I usually think the "two types of people in this world" statements are total bullshit, but the one in the vid description is pretty fuckin accurate. Really no way to argue with that.
one of the best brian tylers soundtracks.. maybe the best.. respect it and buy it and listen to it and play it if you can.. (guitar tabs are googleable).. very nice song
the end was so sad, the music really made it too, Bruce Campbell and Ossie Davis are heroes, lets face it Campbell has never been given the credit he deserved and maybe the same is true of ossie too, there is something inherently sad about seeing a such a great film like this and knowing it will be overlooked because it wasn't a plethora of ripped off scenes!
I hope Ossie is up in heaven doing the nasty with cleopatra :D
I love this movie! Just watched it the other day & I forgot Reggie was in it. Bruce & Reggie should do an off the chain action/horror/comedy with the boomstick & the quadbarrel. Oh yeah & the ice cream suit!
Watched it and it instantly went into my everlasting collection of great movies! Bruse is simply ... legend... and this movie is made for him.... And Brian Tyler gave oh so much to the atmosphere of the movie... 10/10
named my last bit of music after this film so i think i'll cut some of this up and make a new video........i mean the story line alone is a classic...............great movie
i love this movie, so funny. i was just bummed at the end when he died. i wish it ended with him and jfk driving off to fight off more mummies, sad ending.
Another kind of people is the kind that would make this video and this music combined. PhoohPahh, and it may not mean much from another weak, susceptible, corruptible human...life...But, well. well... you have this one's admiration and respect from this one.
The more I watch this movie, the more subtle things start to pop up. Like when he's traveling down the highway and flips his visor down. It's saying that he's rushing to get as much living in before the clock winds down. What a good movie. One of, if not the, best Campbell's done to date
from my limited experience here it is all about the subtleties. And that is the nice thing about life. Those who would have been master's have long since to breathe oxygen so us speculators are all that's left!
I saw the movie for the first time in job corps and that is exactly what i thought when i saw it, he knew he was winding down, so he wanted to get as much out of life as he could.
this is the perfect movie. Funny, actiony, very emotional, AMAZING soundtrack, sad, heroic... Everything a good movie needs to be FUCKING AWESOME. And Brian, Bruce, Ossie and Don pulled it off perfectly.
@Iwatchtrek Tell me about it.. first time I saw this film I was on one hell of a come down.. that, then this film left me an emotional wreck for hours. Days, even.
LOL at the bit where he was fighting the cockroach. In fact the whole film is full of hilarious moments. I particularly agree about the ending, it was somehow riduculous and moving at the same time.
WHo plays this music? It is amazing...I feel like I could listen to it all day. It makes me sad and happy at the same time. Maybe its just feel good music...I dunno I cant put my finger on it...I just love it
this film was strangely good. I knew i'd enter an entertaining film judging by the premise and everybody's hero Bruce Campbell.... but the film has a strange inspiring element to it.. and the music is fantastic
i waited 4 years to see this film and it was brilliant the soundtrack is one of the best soundtracks ive ever heard and i was holding back the tears at the credits because of the final music
Bubba Ho-Tep was an awesome movie... easily one of the best I've ever seen despite being low budget. It combines the horror element with a story of growing old and looking at your life in retrospect.
The soundtrack is also extremely good too!
Bruce Campbell was amazing as Elvis... funny, cocky without being an asshole and 100% believable... and Ossie Davis was an awesome JFK (or slight cook who thinks he's JFK, whichever it is).
If the world we live in were a little more dull I never would have been moved to tears by the final scene of a movie about Elvis taking on an Egyptian Mummy. And yet I cried my freaking eyes out.
They really had you buying into the character 100% in this movie. Most movies it's like yeah yeah our hero dies, so sad (sarcasm), but in Bubba Ho-Tep it was sad, but happy at the same time too as we all know what the "alternative" ending to this movie could have been.
Absolutely a masterpiece - I couldn't agree more. It sounds so hokey to tell the people the title and say I laughed, I got a little scared, and I cried like a baby at the end, but it's so true. This movie could have been slaughtered in the wrong hands & w/the wrong actors, but it wasn't. Love it. Absolutely love it.
Love the movie and I admire Bruce Campbell. One of the best underated actors in Hollywood. He always keeps it real. Not to forget the great Ossie Davis in one of his last performances. It's amazing to see someone like him do a offbeat movie like this. It just showed he had a great sense of humor.
good film, it is sad though, coz he really was elvis, and every one thought he was just an inpersinator, and they thought the real elvis was dead, when in actuall fact he was elvis. really sad. and they picked a good soundtrack for it.
you sure you are an after dinner eagle, not a 'desert' eagle? hmm. but yes, great film and i agree, quite sad, but the beautiful sort of sad, makes me love elvis more. i love movies with a repeating soundtrack, like Dead Man. there is something moving about them. and just a thought, but think twice about him being the real undead elvis. campbell like elvis will live forever though.
i know i have heard this "song" (i mean the SOUND of the song, the melody) somtime before...does anyone know, what the name of the song is? does anyone know what i mean at all? ;-D
Brian Tyler, who wrote and performed this song, has used the same melody, or parts of it, elsewhere. I've heard several places, including at least one of his film scores. Sorry, don't remember which one.
That's not unusual. Mark Knopfler has done the same thing. Actually, this track is somewhat Knopfleresque. Great movie; great soundtrack.
Loved his comment about his pecker after seeing the young shielas arse something about it having a quiver just like a pigeon having a heart attack. Classic!
Me, too. This movie comes across as a bent comedy at first glance, but it's far deeper than that. Two old guys with no one but each other, living out their last days, condescended to - treated like infants by their caretakers. Like Bruce says, "a 68 yr old Elvis and a black JFK get a chance at redemption, and go out as heroes." An awesome movie.
some people, like say copperjones just don't understand quality,or a movie with JFK and Elvis fighting a mummumy who feeds off the souls of old folks, and someone willing to pay tribute to such a masterpiece doesn't understand anything and should keep his comments to himself,
