The scene where she finds out Marcel died was phenomenal. It sent chills down my spine. It's still one of the most memorable scenes I've ever seen in any film.
J'adore 'La Vie En Rose'. D'abord, je veux dire, que Marion Cotillard est une actrice extraordinaire. Ensuite, je dois féliciter Olivier Dahan pour avoir crée ce film. Félicitations! Jean ici, je suis d'Athenes!
It's simply the best movie that was ever done. Perfect music, also the piano arrangements by Christopher Gunning. Than the awesome Marion Cotillard, who did a wonderful job on this role and all that scenerey around Piaf, the old vehicles in the romantic Paris from the 1930ies till the 1960ies. It's the only film I really could watch over and over again. It's a great hommage to Piaf and could have helped to lead people back to real music, such as me. Simply a great film! Vive Cotillard, Vive Piaf
AWSOME I Just loved this movie from the beginning to the end. I really cried and was moved about what passes through Edith Piaf, Now i can't stop lestining to her beautiful songs, it reminds me the old authentical Paris. Paris nowadays's not the same besides. And Marion Cotillard was PERFECT to play that role. Unbelievable how she plays Edith Piaf!!! <3<3<3<3
When I watched this film, I wasn't sure how I would like it. I was swept away by the power of the story and the performances. Marion did a beautiful job and deserves all the recognition she gained from this role.
The makeup is stunning! When I watched the movie I spend half the time thinking how they managed to make her look 20 in the beginning and like an old lady in the end.
that one scene where marcel dies and she runs around screaming his name is one of the most well acted scenes ive seen in my life.. she has beyond amazing, derserved the oscar for sure!!! and the makeup was AMAZING!!! not only did she look like edith, but she looked a lot older, and keep in mind marion in real life is GORGEOUS!!! especially if you see her in nine
Una de las mejores interpretaciones y pelicula de los ultimos años, sin duda grandiosa, gracias a los creadores por arriesgarse y por su entrega en este film.
The performance of marion singing in the street, the nervous breakdown when her lover died, the walk of an old woman, the outrage, the sad and happy Piaf, superb performance. I watchedx the movie for the first time today. I think im going to watch it again. I saw it alone i want to see it with a friend to share the same feeling i had during the show.
Having just seen this movie i have no doubt this is one if not the best acting / production / direction in movie history it shows that real movies can still be made without the usual rubbish format of most current work ! the bar has been raised again , Best porformance of all time TEN STARS PLUS five do no justice
marion is so pretty! i really wasnt expecting her to be so beautiful but they're right, that make-up department did one heck of a job. she is an amazing actress!
I 1st saw this movie about 2 months ago and like a lot of people probably, i wasnt expecting anything great but i have to say........WOW! Marion's performance in that film, in my opinion has set the bar to a level that very few actors/actresses get to reach in their lifetime as an actor. I think its a film that will be talked about for many yrs to come, mainly because of marion's performance but also for the true-to-life detail of the person which really made it an all round fantastic film.
i absolutly loved this movie we whatched in french i didnt think i would like it that much but after we whatched it i was blown away but marion cotillards performance and the overall movie edith piafs songs really do speak to u
I wasn't expecting much b4 I saw this film, but Marion's performance truely touched my soul - her facial expressions tell so much about who Piaf was. I don't know what kind of person Piaf was, but thru Marion's performance, I get - she was strong but fragile, innocent, not particulary beautiful but adorable, passionate, incredibly sad who searched happiness in life, clumsy and who truely LOVED singing etc. I'm so facinated with Piaf, or perhaps, Marion's incredible performance now.
This movie touched my heart, is just amazing and Marion's interpretation is well worthy, perfect, excellent, no words can describe her performance and even more the great resemblace she makes of the Unforgettable and the Greatest Edith Piaf!!!!
She was just incredible, extraordinary, she disserves really all the award, oscar, golden globe, cesar and bafta. I love Marion Cotillard.(excuse me for my english, im french)

I saw the movie a few days ago and was absolutely blown away! I cannot imagine who would deserve this oscar more than she did... She did Piaf credit by portraying her in the way she did. In her case it's not (just) about imitating a caracter, she became Piaf. I almost had the feeling like what I was watching was a documentary.
Great job on the make-up! Marion Cotillard is a beautiful young woman in real life. They did an excellent job making her look old and sick!!! Absolutely fantastic movie!!
i coudnt agree anymore wit you..she didnt only play the part..but she BECAME piaf..indredible..i really enjoyed this movie..i could watch it a billion times without gettin tire of it.

Marion.. Sad but true, don't go to Hollywood... If you go there maybe you'll suffer the curse (Hunt, Paltrow, Swank, Berry and Witherspoon) or you'll stay in the limbo (Roberts, Kidman and Theron). You must stay in Europe Better roles in better places. Hollywood losts you not you
Je suis super heureuse car pour une fois que le cinéma français est remarqué à travers le monde, c'est génial ! Toute la France est très fière de Marion !
In english the film is called la vie en rose but original it is called La mome ( pardon the absence of accents) Can anyone share what the La mome would literally traslate to and how it id related to Piaf.
Yes, la môme is the nickname of Edith Piaf and Piaf is not her veritable name, Piaf is in relation with the nickname of a little bird cause she sang very well. I'm sorry for the explanation but I'm French ^^
This movie was one of the greatest Ive ever seen. Im a big fan of Piaf so I was expecting something big from this film and I was not disappointed! Marion's performance made me cry!Im so happy she won!
Ive nevr even heard of this movie before last night (the oscars) and when i like saw Marion singing when they showed her nominations i wanted to see it lol....i dont even speak French!
i don't think she sang in the movie the dictor used edith's voice (performance before she died) and others singers that what i've heard in lots of places which is totally sad becuse marion is a great singer (backstage at oscar) maybe and hopefull she sang some parts in the movie :)
marion cotillard ..it's not only "la môme" it's: -Big fish -une grande année (with risley scott) -dikkenek -fair play -mary -la boite noire (the black box) -un long dimanche de fiancaille (with gaspard ulliel ==> Hannibal) -jeux d'enfants *** -Taxi 1,2,3 -les jolies choses -furia and much more
The scene where she finds out Marcel died was phenomenal. It sent chills down my spine. It's still one of the most memorable scenes I've ever seen in any film.
