That rhythm the police was using as they marched forward was very familiar to me. Then I realized I had heard it on the History Channel before. And then the close up of the police moving forward, beating their shields and doing the small left-right shuffle step. It is the exact same technique used by the Roman Army. Not the long distance march, but the shuffle-step used in phalanx formation into a hostile enemy force in close quarters.
