When I landed the shuttle back in 2002 there was a French astronaut on board and he kept talking all the time and I was like "shut up, I don't talk French-talk" and he was like, "jeuz de'vouz del taco" and then I punched him right as the wheels hit the ground.
your talking crap LCPstud. I dont belive any thing of your stupid storys, till you tell me the missions that(you were on) the shuttles you were in(what happened on the missions( and special momentss or speeches from the crew that the cams didnt record or things that made problems... etc and ull tell me how a space shuttle works and on wich seat (or position you was on in the shuttle
I was on mission STS-694, pilot in command of the Space Shuttle Galileo. On that mission we did a spacewalk to install lasers on the ISS, flew to the Hubble and washed the mirrors with special space windex, and took a lot of pictures. And I already told you a funny moment from landing with the French guy.
As PIC I sat in the left seat. STS works by using rockets and junk. Then it glides down on wings or something.
Trust me, I am an astronaut. I used to fly F-14s for the German navy.
The first time I flew on the space shuttle I was just a mission specialist. I worked the manipulator arm.
On the flight we had a German guy, and every time we flew over Europe I made the arm do one of those Nazi arm salutes, and I would say, "Klaus, does this remind you of anything?"
He would get mad and scream, "Diesen fahrplan kann icht nicht verstehen!"
That was a near perfect crosswind landing. It was correctly performed by Scott Kelly when he touched down with the left gear first, as the crosswind was coming from the left, at an angle of about 40 degrees. You always want to land with a slight bank towards the crosswind to avoid getting extra lift under one wing.
@LCPStud Are you just completly full of shit?

@JORDIxRx
That is NO WAY to talk to a national hero and NASA astronaut. Shame on you. Were you raised by hyenas or something? What kind of manners do you have?
Here I am, trying to give some insight into what goes on during a mission and you say these mean things to me.
The nerve of some people.

@LCPStud Haha.. Thumbs up to you sir.. You are hilarious.. Not in a sarcastic way, in a humourous way.. Thumbs up to you sir..

This was from a NASA-TV replay. The orbiter is already on the ground. The comms you are hearing are the post-landing checklists being worked through.

Way off the center. I wonder if those cross winds were pretty bad. He even landed left wheel first.

Looks pretty central on external video. Piloted from the right seat would give the impression of off centre in a pilot's view.
