We went in there about 25 years ago, through the lower entrance below the road. We didn't fancy roping down! See my slideshow and more info by searching for "jethou1" or "german war tunnels"
Will have to give the old crew a shout and see if they feel like doing a bit of hunting! Actually we did find one the the Beaumont tunnels (just off the left hand side of the hill as you go up and down a slope), but if i remember (the memories are coming back slowly) it looked far too sketchy and we gave it a miss!
Ahaa ... well you'll have to see if you can find it ! - I wouldn't want to spoil the mystery for you !! - it's not HO2 and you can get to the escape shaft we went down without upsetting anyone ( ish ). Happy hunting !!
Actually i might have got the wrong tunnel! Is this HO2? The ones we missed was the mushroom tunnel on the west side on the road up to the living legend. And for some other reason that i cant remember the tunnels off Beaumont Hill. I seem to remember having a good look for these ones, but couldnt quite work out the exact location (and didn't want to upset any land owners either)! I'm getting all nostalgic now and want to go exploring again!
Nice video guys. With the help of a map of German Fortifications purchased from the cafe at St Catherine's, myself and friends explored the vast majority of German Tunnels and Bunkers in the island back in my teenage years some 13 or 14 years ago. This is one of the few we missed. Very interesting!
Woa Crowley fan !! Don't lose your sense of humour here ... I was merely replying to your former comment of 'TWAT' etc etc. To clarify ... the tunnel in the film was of course the one on the east side of the valley. Narp - history not my greatest subject but I know which way is north and I know which tunnel we went in - the one to the East. The one to the West, so I am led to believe, was the tunnel used for gambling - unless you can enlighten me further? Thanks and Happy Christmas !!!!
Hi 777nnn ( Aleister Crowley fan ? ) Thanks for the info. The tunnel we where in there was actually the one on the other side of the valley - not the one used for gambling. Thanks.
You sure you are Jersey Boy, i think a visit to your shop for an appology is in order. To comment on things of a historic nature you need to have knowledge, you clearly do not shine in this area pipsqueek........

the valley Used to be a shooting range for locals,
German's ran out of cement plus many slaves sent back to france before end of war,
Because people dont ask owner permission he wants to block tunnels?
Just say please.
