  • Don Bluth among those credited with layout. (1:15)

  • @TheLpbrennan Wow, it's almost like lousy material just follows him around, hehe. Poor fellow.

  • At the :20 and 1:21 mark, the fat karate Jerry Lewis walks just like Fat Albert. Did anyone notice that? BTW, these two shows were made by filmation.

  • well, to start off, I have no negative comments. But this vid reminds me that once again, ALMOST EVERYONE WHO MADE IT BIG BACK THEN HAD THEIR OWN CARTOON SHOW! thanks for uploading

  • Imagine...Jim Carrey in his very own Saturday Morning cartoon show...this should have been came out during the mid-90's................Imagine Jim Carrey doing all of his classic characters.

  • Well, Carey sort of had three cartoon series at one...cartoon versions of Ace Ventura, the Mask, and Dumb & Dumber.

  • I'm in love with this GENIUS theme song.

  • Whoa! Filmation was owned by Teleprompter??

  • Yup. And it was later owned by Westinghouse before they sold the company to L'Oreal, which shut down Filmation by early 1989.

  • L'Oreal?!?!? Why would they buy an animation studio? Was it a package deal?

  • L'Orewal..the company that got in trouble for animal testing. Just think! Filmaiton did thew Brady Kids, then Roseanne's Sara "Darlene COnner" Gilbert, part of that anti-Brady Bunch make up, goes after Filmaiton owners LOreal, though I beleive they were spared later.

  • Classic Media owns the Filmation library today.

  • My Grandfather is in the credits of this show. Lez Kaluza as an animator.

  • Wow! That's cool!

  • hoy me levante pensando en este tema y ahora lo veo, es tal cual lo recordaba, gracias toontracker.

  • But more like the Jim Carrey in My opinion.

  • GRACIAS... SOLO GRACIAS.

  • GOD, this brings back so many memories - back when Saturday morning cartoons really meant something- I think this toon also premiered along with the Groovy Ghoulies, too!

  • You are correct. And Archie's Fun House also premiered in 1970 as well.

  • Very much so, but not as hypnotic as his silly dance. I'd watch that as an animated gif icon for hours!

  • I used to see this when I was a kid.

  • Filmation animation. That explains why Jerry looks like Reggie from "The Archies".

  • I still remember the words to this song. KILL ME.

  • LOL

  • que es esa wea?? de que año es?? en que canal lo daban??

  • jerry lewis was involved with the cartoon but not the voice

  • This was my first introduction to Jerry Lewis as a small fry. I have been a fan ever since.

BTW, doesn't it sound as if Mike Love from the Beach Boys is singing the theme song?

  • Actually, it is Jerry's son, Gary Lewis (from Gary Lewis and the Playboys).

  • This was my first introduction to Jerry Lewis. I have been a fan ever since.

  • Man: Will The Real Herry Lewis Please SIT DOWN!

  • Animated Jerry Lewis looks like he was played by Jim Carrey.

  • A Jerry Lewis cartoon? I didnt know that made one. WOW!

  • Does anyone have any episodes of this show, or is the series basically MIA because of the location of the master tapes?

  • I remember this, but I almost never watched it. It was up against Josie and the Pussycats and then Bugs Bunny every Saturday morning, so me and my 2 sisters always watched those instead.

  • I also saw Hanna-Barbera layout man Jack Manning in the credits. He was obviously not at H-B at the time since they only had two shows in 1970 ("Josie & The Pussycats" and

    "The Harlem Globetrotters").

This Jerry Lewis cartoon aired on ABC from 1970 to 1972, at 10 AM Eastern the first year, and 8 AM the second year. Of note, Rudy Larriva was an animator under Chuck Jones during the early 1940s at WB (he is the credited animator for "Elmer's Pet Rabbit.")

  • i remember a Jerry Lewis comics from 1966 or so, with crazy and fun stories (some stories about a bizarre and sadic boy scott camp )

very good draws..i'ld like know more about..

  • I was really surprised to see Don Bluth's name in the credits. They also had many Looney Tunes animators working on this.

  • Wow--I never knew this Filmation cartoon existed either. Jerry Lewis in a cartoon show back then huh? How novel.

  • Ironically, the real Jerry Lewis had no involvement with this cartoon - someone else provided his voice.

  • That was David L. Lander of "Laverne and Shirley".

  • Another irony:Jerry Lewis won't allow this to be released on DVD or rerun on TV anywhere now. Add to this the fact that the oiginal negatives were trashed in the 1990s and the entire series exists only on digital composite PAL videotape masters (like most of the Filmation library nowadays).

  • Filmation did ask him to voice his cartoon self, but he reportedly felt other people did his younger voice better than he himself did by 1970!

  • Actually, Jerry served as a consultant to the series, even as he didn't do the voice over work, that being David L. Lander (Squiggy from Laverne and Shirley). And in a way, it was a good move on Filmation's part. :)

  • Lot of interesting names in the credits, including Rudy Larriva (one of the animation directors), who's known for those cheaply-made Road Runner cartoons.
