It was the BDO Lakeside quarter-final in 2002 - King won the match and would become the eventual runner-up ( he lost to Tony David in final )

@5eurocups2005 Couldnt agree more mate,in terms of overall standard it was better thant the PDC no doubt,but since Barney jumped ship every other good player has joined him and the BDO has become somewhat amateurish with Martin Adams thinking he's the best player on the planet.

The BDO at its very best on the BBC here. Barney/King playing, Green/Part commentating, Georgie Noble scoring, and one of the best legs at the Lakeside. It can never get better than that.

There are still some great players in the bdo ,but the standard is a bit higher in the pdc.The bdo really do need to do something more to keep the best players!The main difference with bdo and pdc is the fans,I'm sure most of the pdc fans just go for a piss up,very rarely show players respect.

I think to really feel like the best player in the world yu need to win the world title in the organization Taylors in. I don't think the standard of darts in the BDO is any worse than the PDC as this weeks grand slam has proved with 4 BDO players making the last 8 but everyone knows Taylor is the number one player and winning the BDO version is in my eyes not as valuble as the PDC version.

I'm glad this has been said. BDO and PDC are evens stevens but one has the best player of all time. Even so, I don't think he'd have won 13 titles had the game not split. Players like Hankey and Beeton played out of their skins when they won the BDO, they might (I say might) have taken Taylor in those years IMHO :-)
