@stevensteven339 Thanks Stevensteven. It's good to hear peoples opinion AFTER using the machine. We usually get it the other way around from those that choose to remain ignorant.
@Firebird7478 #1. You watch too many infomercials with the scantly clad models. Looks are very deceiving. I don't have a big ego so I'm not into the big muscles. I can guarantee 90% of the people that you would consider "decent shape" won't check out that well and most of them will have an older heart because of cortisol which comes too much exercise.
Am I the only one who couldn't stop laughing throughout this video? Your grunting noises are simply the best. Fortunately this over-glorified overpriced rowing machine is also a joke. FYI you can apply the 4 minute 'tabata' protocol to *ANY* exercise and machine. Try it on an Airdyne, which BTW, can be had for less than 200 dollars on craigslist. lol.
@norxcontacts Please explain your view. With certain back issues that is what I instruct. Otherwise rounding your back provides a complete muscle stretch and contraction. With Quick Gym the amount of resistance is according to the strength of your muscles. Thanks
@TheCityslikernp Asking one question will explain how much she knows about it. "have you ever used one?" I can personally promise you she hasn't. :-) Give her a challenge to use one properly first then talk about it. After one experience with my coaching, when she's done puking, she will say "I BELIEVE". Happens every time. Lol.
@zamamattiolo Ronnie is not man enough to use this. Lou Ferrigno did two minutes a few times and thought it was a joke. After he was challenged to do four minutes he was toast and he wanted one.
@1962davidlee dumb comments? I was just pointing out the obvious, come on man, if you want to make videos about how much money you make doing nothing all day, go ahead, but don't insult everyone who comments on your video.
The fact remains, it's a bulky, over-priced rowing machines, but hey if you got money to blow on junk, go right ahead. You probably own every expensive thing ever put on an infomercial too, congratulations.
Why the heck would anyone call this a scam, I think it's a glorified rowing machine. I think it could be good for some gym where they don't mind buying over priced equipment, but for anyone who has under 7 figures, save your money.
A scam tricks people into believing it's something it's not, but I think most people could see that it's obviously overpriced.
So I get the argument goes something like this: You use more percentage of your muscles in the same amount of time. Well, have you ever tried kettlebells? They are (alot) cheaper, take up less room and I am absolutely confident you activate more muscles while performing a kettlebell swing than doing this exercise.
At 20 years old navaret86 you have plenty of time and it's great you stay in "perfect" shape. Our program is targeted for the professional that has a career, family and their time is very valuable and limited, typically over the age of 40, and isn't worried about having the "perfect" body but more importantly a healthy body. I am very glad to hear you do sprints and not running. So many don't understand the importance of PROPER exercise. Thanks
i can get my perfect body 150 lb with 10% body fat in 4 months and it cost me : NOTHING... just hard workout, sprint, swinming, basketball... and healthy diet!.. IMPOSIBLE IS NOTHING!... people stop dreaming and start exercising!
lol stupid looking junk wouldn't trade my gym membership for that horrid looking device. funny how he is defending something that nobody wants to be seen in. I woudn't believe he says n e ways just another stubborn old guy convincing me that the machine will do me good.
@brad22ex Yes, Chuck Norris is in great shape. And you believe the infomercials that lead you to believe he got in that kind of shape using the total gym? If that's the case I have some ocean front property I want to sell you in Co.
How many of those are used for a cloths rack because of TIME? According to statistic's, 93% of home equipment is not used after the first 90 days because of TIME. Is your time valuable? If not purchase a total gym.
@EpicNinja123 I'm willing to bet you own a motorized vehicle. Right? you can get the same results with a bicycle that cost only $20. So why do you own a car?
Truth is, a rowing and stepping machine will only give you a very small fraction of the results the ROM will and of course if your health and time are of no value than I highly recommend purchasing those.
You were huffing and puffing after the 1st interval (20-40 sec) because you did not do a proper warm up to allow your muscle to get accustom to the stress of the interval
Although expensive, I do believe when used properly, this CAN be a good machine. To use the gimmick of 4 minutes workout to advertize this machine is just plain wrong and a disservice to the fitness in general.
@ciardi1983 The design of the machine is for 100% at start up & without previous injuries, you will not injure yourself. A fact for 20 yrs.
For this exercise 20 seconds is plenty of warm up. No matter the warm up though after 20 seconds of 100% you will be huffing and puffing. I did pull my self off the seat on purpose for the video to show the intensity, otherwise your rear should stay on the seat. You believe the 4 minutes advertised is wrong and a disservice because you haven't used it.
@ciardi1983 When you fully understand the workout program then you will fully understand how the lie of 20+ minutes is a disservice to all the uneducated public. This program will give you more in 4 minutes than any other program will in an 1.5-2 hrs.
If you ever get a chance or nerve :-) to try one, do a proper "warm up" and then work 100% of your effort and in your first 20-40 seconds you will be huffing and puffing. Emphasis on 100%.
While I believe any exercise is better than none, I'm not going to critices this machine, but the method you did the 4 minutes.
Your warm up was 20 secs and4.5 strokes, after that you were at 100% (by the fact you were pulling so hard you came off the seat). I don't believe any muscle can the warmed up in 20 secs and at 100% capability. Doing this is asking for injuries every time you use it.
I believe the overriding issue for most of us is novelty. Those who have no required athletic skill / attribute set for competitive success, work out in whatever manner catches our interest. This is why most machines end up in "Play It Again sports"; not laziness, lack of results, or faulty equipment, (tho these are also realities), but lost novelty. Bad enough when a $100 or $500 piece becomes a clothes hanger in the corner, but at $1465 + $185 + $hipping$, novelty gets tough to achieve.
@lazur1 While I agree that novelty is an issue, statistic's show that 93% of people stop exercising because of time. The cost of a QG isn't for the hourly worker. That's why in the past it has been purchased by like of the Navy Seals, Special Forces, Chicago Bears, Denver Broncos, Tony Robbins (3) Axle Rose, Tom Cruise, Sylvester Stallion and World Welter Weight Champion in full contact Karate Dan Magnus. Being in top condition is important and there time is money.
@lazur1 I do want to thank you for your very intelligent inquiry. Many times I get the dumbest comments as well as the dumbest (belligerent) language because of a lack of vocabulary. Our focus isn't on selling the machine but memberships to our fitness clubs. This is much more reasonable.
YES: The reversing, accommodating resistance on QG is the best way to do the most work in the shortest time, but you've added a few new claims I disagree with: 1/RMs are commonly, successfully used for cardio. 2/ If one spends more than a few hundred on a RM, & uses it correctly: No injuries, no joint stress, no muscle "overstress', (whatever that is). Misuse of any machine can be injurious, even a QG. 3/Contrary to your (& Weider's) claim, muscle density is genetic. You either add mass or not.
@lazur1 Disagreeing with the claims is expected :-). That still doesn't change the facts of the health improvements that have been by members of our fitness clubs. Fact, understanding and comprehending the facts requires use of our equipment. The thing with the ROM is it's dummy proof. Providing you have no previous injuries, medical conditions or medications that may be effected by exercise, short of falling off of it while getting on, there is no chance of injury without deliberate misuse.
@lazur1 Continuing. In consideration of previous injuries, the injury will be the deciding factor as to your fitness level so you work it according to that level.
Muscle overstress causes soreness and bulk and when done too fast cause injury to the tendons, joints and ligaments. Talk to "body builders" that have torn the muscle off the bone. Not everyone wants bulk. While the amount of density is genetic, you can create more density. QG creates more dense muscle using only concentric motion.
p1: Indeed, not everyone wants bulk, but bulk's a product of genetics, diet, & strength building. Most people can't develop great mass no matter what they do, & those who can get much of it no almost matter what -they- do. Bodybuilder's tears come from unbalanced development steroids cause: Strong muscles / Brittle tendons. The only sense that density's increased via training is actually -leanness-: Body density, as muscle's heavier than fat, not true muscle density.
pt2: Conclusions re effects of concentric / eccentric training: Based on running up & down stairs: Too many unique variables to be applied to training. (Tho they are:-) If you have: 1/genetic potential, 2/caloric surplus. & 3/ Train to keep getting stronger: You will have great mass. The only way someone '"in danger" of getting too massive can avoid it is to eat less or consciously avoid getting stronger after a certain point. The rest of us "avoid it" genetically.
@lazur1 I understand your point and am happy that you find their explanations flawless, because they are and with use of the QG they are even more understandable. The claims I make are from the experiences I have working with members of our gym. I also state that any athlete that doesn't use the QG can increase speed, strength and endurance with one 8 minute session. I talk with athletes personally that have experienced my claims, thus the reason for my claims Visit youtube.com/user/1962davidlee
For 14,000 dollars you could buy a deluxe gym membership @ $50 per month for 280 months which is 23.33 years of working out, where that machine is going to break down. after 10 or at least you will lost interest in that boring machine after 10 years.
@1962davidlee i think your analogy is terrible. this machine for the money is a TERRIBLE value to say the least. the profit margin on this machine has to be at least 1300%. it's just a ridiculous machine that is set at a very high price point. you must sell these machines or make money off of them to even back this machine at all. watching "you", that guy, workout on it looks terribly unergonomic. and the stair machine on the other side is only a stair master on the back.
I was referring to the commercial treadmills you find in a gym. Their prices are quite high. Usually you have to contact the company to get a price quote. But,, very true, a gym membership gives you access to them.
@1962davidlee Go easy Tex I was just messing with you. And you are correct I am no mechanical engineer but a civil engineer. Am no genius but well above average. Let it be said I 100% agree with the HIIT approach to cardio and overall fitness. Most do not believe in this but I do. You are very lien and obviously use the machine. As you said yourself the machine is not for everyone. I, myself, can just not afford something like this. The machine was 'pounding' a bit wouldn't you agree?
@thrillofthechase3313 Ok! My apologies. People usually because of a low IQ they are sarcastic about the clothes because they don't understand the concept and from a 150 members at 5 locations there are maybe 5 that change or come in "workout" clothes. The machine weighs 405 lbs. Working it at a lesser intensity it won't pound as much or making sudden stops at either end of the stride. I also shouldn't be raising my rear off the seat at all.
Now I see...its not the intensity of the workout that matters, its the size of the belt buckle that is the most important. To think all this time I have been doing my cardio in shorts and tennis shoes not cow boy boots, blue jeans and a long sleeve shirt.
BTW, the way this machine was pounding there is no way that cheap tube metal would hold up for more than six months.
@thrillofthechase3313 That's funny. You must be a "wantabe" mechanical engineer because as mistaken as your judgment of the strength of metal is it is obviously better than your knowledge of exercise. I won't flatter you with the actual age of the machine (in a commercial fitness club), the actual size of the belt buckle or even the actual length of the sleeves on my shirt, of which according to your statement above, the latter one alone must be higher than your IQ.
When you start out with a rower your ability is way above resistance (you can do several reps). Fatigue sets in & you can't do another rep. QG The resistance perfectly matches your ability every second of every stroke. It's impossible to be more than you can do, but it's all you can do.
Upper body/lower body 8 minutes vs rower. The rower works a very small fraction of total muscles no matter the time with no lower body workout. (CORRECTION, RM can provide Cardio/Aerobic when done CORRECTLY.
hmm 4 minutes of spasming on a 15,000 dollar death trap. or a pair of 50 dollar running shoes and a half an hour to go and clear my head. hard decision their
@Kazi900o like perhaps that he's working out in jeans, buckled leather belt and a collared shirt, doesn't even break a sweat by the end and can still form coherent sentences at the end of the workout? Right. He's convinced me alright (sarcasm).
@gwnngwnn Good to see you here Gwen. As long as you are able to express yourself in a professional and sensible manner I'll leave your post on this site. I'll be happy to explain any question you have, again, so long as you can be lady enough not to use vulgar language on my site. While comprehending the workout is impossible without trying it, it's very easy to understand it.
How do you think kettlebell exercises compares to the ROM Time Machine workout? By the way, your form is incorrect. You're not supposed to come off of the seat.
kmvespe.. You do understand the concept of interval training right? Like a middle distance runner using sprints to add variety. It is still running, but it shocks the muscles over plateaus.. You CAN interval train on this machine..
Hmmm...the plateau concern is legit, but not unique to this machine, and thus irrelevant. I'm not sure why the price of this machine offends people. There are treadmills that cost 10 grand, yet few challenge their efficacy or howl "RIPOFF!", though running is obviously free. At least the ROM does 2 modes. I can think of a much bigger waste of money. For example, buying a treadmill for 8,000 and a nice segway for 6,000 and then riding your segway in place on your treadmill.
@openuniverse2003 I was referring to the commercial treadmills you find in a gym. Their prices are quite high. Usually you have to contact the company to get a price quote. But,, very true, a gym membership gives you access to them.
@openuniverse2003 Take a look at a company website, such as Life Fitness, you will notice they divide the site into home vs. commercial products. In order to find the price of the commercial products you must contact the company. You can get a home product for a few hundred bucks, but the commercial products found in gyms run in the thousands, much like the ROM. High quality product = high price tag. Expensive, but effective. Not a scam.
I tried one today and it kicked my butt! It reminded me of an Arthur Jones Era Nautilus workout and then Followed by snowshoeing in Quiksand with someone chasing you.
@uncleavi2002 Thanks for the comment and for trying it out. Where did you try it. Occasionally there are blogs from people that try to critique it with out try it. The name for the video is mocking a lady that named her video the same but never would consent to the fact that it might really work, and as usual, refused to try one.
Isn't this thing like over 10 grand to buy?

As with others you didn't confront the time issue.
Tony Robbins owns 3. He earns millions an hour. 20 minute of kettlebells would cost him thousands.
If your time is worth nickles then purchase nickle equipment.
The maserati MC 12 Corsa cost 1.7 million because it will go 202 mph & 0-60 in about 3 sec.

The machine was 'pounding' a bit wouldn't you agree?
thrillofthechase3313 1 year ago
@thrillofthechase3313 Ok! My apologies. People usually because of a low IQ they are sarcastic about the clothes because they don't understand the concept and from a 150 members at 5 locations there are maybe 5 that change or come in "workout" clothes. The machine weighs 405 lbs. Working it at a lesser intensity it won't pound as much or making sudden stops at either end of the stride. I also shouldn't be raising my rear off the seat at all.
Thanks.
1962davidlee 1 year ago
Now I see...its not the intensity of the workout that matters, its the size of the belt buckle that is the most important. To think all this time I have been doing my cardio in shorts and tennis shoes not cow boy boots, blue jeans and a long sleeve shirt.
BTW, the way this machine was pounding there is no way that cheap tube metal would hold up for more than six months.
thrillofthechase3313 1 year ago
@thrillofthechase3313 That's funny. You must be a "wantabe" mechanical engineer because as mistaken as your judgment of the strength of metal is it is obviously better than your knowledge of exercise. I won't flatter you with the actual age of the machine (in a commercial fitness club), the actual size of the belt buckle or even the actual length of the sleeves on my shirt, of which according to your statement above, the latter one alone must be higher than your IQ.
Are you a runner?
1962davidlee 1 year ago
How is this any better than a (much cheaper) rowing machine?
BushmasterXM15E2S 1 year ago
@BushmasterXM15E2S That is a great Question. It really depends on what your goals are.
RM 18% of muscle use, QG 55% muscle use
RM Over stresses joints, QGStresses joints only to ability
RM Over stresses muscle, QG Stresses Muscle only to maximum ability
RM Builds Muscle Mass, QG Builds Muscle Density, very little bulk if any
RM Concentric/Eccentric, QG Eccentric motion only,
RM No Cardio/Aerobic, QG Cardio/Aerobic
RM Higher Injury Rate, QG No possibility injury
RM No leg workout, QG Leg exercise

@jackson15williams It isn't for everyone. You should talk to our members that "used" to be runners :-) Happy New Year friend.

There is just so many things wrong with this video/machine...

@Kazi900o Would you tell me a few? Thanks.
1962davidlee 1 year ago

Thanks you for your time.
Sincerely
David Lee

Dave,
How do you think kettlebell exercises compares to the ROM Time Machine workout? By the way, your form is incorrect. You're not supposed to come off of the seat.
InfoCannibal 1 year ago
I tried this one time, amazing. Before you say it doesn't work try it once.
MattandEllavideos 1 year ago
@MattandEllavideos it's not that it doesn't work, it's just that it's a glorified row machine/stair stepper, for $15000 dollars.
Kazi900o 1 year ago
We use 20 sec interval training on the QuickGym. It is no impact.
1962davidlee 1 year ago
kmvespe.. You do understand the concept of interval training right? Like a middle distance runner using sprints to add variety. It is still running, but it shocks the muscles over plateaus.. You CAN interval train on this machine..
mjwoodruff 1 year ago
Oh, and Mr. Lee, you're a maniac on that thing. I hope business is good!
BTM37 1 year ago
Hmmm...the plateau concern is legit, but not unique to this machine, and thus irrelevant. I'm not sure why the price of this machine offends people. There are treadmills that cost 10 grand, yet few challenge their efficacy or howl "RIPOFF!", though running is obviously free. At least the ROM does 2 modes. I can think of a much bigger waste of money. For example, buying a treadmill for 8,000 and a nice segway for 6,000 and then riding your segway in place on your treadmill.
Just a thought :)
BTM37 1 year ago
@BTM37 What treadmills cost 10 grand? You can get treadmills for a few hundred bucks, else use a stationary bike or join a health club/gym.

It reminded me of an Arthur Jones Era Nautilus workout and then Followed by snowshoeing in Quiksand with someone chasing you.
uncleavi2002 1 year ago
@uncleavi2002 Thanks for the comment and for trying it out. Where did you try it. Occasionally there are blogs from people that try to critique it with out try it. The name for the video is mocking a lady that named her video the same but never would consent to the fact that it might really work, and as usual, refused to try one.
1962davidlee 1 year ago
@1962davidlee Palm Beach Gardens Florida. I think one thing a lot of people have a problem with is confusing Volume with Intensity.
uncleavi2002 1 year ago
@uncleavi2002 That's a great explanation. I never thought of it in those words. Thanks
