  • ..first classical player to ever impress me -20 years ago.. long before I ever started playing..later found out the whole family was gifted. When he plays the guitar sings...he plays with so much 'soul" it's amazing.Technically he's a beast of course! Although this piece is not difficult (you can learn it in about 20-30 minutes from this clip depending on your abilities) it is (performed) gorgeously and ive heard him play some (((very))) difficult but beautiful pieces from his 1970's records.

  • what??!!!!! I imagine David Russell wouldn't even agree with you re: pepe's playing.

  • your comment says more about you than Pepe.

You have no idea of the depth of this man and his compassion. He has total control over the sound of the guitar. He plays it exactly as he feels it.

And with much love for his father who wrote it, and probably taught it to him. You have no manners, nor respect for your elders. Why don't you post a video of your playing and let's see who has the more soul.

  • @chinguonu who the fuck is david russle?

  • @chinguonu when you can play this, THEN come tell me Pepe is a "fake musician"....and who the hell is David Russle?

  • Brilliant. Absolutely brilliant. One of the finest artists to ever pick up the instrument. His tone is incredible evn with his nails so long.

  • my teacher Joseph ikner was a student of his i think

  • Pepe Romero, un magnífico guitarrista clásico. No hay técnica que lo intimide. Un auténtico maestro.

  • the romeros, eliot fisk, andres segovia, christopher parkening... some of the greatest guitarists ever! i saw parkening in concert and he was amazing. although christopher is good, i think that the romeros and fisk are way better

  • i love you pepe ,,pliase dose eny one have the notes for this fantasia ..

  • man he plays amazing!

  • Wow, that's the most amazing flamenco performance I've seen. This guy is amazing. I saw David Serva perform a solo Flamenco concert recently. I wish his videos were on youtube.

  • This is not, strictly speaking, flamenco. It's a stylised, classical guitar interpretation of a Guajira, a Cuban dance. Liten to emilio pujol's "Guajira" from about the same time as this was composed, by Pepe Romero's father, an equally accomplished classical guitaist and teacher.Nonetheless, a thing of beauty to behold. Am a tad pissed, so apologies for the crap syntax, illogical train of though etc.

  • HOLY SHIT!!! A TAPPING CLASSICAL GUITARIST!!! HE'S MOTHERULKIN AWESOME!!!

Although I personally think Eliot Fisk is better. But he's an asshole. I like Pepe's personality better.

  • amazing how he grew out his fingernails for the better sound...

  • That guy is sheer genius. Bravo.

  • I just went to a USC masterclass he led. One of his quotes: "Make the guitar sound like she's feeling good." He sure does that here.

  • haha fucking amazing, everything was perfect, genius!

  • haha fucking amazing, genius!

  • he is good

  • Wow! I love the dynamics... so awesome.
