  • greit altos i love your voices

  • Ouch..

They need to use more breath support, open their mouths wider and work on accents and vowel pronunciations.

    But the soloist was good.

  • um the recording itself is terrible so it totally kills the consonants. just throwing it out there.

its hillarious how into critiquing people get.... who cares? if you dont like it. go find a video you like. and if you do like it. great....

  • this choir...is bad. lol, i love how they dont dentalize their t's and they dont roll their r's and how they pronounce "ya" with a y. and the fast part is sooooooo messed up. and they arent moving, so the choir looks like zombies.

i dont think this song worked out. lol.

  • To the people who are arguing:

I am a High School Choral director, and graduated from Oregon State University in Corvallis, OR home of EARTHSONGS which is the publisher of Mata del anima sola. The song is PRINTED with the inner solo as the soprano line. So unless the choral director is familiar with the unwritten performance notes he/she will most likely have their choir perform like this one - which by the way is not wrong if you are following with has been printed. Just food for thought.

  • Thank you for your comment fugitron, I think it'll help everyone that watches the performance without knowing the context and not only that, but to those that start criticizing without having previous knowledge... We all know it's not a great performance, but high school choirs rarely do pieces this complex, that's the only reason I put this up...

  • Quite true! The sopranos in my own select choir did the inner solo :D

But I must admit...it sounded a little muddy and rushed, but overall a pretty good job ^__^.

  • @Fugitron The solo of this work is for tenor even in the first part. I don't know if the printed score of earthsongs is wrong, but you can check other performances by venezuelan choirs in you tube. Cheers

  • Because, if you truly knew anything about music, you would know that music was meant to be reworked and played with. Music artists do it all the time and in fact have made pieces of music better. Just so you know.

  • And you think anyone truly cares who performs with who? Just because a composer writes a piece of music and wants it performed in a certain way does not mean that the music cannot be interpreted in another way. Music is art and art is something that is supposed to be taken in many ways, so for one person to say this music is supposed to be performed in one way only is just ridiculous. I also do not care where your music background comes from.

  • I do care that someone who does not even have a video to prove there experience in this particular field is coming onto youtube just to tell a high school his 5 cents worth when it was not even constructive.

  • Haha, if you look closely around 2:30 and 2:40, you'll see a cat walking through the choir. It distracted us all, that's why the sopranos missed their entrance
