It is difficult to determine how big a problem global warming could become, but regardless of what happens with global warming we have to wean ourself off of coal and oil before they become scarce. Were not on track to do this currently and this could lead to a EXTREMELY large catastrophe for the world economy.

Cap and trade is not the best solution, true. However this is a step in the direction of Cap and Cap. What is important about this video is that we are finally going to have a President that will engage the USA with the rest of the world on this most urgent of issues. I attended the summit and must say that for two days, Obamas' Commitment to this issue was a major topic of conversation. I was proud to be an American rather than having to apologize for our Countries' greed and lack of action.

Cap and trade is bad business, bad politics and very bad enviromentalism. Cap and CAP is the way.  High prioritization of investment in new and innovative methods of improving efficiencies across the spectrum is the number one way to achieve this. Investment and research into all non-carbon fuel based power generation is a close second. Time to pour a couple of Billion dollars into alternative energy research, if we can invent erection pills, we can solve sustained fusion.
