i have a question .. i will bough me a passat with dsg (dual cluch , too ) with 170 hp and do you think thats that good .. ? im not sure .. thanks ,.. :D
BTW do you know that the BMW 750 and Mercedes S500 competitor from Audi is now the A8 4.2 TDI (i`m not kidding). And despite having more than 50 hp less than the 750 AND S500 it`s quicker and cleaner. Its rated at 5.1 sec
Do you think it`s a smart move by Audi to make a high performance high end car a diesel? Please tell me what you think
Anyway i heard that Audi plans to bring all it`s diesels there by 2015. The second or third Audi car to use Audi`s next generation will be the new generation A6 next year, and thanks to ASF the car will be lighter but have better fuel economy, i heard that it will be 245-250 hp and 0-60 6 sec flat.
Are the downshifts automatically "rev-matched". In some cars with paddles, you "downshift" with the paddles (even just one gear at a moderate speed) and nothing happens until you put on the brakes to slow down. Then you get a not-so-smooth downshift that isn't so sporty, but then again I usually double-clutch downshift when driving a manual.
i understand that dual clutch transmissions are quicker than a true manual, but call me old fashion, shifting an automatic manually w/ paddles or a one motion gear selector isn't natural. Give me a three pedal setup please, I will take the tenths of seconds slower times, for more dynamic driving experience.
this is awesome but see if you can put it in manual mode hitting red line. I am hesitant of getting these cars with duel clutches over manual because a lot of them seem to shift for you during reline even in manual mode i mean all the way and let it sit there for a little bit for full power. A lot of these semi manual or duel clutches do this to protect the engine which is good but for hard core enthusiast redlining all the way then shift. Does this car's duel clutch system let you do this?
You should edit the video so that you can have a split view vertically showing the comparison of the sport/normal mode. It would be cool to have them side by side instead of one after the other.
They need to add Quattro to the TDI and I'm sold.

Not too happy about not having optional AWD. I know it will hurt MPG but they should think about offering it

I was a huge fan of the VW TDi when I first saw it, but build quality always turned me away.....
But... that's an Audi.

nice video, would you reccommend a 6 speed manual or the s tronic for a new s4?

@mihail2000 Faster and more fuel efficient sure sounds sweet to me! :) Even better if it runs on domestically produced renewable diesel ...

So is this about the same as the Mitsubishi SST transmission? What's the differences between the two?

Doesn't anyone find it a little odd that this I4 doesn't like to rev past 4800???

Wow that shifts faster than most people would with a manual. Actually now some Automatics post faster 0-60 with autos.
