  • Can beatmaker 2 control external hardware via midi?

  • I like this app, Its worth the money, so is Garage Band for Iphone, so is Music Studio. They each have features the other doesnt not. So far Ive yet to find an Iphone music app that covers all my needs, luckily they are all in the $20 price range or less so I have all three (and a few other) to get the job done, and it depends on the song. But id have to say, I think garage come closest, only 8 tracks but I can do audi and midi and it has some workable guitar amps.. and its $5.00 :)

  • Cool. Program. Just want to know how would this program work on the Ipod Touch.

Would their be enough space on the screen??

  • This app is legit. I used to have an ol' BOSS SP505 sampler back in the day and loved it. This has all the power of that and some. Being able to import an mp3, chop it up on the pads and bash a tune is awesome and the samples that comes with the app are high quality. You can export your tracks to your favorite DAW too. I haven't tried it yet but being able to do it is nice.

  • @sonicstate If I use Logic Pro as my main production tool, can I plug the iPad into my comp and use Beatmaker 2 as a midi controller in logic?

  • my beatmaker 2 on ipad is set out differently to yours... how to i get it the same as yours??

  • What do you think about the sound quality of the drum samples of this App?? I recently downloaded Akai´s Synthstation and overall I think the samples weren´t really good, but for a 2 dollars App that´s pretty much of what you can expect, actually it does like a lot of cool things, but I´m looking for something that can give decent good sounds.

  • @ChromeGuitar1 Thats a bit harsh - Garage band doesn't allow you to load your own samples and drums sounds, only what you are given. And frankly $5 or $20 - its not a great deal of money. Apple dont need your $, independent developers might....

  • @sonicstate Apple does take a VERY large amount of the profit earned from iTunes...

  • @sonicstate actually Garage band does let you load and record your own samples. I like Beatmaker 2 but Ive been limited by it due to the fact you can only use 32mb of sound. I like old school but not that aspect of old school, lol.

  • @ChromeGuitar1 You cant load your own samples in Garage band, thats why its only 5.00$

  • Thanks for the step by step review. I bought this program a couple of days ago and am very happy with it except my fingers are to big and I need to purchase an Ipad in the near future. My main purpose of the purchase was to export sounds from the Xenon app (good app but limited to 5 tracks) to use in BM 2.

  • You didn't need to tell us you where a guitar player cause there are 3 in the background :D

  • No you didn't cover the basics. I still do not know how to make a 2nd track. Plus you operate too quickly for a beginner to figure out wot chah did.

That being said, you did show the potential of this app.

  • @mydreamquest ...He did clearly state in the video that "if you are already familiar with music production software, it would be intuitive...". That was who his introduction to the software is targeted for.

  • Beatmaker2 is the best. Period.

  • the app is awesome,as a producer,I think you can find all sorts of ways to incorporate the I-pad,I-pod,etc., into thier project studios & even live on stage as well.hey the sounds aren't shitty....well,some aren't but most of all the sounds on beatmaker 1 & 2,nano-studio,and synth-station are sampled pretty well,& I use some of them in Reason,....via sampling.so hats off to the creators & the producers out there who inspire them!!!!!

  • That beat was from no leaf clover or just happend to sound like it?

  • is it compatible with the akai synthstation keyboards?

  • is this avalible for Android phones 2

  • can u make dubstep on it?

  • can u get music from ipod on beatmaker 1?

  • Any possibiltiy of this coming out on the android market?

  • anybody know how to change how long the note lasts on the keyboard?

  • well I have this 2.0 and it doesn't work on my 3gs it looks like it's trying to load at the start up screen then crashes what's wrong with this thing anyone else have this problem?

  • @cvau32 Yeah, that's a bummer. I had the same problem but there's a simple fix that works.

Go to the settings on your iphone, scroll down and go into beatmaker 2 settings - change the username and password to whatever you want and turn "show warnings" off and then back on. And just to make sure, set Latency to high and then back to normal. Messing with these settings somehow fixes the app. Don't know how and why but it fixed it. Then try starting beatmaker 2 again. Tell me if it worked, cheers.

  • @FrikZz0r thanks man WOW!! it worked like a charm. I looked all over for a fix for this and you came through man if your were here I'd give you a handshake and a HIGH FIVE why does this app do that?

  • @cvau32 I have no idea why that happens. I'm glad it worked, HIGH FIVE right back at you :D

  • @FrikZz0r you have to set the latency to low for it to work on the iphone 4 on 4.0.1 from the setings of the iphone worked for me and that's what it tells you to do on the forums for beatmaker 2 also :) cheers. hope this helped

  • @FrikZz0r worked your awesome thanks .. you dont know hoe many times i downloaded this app thinking the link/source i was getting it from was broken...sorry to say thats because i was getting it for free..but then again if i got it through itunes i might have done the same thing again anyway...i wouldn't have minded paying and supporting the developers of this great app but i dont have and app store account or any flow either lol...peace

  • @WyteNikesNLazerLitez Glad it worked. Enjoy and you know, try supporting devs in the future when you start making some extra money ;) because if it weren't for people purchasing great apps like this one, there wouldn't be any.

  • great video !

  • Totally worth the 20 dollars.

  • can i load my own samples and drums into this?

  • Wow you suck dick at making a beat

  • 1:57 and 2:13 Bad Info.

the 1:57 Tune is like the MPC's 16 Levels where ONE sound is Spread over all the pads ..

2:13 Tune is to Simply tune that pad or that one sound lower or Higher

  • i'm kinda new to the beatmaker. but DAMN this is worth its price. today my friend and i were jamming the subwoofer and bass sounds in his car with an auxiliary line hooking up the ipod to the player. QUALITY sounds on this man. BOOM.

  • There will always be people who believe they can halt the advance of technology by shouting louder than everyone else about how new things are a "fad" or "cheating" but the reality is that tools that can be used to make professional quality music can now be had relatively cheaply on a plethora of different platforms. It doesn't matter how many words you type in capitals. Software is here to stay. I suggest you broaden your mind enough to make room for both software and hardware.

  • its pretty mint and nice, but i think that therealKINDLE has a point on this one

  • @therealKINDLE Well sort of, except this is just a bit of software that costs 20bucks. I wouldnt suggest you would buy an iPad just to run it. The iPad will do a bunch of other stuff that a synth wont. A physical synth could cost you a couple $k easy based on the current prices. I dont think this is designed to take the place of your workstation, just give you some cool features on the go.

  • @therealKINDLE Lets not forget either that synths were also considered a FAD at one point. The famous 808 was rendered obsolete almost as soon as it came out and was considered "junk" by many only a few years after it was released... old technologies have a way of coming back around and finding new uses.

  • @therealKINDLE man ive been a beatmaker for 10 years. This program is the truth. If you know how to make beats. this program has everything you need. Its the perfect on the go program for inspiration anywhere. An experienced beatmaker would totally ignore the sounds that come with it and use their own. I been using it a week and have used a single sound that has come with it... this thing is the real deal.

  • @therealKINDLE Er, I love physical synths, too, but you're delusional if you think that computer-based music composition is a "fad". I'll be the first to agree that the iPhone/iPad touchscreen is far from the best interface for playing a synth -- particularly since it has no real means of touch-sensitivity, simply ON or OFF -- but BeatMaker and its competitors aren't designed to be quality keyboard input-devices -- they're intended to be sequencers writ large. Fair enough?

  • @occlusian At last. Someone who actually has a Brain. I Never said that "Computer Based" Music Making is a FAD. NEVER. In fact, the iPad isn't a computer really. It doesn't even have a USB port HDMI, SD Card Slot, etc. It has Blue tooth & Wi-Fi. That's it. If you want to get something for quick Ideas, there are cheaper & even FREE Apps for that. This is a pretty Ok Idea, on a Trend fuelled Device. Unless your Music is Dubstep or POP, then ur Music don't take much to make! lol!

  • @therealKINDLE ...I agree, the software is probably most useful for pop, hip hop and dubstep.

  • @therealKINDLE ...I agree with sonicstate. If you already have an iPad, $20 is a lot cheaper than a big Roland, Korg, Nord etc... Even cheaper than the Axioms etc for 4-500 bucks!

  • @therealKINDLE What's your point? Nobody said that this app will make hardware-synths obsolete. I have a studio filled with old analog gear, but still downloaded Beatmaker 2 just to be able to sketch songs on the go/on the sofa/basically anywhere. I'm not replacing my analog synths with this software, I don't think any sane person would do that.

  • this is mad

  • Very Slick UI. Might take a look into this...

    p.s.(more Rich(lol))

  • @Brainbox97 been a beatmaker for 10 years. Ive used everything from MPC's to software. This thing is worth every penny...i was floored how good it actually is...no lie. These people who made this did their research and knew what they were creating.

  • Cool review! I posted this video in the iPad Audio/Music Apps group on Facebook for everyone to enjoy!
