this aircraft was in the davis-monthan military boneyard (in tucson) when i was stationed there in the early 70's. it was still in its original paint at that time, looking a bit faded, and just sitting there in the desert amidst rows of retired military aircraft. i'm sure it must have found a good home in a museum somewhere, or at least i hope so!

Once Johnston was flying on a commercial 707 when it started to do Dutch rolls. He made his way to the cockpit to find the pilots very whitefaced and agitated. They were not accustomed to flying swept-wing aircraft, so after Johnston introduced himself the pilot rapidly agreed to let him take the controls. The pilot then presumably went to find a barf bag.
