Janis Paige was fantastic in this movie

The way this dance is staged, with Fred and Janis at either end of a long conference table, is itself a play on the horizontally-stretched VistaVision screen - which the lyrics are satirizing.

Fred's line about a dancer having to "come sliding on his knees" is exactly on the mark for 1950s movie choreography.

Such a nice and fun musical number! I watched a brief excerpt of it in "That's Entertainment" and got quite interested in watching the complete version. Thanks a lot for posting it! Never heard of Janis Paige till I saw this, but she was great doing this and now I'm quite interested to know more about her work.

Great commentary on what was going on in movies in the late 50's, courtesy of Porter. A dull, uninventive dance number, though, especially by the standards set by Astaire in other films...
