It's simply the best movie that was ever done. Perfect music, also the piano arrangements by Christopher Gunning. Than the awesome Marion Cotillard, who did a wonderful job on this role and all that scenerey around Piaf, the old vehicles in the romantic Paris from the 1930ies till the 1960ies. It's the only film I really could watch over and over again. It's a great hommage to Piaf and could have helped to lead people back to real music, such as me. Simply a great film! AWSOME I Just loved this movie from the beginning to the end. I really cried and was moved about what passes through Edith Piaf, Now i can't stop lestining to her beautiful songs, it reminds me the old authentical Paris. Paris nowadays's not the same besides. I 1st saw this movie about 2 months ago and like a lot of people probably, i wasnt expecting anything great but i have to say........WOW! Marion's performance in that film, in my opinion has set the bar to a level that very few actors/actresses get to reach in their lifetime as an actor. I think its a film that will be talked about for many yrs to come, mainly because of marion's performance but also for the true-to-life detail of the person which really made it an all round fantastic film.

I wasn't expecting much b4 I saw this film, but Marion's performance truely touched my soul - her facial expressions tell so much about who Piaf was. I don't know what kind of person Piaf was, but thru Marion's performance, I get - she was strong but fragile, innocent, not particulary beautiful but adorable, passionate, incredibly sad who searched happiness in life, clumsy and who truely LOVED singing etc. I'm so facinated with Piaf, or perhaps, Marion's incredible performance now.

In her case it's not (just) about imitating a caracter, she became Piaf. I almost had the feeling like what I was watching was a documentary.
