  • Is this available on DVD?

  • Woah, I just noticed this after playing it on guitar, but the first few measures of Edge's solo are the exact same as the first measures in The Fly's solo. If you play guitar, play along to both, and you'll see what I mean.

  • @garbagecollector10 I always thought that I already heard this somewhere else... Indeed, I just played it, it's really alike

  • Who REALLY runs our world?

US congresswoman Cynthia McKinney has come out and blamed the pro-Israel Lobby in America (AIPAC, ADL, ZOA, etc) for ruining her political career. While in congress she refused to sign the pro-Israel pledge and took a pro-Palestinian stance. Because of this, McKinney said “war was declared” on her by the Jewish lobby. In 2009 she told TIU's Ognir that “more than 99% of Congress work for Pro Zionist Israeli interests.”

  • Quality stinks

  • This is like my favorite version of this song evereverever.

  • Wonderful. Just the thing that take me to better place.

  • Brilliant !!!

  • That's a real special solo here, fellas. Edge doesn't play the solo like that very often. In fact, almost never. You are all witnesses to awesome.

  • THE EDGE really shines on this song.....It's why the edge is the edge..

  • YEAH, the band should have got this out as a d.v.d? It's really one of the best gigs they have ever done..

  • this show is better than the adelaida one which was released on DVD, although That included zooropa songs, this 's a better setlist, in the third leg they were not experimental , thay were still the band of the 80, I Think that zooropa made them even more experimental, if we compare both shows, they removed songs that were very representative of the first decade (bad, desire, when love comes to town, I still....sunday.....)

  • No description.

  • One of the best rock ballads of all time. Perfect tone by Edge on this one

  • The extra verse that they sometimes add in the live version (like this one) is just stunning - I wish we got it every time...

  • defo the best version

  • 4:45 anyone else here the city of blinding lights-esque riff? 12 years later and bam! COBL.

  • @tonewolfsyd also the start of the solo for the fly :)

  • GOODNIGHT ....

  • coldplay & U2 are the best

  • @salamatqassem U2 are the best!!! ....coldplay ehhhh not so much

  • @ColorsBright coldplay are very u2-esque with some songs, the script remind me more of a u2 style sound. listen to a man and a woman from how to dismantle an atomic bomb, you can't say you couldn't imagine coldplay playing the song

  • 3:41. With or wiiiiiith out you. Hot damn :)

  • this is sex 4real

  • I ought to make a mix of this, Tempe (R&H), and Slane, basing it on Tempe but using the solo and outro from this version (as well as the Tempe solo), and the SLS-snippet and its build up ("I can feel, my senses reel") of Slane.

    Just imagine that:

    R&H performance

    Both R&H and DC solos

    Slane build up and SLS-snippet

    DC outro

    Win anyone? <3

  • @Carlibengarli do it!

  • @Carlibengarli Just do it! Will be the best damn version ever not performed in one take on stage.

  • @Carlibengarli oh please do that mix :)

  • I find this song sounds so much better when Adam's bass is turned up where we can actually hear it. The studio version has Adam's thump prominent, an important part of this song. You can hardly hear it sometimes now like on the current tour.

  • @virnan Well that has a lot to do with the quality of the, at least here. With better sound, you could really hear the bass like on the album.

By the way, has anyone got a better audio quality of this song with Edge's amazing solo on this version ?

  • Amazing perfect performance of a classic song. And Edge's solo at the end....it's like being taken to another universe for a few seconds. So beautiful.

  • IF the beatles were bigger than god back then.... well U2 has overthrown them in recent times P.S NO offence to Anyone n' btw I LUUV the Beatles too... but still U2...... Sigh!!!

  • I agree

  • I would absolutely love them to play this song again in the same style with edge and his incredible guitar performance at 4.47..Now that would be worth seeing?

  • the musical environment and ambience and space of this piece is something .... , i mean: if a song is a deep emotion, this is a song .

  • Man, I would have loved to see this live. Nothing against their current tour, but Zoo TV was definitely the highest point in their career. The way they closed out these shows just sends shivers down my spine every time, they hold so much emotional weight that it's so easy to connect to the songs. If I had a time machine, I would definitely go see Zoo TV live...probably several times.

  • Every time I hear this I get chills, and then the solo comes in... and oh my god!! How can certain notes played in a certain order do that to a person!!

  • @jhd1004

It's a phenomenon known as "The Edge".

In the words of Adam Clayton: "If you're close enough friend with The Edge, you can just call him – The."

  • God, I love this song so much!!!!!!

  • best live performance of this song

  • shame on edge hes not doing the solo anymore ^^

  • @09876543217028....agreed. praise the lord.

  • This is the best version of With or Without you.

Does bono actually play anything on the guitar?

  • @mdkelly1961....were is it on d.v.d? I can't get it in the uk..

  • this is already is on dvd

  • It really makes me cry now.

  • Comment removed

  • I think that is THE best version of the WOWY solo. Much better than R&H

  • Saw this live... 2 days later at Saratoga Springs, NY. Still remember how stunning this song (and the rest of the show) was. Edge can make something perfectly complex out of something perfectly simple. Love his solo... so cool to see it again online.

  • The Edge at 4:47 is absolutely stunning. Prettiest piece of guitar playing I have ever heard.

  • @goojman just wonderfull!! they must do it all the time !!

  • heard and seen this song live so many times, but never the same version twice.....it never fails to deliver a chill down my spine....love it

  • Wish I could have seen this live..."let's get married, let's go to vegas" gives me shivers down my spine almost everytime

  • would pay to see the edge play that solo for 2 hours again and again.... he should play it everytime in wowy

  • U2 is greater than Radiohead, Oasis, Muse or any challenger

  • @jamaicanhemp agreed! in 50 years, those 3 will have faded into history. u2, though, are forever!

  • Comment removed

  • @jamaicanhemp totally agree mate ive seen them a dozen times now and never seen a bad show ! will love them till i die the best band ever and put all these bands to shame ! reply to me if u want mate !

  • ive seen many great acts live springsteen coldplay rhcpeppers kings of leon and more but u2 r on a different level the best live band ever !

  • Perfect Solo.. just perfect.. got nothing else to say.. goosebumbs everytime i listen to this song :D

  • Masterpiece

  • yeh edge solo wooooooooooooooooooh....i repeat u2 management bring this concert out official....

  • My god the solo at 4:45 is epic!

  • i love it!

  • the Edge's solo in this song is so great cause it's so rare but seriously he needs to break this out again and again.

  • I think this zoo-tv tour took going to see a live gig to another level that nobody had seen before. In my humble opinion it's the best with or without you EVER..

  • @MegaTrainspotter without question. just to hear that solo once live...wow....

  • Comment removed

  • This solo is the best !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • OMG that is one amazing solo.... and i thought the song was a masterpiece without the edge adding that legendary sound to the end! :)

  • Let's get married, let's go to Vegas : )

  • Comment removed

  • if anyone from U2's management are watching -please bring this out officially on d.v.d.?the fans would love it..

  • Yeah man, guitar solo is awesome... back then it was a way better song than it is now....

  • Edge at 4:46 is fucking magical

  • @adaviesprof

    Amen.

  • U2 wrote "Miami"

  • Now THAT is what I call an amazing song... whats great is that no comment on this video critisizes ANYTHING... i guess everyone is just stunned and immobile at the end of this video... Thank you U2... =)

  • Thanks for sharing this. U2 is so special.

  • from 4.47 edge takes everyone on a incredible journey.

  • holy crap! GO EDGE!

this solo is legendary, better than anything any other band could do..... im tearing up now! ;)

  • They used to perform this song so well... Simply Incredible. Nowadays it kinda sucks... Bono cant hit the notes anymore ..

    And edge's Solo rocks :D

  • IMHO, the absolute pinnacle of this song live. Amazing every time. Edge's extra guitar part is breathtaking. Gives me chills and goosebumps all over.

  • let's get married.lets go to vagas.

  • when u2 play like this they are unstoppable.

  • where did u get these videos of zoo tv live washington dc from?

  • 4:46!!!!

The edge rarely takes a solo, but when he does its incredible

  • plus solo is so 1980

  • 4:50 :o

  • Excelente U2 genial maravilloso en especial la voz de BONO bueno THE EDGE no se queda atras y ni que decir de Larry Mullen Jr haaa no podia faltar Adam :-) quiero ir al concierto cuando vengannnnn

  • Hey, this concert is in DVD :)

A few weeks ago i found it in torrent, just google it.

Some great versions as sunday bloody sunday, and this!

But other ones not so good like new year's day, with some mistakes...

Anyway from 4:20 this song is EPIC!

  • please u2 bring this concert out on d.v.d.

  • would love to get this on d.v.d.

  • To me, this is the best live version ever. Not because of the stunning guitar solo at the end, but the passion Bono puts in it.

    I've got nothing to win

I've got nothing left to lose...

  • Too bad they can't play good music like this anymore. Even these great old songs are performed like crap on the 360 tour

  • best live version of this song ever. period.

  • 4:20 begins Edge's journey into epic winningness.

  • Comment removed

  • RFK Stadium, Washington. An unforgettable nights music. Period.

  • THIS IS WHY I LOVE U2.

  • no doubt... ;)

  • edge is incredible on this song.

  • i agree, i wish they played this the same live now.

  • Simply Beautiful

  • aaah, the 90's U2! love them, so young and fine! the live solo from mysterious ways is my all time favorite though :)

  • They've nearly got it perfect in Popmart live from Mexico city but Bono has screwed vocals up, though Adam's bass attack has layed awesomely!

  • One heart, one love, one blood.

  • LET'S GO TO VEGAS

  • The Edge at 4:46. Epic. Wondrous. Gorgeous. Genius.

  • I dont understand why they dont play the ending like that all the time....everyone loves that....weird...

  • Reminiscent of solo in 'The Fly'.

  • 4:47...sure, it's not a long solo at all..maybe a few seconds. And it's not full of notes either. But it adds so much to the song and the performance. It completes it, man. It really does.

  • best band ever!!!!

  • Best live performance of that song EVER!!! That's WAY BEYOND Rattle and Hum. The way Bono sings lyrics that don't belong to the song is just amazing. He just makes them fit. U2 is perfect fitting.

  • Absolutely amazing

  • The best voice ever..

  • This solo is so amazing and adds to the song rather than seperate itself from the song. That's where the Edge excells. his playing is always a part of the song, never some pointless solo for the sake of it. Wish he'd do this solo again on the 360 tour. Would love to hear this solo on a studio version of the song too.

  • would that be amazing or what? hoping against hope he'll play it at the rose bowl, but seeing as he hasn't since zootv, i'm not holding my breath

  • The solo from Kite in Sydney 2006 beats all Edge's solos by miles. Watch it.

  • I'm with you on that one, that solo is just bone-chilling! :-D

  • why would someone post a comment about other guitar solos being better than this. when the Edge hits those few but precious notes and stirs peoples emotions, he doesnt need to solo for 2 or 3 minutes. no one like The Edge...

  • Because there are many reasons to debate, that is why... You've just said Edge didn't need to do 2 or 3 minute solos, and I'm saying David Gilmour didn't need to or Jimmy Page didn't need to either, but they did, showcasing emotion and skill to such great lengths. Edge is a great guitarist, however, despite it not being acknowledged, Gilmour and Page have subtly influenced Edge's playing, as well as others.

  • Seriously, this the best performance of WOWY along with the performance of Rattle & Hum.

    U2 FOREVER!!! THE BEST!!!

  • The Edge for Pricincipe de Asturias Award!!!!

  • Edge is God!!!!!!

  • let's get married, let's go to Vegas.....bwahahaha cool :)

  • wow...at 4:33 where the edge take's off on one of his favorite parts of the song, (from Joshua Tree The Edge interview in his studio) it's a riff I've never heard him

  • That's what he said on the joshua tree vid. He did a simple riff instead of a solo. This time, he did the solo.

  • Edge! We love you !

  • The last 2 minutes of this version raise it above any other version played live.

  • Wholeheartedly agree. Wish I had a buck for every post in this thread that reads simply "The Edge at 4:46." Pure magic.

  • maybe to you it isn't. remember, my friend, opinions are like, er, you know; everyone has one. ;-) edge purposely never steals the show, but comes together seamlessly with the other three to take music to even greater heights than either floyd or zeppelin...but of course that's just MY opinion... ;-)

  • Opinions, of course... However I let their catalogues and legacies do the talking... and as far as that's concerned the Floyd and Zeppelin catalogues are the two richest in dynamics and philosophy (And "hits" as they are dubbed)... just saying a simple yet nice 20-second solo from a live U2 performace can't surpass something along the lines of what lies in Floyd's "Time", or Zeppelin's "Kashmir".

  • Why does he say "Let's get married. Let's go to Vegas"?... Line from a movie?

  • It's a reference to Phil Joanau, who directed Rattle & Hum and the One video. Backstage at a U2 gig he proposed to a woman only minutes after meeting her. They flew to Vegas that night..... hence Bono's comments.

  • I remember reading that bono said that he cant believe people play this song at their weddings as its a black love song, if you listen to the words carefully, it makes sense. "Lets get married," However i fucking love this song and always here it as a love song. No other song like it, a powerfully original!! Hail the mighty U2!!

  • great version of this U2 classic, bono is great as ever but The Edge is just EPIC, absolutely loved the solo at the end. different from the ones he played in rattle and hum, but still awesome.

  • 10/25/09 See you in the GA line!!

  • "Let's get married! Lets go to Vegas!"

  • The Edge at 4:46 is the prettiest thing I have ever heard.

  • Sounds melodically similar to Edge's solo in "The Fly".

  • Similar to any other Edge's melodic solos, and I like them!

  • As well it does in the Atomic Bomb Track, "City of Blinding Lights"

  • the solo is not that hard to play but as ever he makes it sound powerful.bring on this 360 tour

  • Epic c'est épique

    une tragédie épique

    le genre épique!

  • Can somebody tell me what is 'epic'?

    thx!

Beautiful song btw. The solo of edge is amazing!

  • how did the edge made the solo at 0:45 without an ebow and only with his left hand vibrato??

  • Comment removed

  • its a fernandes sustainer built into the guitar that he uses. Or at least I think so anyway !

  • 4:47...best solo Edge has done on this song.

  • Incredible.

  • esta chida la rola

  • 4:46

  • "let's go marry, let's go Las Vegas"... amazing introduction...

  • sta bien chidao the song
