While watching the Draft when they called his name in round 2 I came out of my chair, He has the potential to really become something special and plays the position like I alway's thought it should be played.

The Raiders did a great job of trading down in round 2 to 2 spots before he would have went off the board at 49 to the Bears.

There are doubts about Maclin because of the system he played in. At least DHB played in a pro-style system and he runs better routes. They he is a burner with questionable hands, but that was the rap on Cliff Branch coming out of Colorado. Time will tell and there are few sure things in this draft, from Matthew Stafford on down.

Sports fans, for the most part, get all their information on draft picks from "experts" without actually doing research themselves.

If you watch a lot of football, it doesn't take a genius to see this kid can play. He's always been under the radar, and even led his high school team to a state championship in '04. Ohio University safeties (or any in the MAC), no matter good they are, will never get much publicity.

Before anyone can realistically grade a draft, they need to wait 3 or 4 years.

Word got out that the bears were gonna get him early and I'm glad that we were able to get the heads up and grab him before they did. So many top players were available at the time and we had a great opportunity of getting DHB plus another top player. I think people were so upset about our first pick, it affected the way people thought about our second pick. I guarantee if we would've drafted Crabtree, nobody would've over-reacted about getting Michael Mitchell.

But after seeing this video, my opinion has changed on this kid, he's very versitile, hard hitter, great instincts. The only flaw is that he didnt play against top-notch schools.
