If you're doing a long distance move, NEVER rent UHaul. The dealers don't give a shit about the state of the ones reserved for that because they'll never see that truck again. Local moves, I guess they're okay, but why bother? Go with one more reputable like Budget or Enterprise.

You don't have to be Einstein to figure out exactly where the gas leak came from, and the source of ignition very conveniently engineered right below it. Well done Ford, well done.
@musicpad1 did you happen to think that was there to provide movement separation for when the motor moves differant from the fuel line hence why semis have a thing called a flex pipe on the exhaust thats why they did it think abour it.

Look, i would have gone for a penske truck for that long journey. I've rented 2 u-hauls in the past and they're fine for short trips. But u-haul keeps their trucks for too long. Penske replaces thier fleet regularly. If you buy a used Penske its still drivable. Also, i don't know whether anyone else has noticed this but Fedex uses Penske trucks when their trucks break down.

They should have discounted our truck since it was their fault and not ours, but they didn't. I will never use another UHaul product ever again.
no doubt, those trucks have an external filter and cooler so theres more tranny hoses than hard lines and they are awfully close to the exhaust. one more truck i dont have to work on! woooo!
A single "pop" was felt under the passenger seat about 20 seconds before this happened. Our best guess is that the tranny line broke and sprayed flammable liquid all over a hot engine block. The pop wasn't big at all, in fact, it felt like a rock had hit underneath the wheel well.
