I have Hemiplegia CP. I was diagnosed at11 months old in May of 1994. Now I am 16 years old. I am only 4'8 tall. I been loved by best friends & cousins forever
My elder adoptive son Lahcen had severe cerebral palsy too and he looked like yours. I am so touched when I see your son because I believe it is my son's video!
does this affect his intelligence? i see can see that you are treating him as if he is 3 years old.. is this part of the condition? and is it true that children with cp develop later than those without it? im so glad to see that you guys are so happy and joyful. A happy environment is great =)
I do belive so that kids with cp do develope at a later date if given proper medical treatment,It is importtant to love and nurture the child as if he was younger , I have a best friend that has 2 twin boys who is now 7 yrs old. One of the boys have severe cp he could not do anything on his own i mean he was like an infant (this was back when he was 6 yrs old) He has sergery to fix his legiments in his legs and feet. so e could steighten out like standing potition.
He is doing good and learning the things at 7 yrs old like say a 3 yr old would be learning.. shapes.colors ,and sounds. He is also walking with help. His brother does not have it as bad, and only had sergery on his lower legs, was on a reverse walker ,then a cane, now he can walk without help. he is slow but is striving to achieve his best..
I have other friends that has a 12 yr old that has CP he can do a lot on his own, he is smart, reading writing ,talking he can play on computers,, His mobility is the only problem he has the plastic braces on his legs and uses the reverse walker. He is doing fine.
As a mom of a c.p. child You soon realize that certain positions that are normal for some wont work for others so before you critisize his leg rests position wonder to yourself is he comfortable?
How rich you are. I think some of the parents out there with so called normal kids miss out on alot. Your boy is an angel on earth. Thanks for sharing him.
brycen had a dislocated hip at the time, and one leg was shorter then the other. He has had hip sugery twice since then. That is why his legrests were uneven, thanks for your concern though, and thanks for watching.
since birth...it happens when the brain is not supplied with enough oxygen at birth for whatever reason. Therefore, there is no "gene" for this disability.
He is simply awesome! I have a 14 year old with cp who does the same thing :o) Loves to shake his head "no" and then laugh! Our kiddos rock! Thanks for sharing!
you´re doing fine! your kid looks happy.i myself had an accident in 2001 and have to learn walking and talking again,my parents help me in every possible way.
Ehrm, high functioning autism? Don't know if you saw any association between autism and CP but... I apparently was misdiagnosed with CP in my childhood and suspect myself in being slightly autistic.
