FANTASTIC tone! I can't imagine why anyone would willfully limit themselves to classical sax when there's such an amazing body of work in jazz... Weird.
Is it really that weird? There's an amazing body of work for classical sax too. Anyway, people have different musical tastes. Some people don't like hip hop, some people don't like country and some people don't like jazz.
@jzer21 No, there's not an amazing body of work for classical sax. There is a very good but very small established repertoire, and several modern and sometimes interesting pieces. I accept that people have various tastes, but I don't really understand how someone could like modern classical music but not jazz. Plus, if you've already got the chops and some complex harmony in your head... Why not blow a little!?
You marginalizing classical sax. There's a lot out there for anyone who seeks it. Londeix listed over 18,000 works and there have been thousands of pieces (many of them very good) written since then. In addition, there are orchestral pieces, concert band pieces and various ensemble pieces being published all the time. But, in the end, I suppose "amazing" is subjective.
"Why not blow a little!?" -- I'm not even sure what this is supposed to mean.
@jzer21 Yep, I am marginalizing classical sax. Because it's the most esoteric music next to theremin concerti. "Why not blow a little" questions the aversion to the devil-may-care attitude of playing at least some amount of jazz because of its wide scope, satisfying complexity, and opportunity for expression.
@marredsun My opinion is you are a troll, and an asshole. That's 1. I am sharing my opinion that you are a troll, and an asshole. 2. I am calling you a douche, an asshole, and a troll. Why? Because you looked up a classical saxophone video and posted derogatory comments on it. I think searching out videos just so you have an excuse to be a judgmental, small-minded prick makes you a troll, an asshole and a douche. Pay attention, this is important. Now go share your wisdom elsewhere...
@jzer21 This guy is just trolling for attention. I'm sorry I commented on his response. If you look at his recent activitiy he's been sharing his wisdom about how awful everything is. He's a Troll, an ass etc... Fwiw I think your comment is 100% spot on.

@marredsun It must be hard to know everything, and for everyone around you to be wrong. Hey...here's a tip...go post on a jazz video. What a douche.

@MichaelnChristine No, it's pretty easy. Here's the method:
1. Read, listen, and form opinions
2. Share those opinions in conversation so they can be tested and tried and argued over
3. Don't call strangers douches.
Try it! It could work for you!
