, and surround yourself with good people that are going to encourage you on your ride. Now, will you please play some Stevie Ray Vaughn =)

  • Continues to make me dream please !!! :D

  • This chick is nuts! Goes to show how much hard work pays off! Kudos.

  • Do you have a gene in you from a famous guitarist, or did you learn your moves from a famous guitarist.. If not, well I'm speechless.

  • you are incredible!you're 2 handed stuff is great cuz it fits right in the solo & does not sound cheezey in the least...awesome!

  • saw a link to your "best 15 year old female guitar player" something or another on the side of a chris feener video and figured why the hell not, and i don't regret it your incredible.

  • Whats your take on punk rock desiree? I grew up with G&R and Metallica, once I started skateboarding I got into punk rock as well. Bad Religion, DOA, Ramones, ect

  • Je ne sais rien dire d'autre : "Exceptionnel" ! Wonderfull ! A great talent.

  • brilliant!

  • She rocks on guitar but she should not sing she horrible at it.

  • @stclair2nd what is wrong with classic rock? there was a focus on musicality and phrasing, with a flow and purpose. I have nothing against modern rock and metal styles but they are based on playing as many notes as possible and injecting as much power as possible. Very few musicians do these styles solely, and you will find that the best in any genre draw emotion and skill from all styles of music.

  • great job

  • galing mo ahh.. keep it up. . wish you the best :-)

  • theres a 12yr old korean girl called su who,ll kick this white girls ass hardout for playin, i tyhink its quite naieve to state shes the best 15yr old in the world, but what else wud u xpect from americans. theyre stuck so far up there asses its to dark up there to see anything anyway

  • theres a 12yr old korean girl called su who,ll kick this white girls ass hardout for playin, i tyhink its quite naieve to state shes the best 15yr old in the world, but what else wud u xpect from americans. theyre stuck so far up there asses its to dark up there to see anything anyway

  • @roach4946 the question is can YOU out play her? probably not - so appreciate the talent the girl has and the other young musicians and keep your asinine comments to yourself

  • @stclair2nd wasting my time with the trail blazers who set the stage for where the roots of rock n roll are....with the people who inspired me and helped me along the way........ the only person Im turning my back on is YOU .

  • @DesireeBassett I absolutely love it when some "Joe/Jane Somebody" think they're trying to give advice to an open, caring, sharing, virtouso, and maestro who actually studies and plays the instrument such as yourself. Btw, I really enjoyed your comment back to stclair2nd. The tragic bit here is rather than look at age + talent ratio one could only suspect that the girl/guy was plastered out of their mind when they approached the keys. I love you Ms. Bassett -- you are the real thing

  • @DesireeBassett Desiree, been following you for years and just downloaded your CD's from iTunes and your phenomenal. Love the way you just keep improving and your selection of covers and of your own songs is just great....!!!! Just keep chasing your dreams, because your on the right path......

  • Nice work.......but that's Dylan not Hendrix.

  • Desiree, U'r a real ENERGIZER , U always Rock .. Keep on rockin !!!!!

  • Great guitar and vocals. Well done Desiree;keep rockin

  • This a great look for her now that she is growing up. She looks fantastic and more like a serious player. In a nostalgic way I'm going to miss the pigtails and sundresses but I still have my Youtube bookmarks. Rock on Des!

  • She isn't lucky, she's talented and a hard worker. If people would put 1/10th of the energy into their own lives the she has into her guitar playing just think what you could accomplish!

  • I'm glad she doesn't listen to people who tell her to do it "correctly" - she is a breath of fresh air in a stale room and plays her freakin heart out.

  • Have a band of your own yet? o-o

  • eh. she's not a great singer. but her guitar playing is fantastic.

  • @thisferalhybrid you realize she actually sounds like Hendrix. lmao

  • If there was a girl Hendrix, it would be you gal!

  • Great job Desiree. I'm a fan. I've watched a couple of your other videos and really like your singing and playing. Try not to pay attention to the comments who are jealous of you or people that think you've had lucky breaks. It's pretty stupid to make comments like that especially to a young lady playing her heart out while probably still in school. JGBComedy is being an ass. Why are people like that on this page if you don't fully appreciate. I thank Desiree for sharing the music.

  • A student of mine told me to check this girl out & after doing so I highly agree with JGBComedy. She knows her scales well but there is nothing special about her playing. In fact its very mechanical and she will realize this in years to come. Dont get me wrong she is good and nightclub material but I think its more of that winning smile.

  • @MrTowers2112

How dare you say this isn't technical. My father has played guitar for 38 years and is teaching me and this is definately technical guitar playing. My father isn't even as good as she is and your going to talk bad on her video? Stop trolling and go somewhere else...

  • Just like to say what an amazing guitarist you are. Good luck in the future and hope you make it really big.

  • WOW, I can't believe I just found out about your gifted talent today! Hearing you play some Zappa would be over the top!

  • Fantastica Desiree eres genial, te admiro aqui en Veracruz,Mexico

  • Keep up the great work!!! I only wish I could play so well. Thanks for the great sound!

  • You are SO full of talent Des. makes my heart feel full that you can take the songs I learned so many years ago and totally shred them like YOU wrote them. Good Luck on the Cirque tour. Keep Rockin! It's what you do BEST!

  • Dude, you're playing it really safe harmonically. Don't be afraid to fuck up or to paint yourself into a corner. If you get trapped, you can just pull a bold move and hit a kind of 'reset.'

'Bold move' includes the kind of microtonal stuff that Eddie Van Halen and Greg Ginn do when cornered.

    Excelsior.

  • I'm admitting that was a little critical of your technique to your teacher, in spite of the massive kudos from all the major people you've been with onstage. (And good for you, by the way). There's an art to playing lead guitar that's lost on just about everybody. It entails understanding tone and vibrato, if you're going to do Hendrix, Clapton. Eric Johnson and Michael Landau do it legit. I also have a couple blues lessons at my site. So ROCK ON, but try to be open to criticism too. OK?

  • wow.

  • great live performance

  • you rox !!!

you are a pure piece of happybeautifullyness !

  • Put someone to sing.

  • @JGBComedy not ! lucky my butt dude, do you have any idea how hard I worked to get there.

  • @DesireeBassett To think that you aren't lucky in this situation is completely wrong.

  • @DesireeBassett Dont listen to the lucky break, he is an ass, I play Lead, and it is nice to see a guitarist who takes it to the spiritual level, when our band was still together, we would travel in the music, we knew where we were going then meet at the rehearsed parts of the song, like live Zep, your gen of guitarist, Ive played with dont know it or feel it, but it is nice to see you go to the other side, I think you know what I mean. Great Job, on youtube there will always be a wise ass.

  • @DesireeBassett we all work hard. and "get there"? believe me....you're nowhere

  • @DesireeBassett success in music is always a combination of talent, hard work, and luck. Yes you got talent, yes you worked hard, and yes you've had a lucky break (or maybe more than 1). JGBComedy is right. There are plenty of more talented guitarists who have worked just as hard as you but not had the "lucky" break. Truth be told it's largely because you're a cute young girl & you've got that novelty factor which is highly marketable. That's just the way it is, It's not a bad thing, be grateful

  • @DesireeBassett so... you're 50 years old?

  • @DesireeBassett Oh wow, Desiree'!! you rock even replying to those fools that have nothing but envying your talent. I know you don't worry about loosers like this. Greetings...and keep rocking!!!

  • @DesireeBassett Desiree thanks for sharing your music. I like your playing and optimism. You totally kick ass. Ignore the jealousy comments or whatever other negative comments that come. It sucks that people carry this behavior in America. I watched the music videos for enjoyment and you definitely rock. It would be crazy as you get older if you were invited to play in the G3 concerts with Joe Satriani. But I know schedules can be tough as times goes on. Keep playing Desiree!!!

  • @DesireeBassett how many years have u ve been playing guitar and y arent u on like mtv. the mainstream does not know how to find real talent.

  • @DesireeBassett - don't let the fools posting crap about your playing drag you down. Those same idiots will only dream of playing as well as you do. Rock On!

  • galing mo ah. . keep it up. . :-)

  • @JGBComedy Puting her hard work, time and everything else aside, everyone who has become famous has had to get that "lucky break". The thing is, you dont get the "lucky break" unless you bust your butt and constantly improve and get better. To me she sounds great, so thats all that really matters. I hope she continues to work hard and becomes a huge star. Good Luck with everything that you do Des~

  • @JGBComedy post a vid of you playing and we'll be the judge

  • @JGBComedy Dude I hope you're saying this because you know a ton of others like her who just never got went on stage because of reasons like: Their parents are dumb enough to tell their kids to flush that dream down the toilet for some top law school entry preps

  • @JGBComedy How the hell can you know if she had luck or that she worked hard for it? Man you judge too fast before you know all the facts. I never say this too anyone on here but you deserve it... YOU ARE AN IDIOT!

  • she's just so wicked

  • let me know if your ever coming to the big island of Hawaii!! ill be the first one there!!!! i love you Desiree.

  • :-)

  • Head out to AsiA!

  • ...18?

  • As always a AWESOME job by a AWESOME talent

  • Bassett...come play LA....So Cal so needs you!!!!

  • you ROCK girl!!! i mean ROCK! you must put so much time into playing... very inspirational :)) im a female drummer ;) hehe xxxxx

  • Desiree and Orianthi and Tal Wilkenfeld, ... just need a hot chick drummer, and they would be the ulltimate mega female band, ... unstoppable!

  • @viewitmytube Caitlin Kalafus, from Kicking Daisies or Meytal Cohen, they're very good; but it's just my opinion!

    ;)

  • @hibernatus and the winner is ... Meytal Cohen!

  • @viewitmytube

    Good Choice!

And Now We must Pray For That!

    ;)

  • @viewitmytube search for Meytalll. There's your drummer right there

  • WOW!WOW!WOW!WOW!

  • great idea, Desiree and Orianthi. what a show that would be.

  • Xcuse the the language but that is an F'ing performance! One of the very few musical talents on this world that gives hope to real rock music and its fans. I hope one day you find your band and way and become the huge star you are supposed to be. I'd love to see you live one day on one of your world tours!

  • In the beginning it was tough for her singing "guy's" songs (IMHO), but as she has gotten older her voice has developed a richness where she's where she needs to be. How about some SRV?

  • Desiree and Orianthi tour....any one interested?
