I have an issue with the music industry and all the politicking that goes on. in the early 90s some outstanding entertainers were dropped by a label - Andy Childs, Confederate Railroad, Aaron Tippin and Lari White in particular. Good music is good music, and Restless Heart ranks up there with the best. Fan loyalty cannot be bought either! Love love love these guys and their sound!
Restless Heart is back Together and touring. They played at the 3rd largest Casino in the US...at Thackerville, Oklahoma...the Winstar Casino. Sold out performance ...
All I would like to know is what the heck kind of amp is the guitar man playing? I thought it was a Boogie from a distance, then once the camera zoomed in I saw that it wasn't......hmmmmmmmmmmm.......... does anybody know? If so, please enlighten me!! Thanks!
@unionfiddler , a yamaha solid state. If you notice everyone is playing a yamaha product.. I'm sure it wasnt on the record! Jazz guys swear by the amp...
Restless is still going strong and sound as good as then did back then, and everyone of the guys is still as sweet as ever. They have a website and they also are on facebook. Look them up they would love it
They were the reason I started listening to country again,,, I still enjoy them,, when I can get the cassette player to work,,,,,they were really an awesome band
This was a put together band like the country band era but they were good musicians backing Larry Stewart for sure. My thing is this is how a music video should look and how a drum set should look and a guitar solo with slide nice. What is with the look and the way they mike and record durms now. What is the big deal with Taylor Awift I mean did anyone really over 18 really give her horrible thing on MTV a secone thought?
The comparison to the Eagles is actually pretty common for these guys. Similar music style, and their harmony is very similar, as well. Certainly, the best of the best!
i wonder what ever happened to these guys, i was a hard core fan, met them, had autographs, yeah a groopie at my age!! go figure....but they have the best harmony I had heard in a long time, and yes the Eagles were the last band to have that. I wish these guys would get back together... i miss this kind of music!!
This is the first song I ever heard from Restless Heart, I was 16, and I had to buy the album, & every one that's come out since. So glad to here they are releasing a new one, and touring again. Best music & vocals in the business. They ought to just re-release this song again. Better than anything else on the radio right now.
Didn't this video have a shot of the actress cooling down with a water hose? One of these videos did, I thought it was this one, does anyone remember which video that was in? Any help, thanks
Larry's vocals are so awesome! I loved these guys as a kid and I still do! This is one of my favorite songs by them. =) I also like Fast Movin' Train and The Bluest Eyes In Texas! They actually came through my town and performed, but I had to work that night. =(
In any case, Restless Heart will never die! Keep going strong, guys! ^_^
Man...I used to listen to them all the time...brings back great memories....I used to wish I could sing like him and look like him.....guess I had a man crush!
GOD I love this one...that guitar line is so distinctive. I hit repeat on this one whenever I'm playing the CD and I swear I listen to just that one track all day....damn, there's just no one else like them. This is my alltime favorite of their work, and the rest rank right up there, too...
80's and 90's country music had a distinguished sound. In today's music you don't hear that anymore, except for a few here and there. This is the kind of country music I miss hearing on the radio.
restless heart kicks ass. This song and other 80's country ones takes me back to my single digits. I'd hear these songs on our local radio station (which has been gone since 1994) while my dad and me driving arround in the country. I miss the 80's!!!
what sucks is you don't see these old videos on tv anywhere now except maybe occasionaly on GAC. CMT used to have their signature series show several years ago that had these and i taped many of them. Plus i have more i taped from 1988 to 1990.
Very nicely done......video backdrop has to be Southwest Oklahoma, harmony is right there with Crosby, Stills & Nash, Larry Stewart: need anything else be said?
The first time I heard this song I was a sleep on my couch with MTV on and this haunting melody woke me up. I didn't listen to the lyrics but I just loved the music and harmony. I was in a relationship identical to the songs story line and the next time I saw her I want her to listen to this beautiful song and it broke her heart. She listened to the lyrics and started crying uncontrollably and said that's me. It took 10 years to get her but we have been married for 16 years now. God bless RH.
This was the first video I seen from Larry Stewart & the gang, hooked me on RESTLESS HEART from then on. The best vocals & harmonies in country music, then & now.
what ever happened to this band. If it wasn't for them I would have never listened to country music. They were so great and versatile and they had a great sound.
They regrouped and played in NE Texas about a year ago. Several from my band went and seen them and said they sang 5 vocal parts and that the vocal and music was virtuoso quality and this was done at a small night club. One of the best groups out there.

i could honestly rank them with Eagles talent for the foundation of the new country sound. But then, the bass player is from my home town. haha

One of the few groups that sound as good live as they do on the radio, or CD.
Excellent music with lots of feeling, emotion.
Greatest country ban.
