There is nothing wrong with a 16 year old country singer. In fact a 16 year old country singer would be great. With this song at least we have a 16 year old singing a pop song that plays on country radio. That is why country is going to hell in a hand basket. You want to know who is country today? Is this supposed to be country music? Sounds pretty pop rock to me. That's the problem left with country today. 90% pop and 10% country.

That's the problem with having a 16 year old in the business. They really don't have a true country background these days. Some do but most are overly influenced by modern pop.

Good song but really does not belong on country radio. That's the reason I don't listen to country as much as I used to.

If one is going to be packaged as a country singer perhaps they should sing Country music. I have no problem with the song in particular. I do however have a problem with her label packaging her as a Country artist with songs like this.

It is because Country music is trying to sell to teenagers that the music has become for the most part contemporary top 40's pop.

She is but the problem with artist like Katie is that they really don't have a country sound. They are packaged as country and yet their sound is almost all pop. Nothing wrong with country music evolving as long as it does not evolve away from being country music. That is what women of country have done. Some men but mostly women.
