Woah, I just noticed this after playing it on guitar, but the first few measures of Edge's solo are the exact same as the first measures in The Fly's solo. If you play guitar, play along to both, and you'll see what I mean.
US congresswoman Cynthia McKinney has come out and blamed the pro-Israel Lobby in America (AIPAC, ADL, ZOA, etc) for ruining her political career. While in congress she refused to sign the pro-Israel pledge and took a pro-Palestinian stance. Because of this, McKinney said “war was declared” on her by the Jewish lobby. In 2009 she told TIU's Ognir that “more than 99% of Congress work for Pro Zionist Israeli interests.”
this show is better than the adelaida one which was released on DVD, although That included zooropa songs, this 's a better setlist, in the third leg they were not experimental , thay were still the band of the 80, I Think that zooropa made them even more experimental, if we compare both shows, they removed songs that were very representative of the first decade (bad, desire, when love comes to town, I still....sunday.....)
@ColorsBright coldplay are very u2-esque with some songs, the script remind me more of a u2 style sound. listen to a man and a woman from how to dismantle an atomic bomb, you can't say you couldn't imagine coldplay playing the song
I ought to make a mix of this, Tempe (R&H), and Slane, basing it on Tempe but using the solo and outro from this version (as well as the Tempe solo), and the SLS-snippet and its build up ("I can feel, my senses reel") of Slane.
I find this song sounds so much better when Adam's bass is turned up where we can actually hear it. The studio version has Adam's thump prominent, an important part of this song. You can hardly hear it sometimes now like on the current tour.
Amazing perfect performance of a classic song. And Edge's solo at the end....it's like being taken to another universe for a few seconds. So beautiful.
IF the beatles were bigger than god back then.... well U2 has overthrown them in recent times P.S NO offence to Anyone n' btw I LUUV the Beatles too... but still U2...... Sigh!!!
I would absolutely love them to play this song again in the same style with edge and his incredible guitar performance at 4.47..Now that would be worth seeing?
Man, I would have loved to see this live. Nothing against their current tour, but Zoo TV was definitely the highest point in their career. The way they closed out these shows just sends shivers down my spine every time, they hold so much emotional weight that it's so easy to connect to the songs. If I had a time machine, I would definitely go see Zoo TV live...probably several times.
Every time I hear this I get chills, and then the solo comes in... and oh my god!! How can certain notes played in a certain order do that to a person!!
Saw this live... 2 days later at Saratoga Springs, NY. Still remember how stunning this song (and the rest of the show) was. Edge can make something perfectly complex out of something perfectly simple. Love his solo... so cool to see it again online.
@jamaicanhemp totally agree mate ive seen them a dozen times now and never seen a bad show ! will love them till i die the best band ever and put all these bands to shame ! reply to me if u want mate !
I think this zoo-tv tour took going to see a live gig to another level that nobody had seen before. In my humble opinion it's the best with or without you EVER..
Now THAT is what I call an amazing song... whats great is that no comment on this video critisizes ANYTHING... i guess everyone is just stunned and immobile at the end of this video... Thank you U2... =)
Excelente U2 genial maravilloso en especial la voz de BONO bueno THE EDGE no se queda atras y ni que decir de Larry Mullen Jr haaa no podia faltar Adam :-) quiero ir al concierto cuando vengannnnn
4:47...sure, it's not a long solo at all..maybe a few seconds. And it's not full of notes either. But it adds so much to the song and the performance. It completes it, man. It really does.
Best live performance of that song EVER!!! That's WAY BEYOND Rattle and Hum. The way Bono sings lyrics that don't belong to the song is just amazing. He just makes them fit. U2 is perfect fitting.
This solo is so amazing and adds to the song rather than seperate itself from the song. That's where the Edge excells. his playing is always a part of the song, never some pointless solo for the sake of it. Wish he'd do this solo again on the 360 tour. Would love to hear this solo on a studio version of the song too.
why would someone post a comment about other guitar solos being better than this. when the Edge hits those few but precious notes and stirs peoples emotions, he doesnt need to solo for 2 or 3 minutes. no one like The Edge...
Because there are many reasons to debate, that is why... You've just said Edge didn't need to do 2 or 3 minute solos, and I'm saying David Gilmour didn't need to or Jimmy Page didn't need to either, but they did, showcasing emotion and skill to such great lengths. Edge is a great guitarist, however, despite it not being acknowledged, Gilmour and Page have subtly influenced Edge's playing, as well as others.
wow...at 4:33 where the edge take's off on one of his favorite parts of the song, (from Joshua Tree The Edge interview in his studio) it's a riff I've never heard him
This comment has received too many negative votesshow

Opinions, of course... However I let their catalogues and legacies do the talking... and as far as that's concerned the Floyd and Zeppelin catalogues are the two richest in dynamics and philosophy (And "hits" as they are dubbed)... just saying a simple yet nice 20-second solo from a live U2 performace can't surpass something along the lines of what lies in Floyd's "Time", or Zeppelin's "Kashmir".

DC outro
