Mr. Snipes produced the first Blade. He used the first "video game" type CGI for the fight scene with the daughter of the old vamp.. in front of the "Flood lights".

He took a chance. He even with all his skills and his stunt team, could not physically do the "ultra human" vampire movements. So for a cpl of tenths of a second or so here and there in this fight sequence looks amazing. I think he made a great choice.

After the last film, which was nice and high budget, I still wanted more. Blade

They also had some great stories including the pilot that was co-written by Geoff Johns of Smallville and DC Comics . It didn't help that it was on Spike TV.
