  • What a great show, i remember someone busted out the glass in the front of the convention center and they couldn't raise the drum platform on "Black Diamond" because the ceiling was too low. Just found out recently that this was part of the Alive album. Thanks for sharing, brings back some pretty good memories....

  • what the hell does peter say there....been wondering for 30 years....I hear "JUST GOT YOU SUCKA- Ooooo" Goodnight

  • ACE IS MINE SO BE QUIET!!

  • Are selling any of these pictures ?

  • @1976kissdestroyer I'll sell any of these pics. Which ones did you want?

  • @agr8dj how many pictures is it in total ?

  • Kramer said this album was pretty much done in the studio. It does kick ass and you're right....that's all that matters. Listen to Ace's solo....there's no way it could have sounded that clear and precise live.

  • wow! i LOVE this kinda stuff, this is the real deal. Very cool. By the fans ,4 the fans!!

  • This is SO COOL. THANK YOU! I can't believe you saw this show! Do you remember the setlist?

  • THANKS FOR SHARING!!!

  • This is the same track on the Alive lp. At the end of the song he is saying Kiss Loves You and then just vocal noise, not words.

  • @METALIZE1 Well actually he is saying "Kiss loves you, Rock and roll!!!"

  • My God! Thanks for this I was at that show and my camera took nothing but blanks!

  • Wildwood was my first KISS concert! Only "Black Diamond" was used for ALIVE! Everything else on the album was taken fro Detroit, Davenport and I think Toledo (not sure about Toledo). I remember coming out of the hall onto the baordwalk and the smoke that filtered out as well. Some people on the baords were commenting that they thought Convention Hall was on fire... It indeed was!

    Thanks for sharing your photos!

  • How big was that place? Must have been amazing to be there!!!!

    Kudos agr8dj!!!

  • Excellent pictures, dude. Those were the days. Kiss was my first concert - the Destroyer tour. It changed my life.

  • what does peter say at the end?KISS WANTS YOU ROCKNROLL????always wondered since i was a kid wht he says?

  • @letiziaytito "Kiss Loves you...Rock and Roll!!!!"

  • @letiziaytito I always thought he said "Kiss loves you SUCKA-gOODnight"

to this day I STILL dont know what he says there.

  • @letiziaytito It sounds like Peter is saying "KISS LOVES YOU..FARGO...Wa,ah..Oooh

  • MAGIC

  • magic

  • hey,,,at the end of the day ,,,does it really matter.......it sounds great,,,thats the main thing

  • This is KILLER I was there. I'm from Phila and a buddy of mine had a show house and called me all nuts about KISS being in Wildwood. Hell I even remember getting a flat on the way down on the AC Expressway. WOW!

  • KICK ASS!!!!

  • Hehe wow i never thought of that!...but wow what an awesome Ace there...listening to it just Makes my fingers tired!

  • Great photos

  • @northbeachson

That's not true, Deuce, Strutter, Got To Choose, Hotter Than Hell, and Firehouse were all recorded as they appear on Alive! at this Wildwood show, which has been proven by bootlegs and Deuce from this show was released for Rock Band 2 , and it is exactly the same as on Alive!

  • @northbeachson The only thing they did with deuce was make the explosion in the beginning much louder

  • Thanks so much for sharing those pics, agr8dj - loved the candelabras in the background they used back then...

  • at 0:36, I have an audio recording of Gnee breathing fire at this show, actually, the version of Firehouse came from this show, with no overdubbing, I talked to Eddie Kramer, and I listened to a soundboard of Firehouse from this show, thy are the same. I also have an audience recording of Gene spitting blood at 0:58.

Plus, 1:06 is actually on Alive! at the end of Black Diamond.

  • just i case anyone was wondering, the songs that came from this show on Alive! with minimal editing or overdubbing were

    Deuce

    Strutter

    Got To Choose

    Hotter Than Hell

    Firehouse

    and Black Diamond,

I read it in the book KISSTORY.

  • AWESOME!

  • Great pics!!! Love the ones with Gene playing his Gibson Ripper bass.. There's not to many of Theo's pics around...

  • yeah, i wish they still made the rippers

  • Gibson Grabber Bass

  • sorry its a Ripper bass

  • great post thanks man !

  • Poor quality or not, these pictures are fabulous!

  • Great footage. This is Alive! just before Alive! Those Cobo Hall concerts that followed seem a little over produced. This here is what every KISS fan dreams of. The Alive! show before it caught on.

  • I know what you're saying .. I saw them in Syracuse in 1975 just a week or so after the Alive! album came out. Probably less than 1,000 people there ... but Kiss played like there were 50,000 ... what a show!! Best Kiss show I ever saw ... loved them in the raw, early days. Rock and roll ....................

  • The music used on this video IS from Alive! The songs were heavily processed for use on Alive! Alive wasn't very live at all. Ask producer Eddie Cramer. I have a cd made from a cassette tape of the Wildwwod concert. It sounds like crap because of the bad recorder and cheap cassette deck. I traded photos of the concert for a copy. It's cool because I can hear myself yell "Cold Gin!" out prior to the beginning of Cold Gin.

  • no, i know about the fact that they overdubbed, because i have bootlegs from the cleveland and cobo hall concerts, and they sound nothing like alive. what i meant was, if you listen to alive now, do you remember any of the songs sounding the same back then??

  • No, not really.

  • crowd noise and stage banter might be the only things "live' about "KISS ALIVE"

  • actually most of the the onstage banter was done in the studio as well. Have you seen the making of KISS alive!?

    It's quite revealing.

  • @agr8dj I have the show on audio!

  • @MIssStrutter

me too ... but it's from a tape deck copied to a cd. poor quality. How does your audio sound?

  • @agr8dj the same

  • @agr8dj who really gives a shit if it wasn't all live...the album kicks ass, and that's all that matters!

  • @agr8dj Oh wow! That was U?...Cool!....I always noticed that ever since the album came out and I still wonder whatever happened to the guys holding up the KISS poster on the back of the LP....Has any one heard from them?...Love 2 C what they look like now and would love to know if the poster even still exists!

  • if you listen to the songs that recorded here, and then listen to them on alive, do they sound any different?

  • Well done Jeff! Great pics and vid - thanks for posting.
