Does anyone know what rubber Joo uses on the backhand? I've never seen anyone being this good at smashing with long pips. Is it an especially grippy kind of long pips, has he switched to medium pips or what?

@kevinfzkevinfz Really? That's one of the long pips rubbers with the most effect. I don't understand how he can smash with it. Could someone perhaps explain the mechanics?

@KaxMisha D.Tecs is not that grippy. I've seen and played with it.. it's very quick. I've read that he likes to use 1.6mm sponge under his pimples, so it'd be very fast.. but I'm sure his skill in chopping can utilise that speed.

Anyway, the long pips smash feeling is quite different to inverted, but it's not impossible. You see he only uses it when the ball is high, unlike an inverted backhand. Usually it's a flat forward hit for maximum speed with little to no spin (due to the pimples)

@KaxMisha It's not that hard to smash with the long pips. First of all it depends on the structure and hardness of the long pimples. I find it easier to smash with a hard pimples vs soft. Second remember to keep your blade open. Third practice!!!!
