btw i am still using it (replying now from this laptop), yes it is slower and i need a cooler. but i can do my job without any problems + watch HD movies :)

I have an hp dv6921 Turion 64x2 processor + nvidia, sometimes I think you could fry eggs on it. turion is normal for up to 100 Celsius, but your problem is probably due to ventilation ducts are dirty, try cleaning them from the vents with compressed air.
it turns off because when it getts real warm or hot it will turn off because it need a break and some air. you can wait about ten minutes atleast and then it will be ok.

Nice video. I've got the dv6607tx (black..like yours) and just got the dv6875se the white one. It was a gift. I think the black one looks better and classy and the display looks on the black one because the black border obviously brings out the best in the display. I love the Pavillions.

im not positive, but i dont think that you can upgrade ram or hard drive space in a notebook due to them being integrated into the motherboard. you could buy an external hard drive with a a few hundred gig for about £100 ($200) but i dont think you can do alot about the ram problem (except for de-installing vista and putting on XP lol :P)
Yes you can upgrade both.. you just have to check what your computer is compatible with. I have the dv6426 but to my knowledge most of the dv6000's are very similar. To access the hard drive bay flip over ur notebook and look for the sign with the 3 disk looking things each one on top of each other. When u remove that lid u should be able to see ur hard drive and a piece of metal if u pop the piece of metal u should be able to grip it and pull your hard drive out... the RAM is also removable =]
Well, the dv4000 is kinda old though, and the model that I have though has an Intel Celeron M @ 1.50 ghz, which when using Windows XP, it isn't that slow, but hangs up very rarely. So eventhough it works It will mostlikely be replaces by an HP 17" lapotp or 15.4" speical edition laptop. I can't choose! ..lol

Really? I got a dv4000 from 2005 (for my high school graduation) and it just died a couple weeks ago, so now I have a brand new dv6000. I am in love.
