  • wow man nice video!

  • Thats a heck of a compact ariel truck..... nice.

  • What's up with Squad 1 and Squad 1A? How does it work? Beautiful trucks btw

  • I like the bluish green lights :)

  • why is the ladder called squad for

  • @firefighter54210 It is part of a two piece company. The Rescue Truck and the Snorkel Truck make up one company. The city has three of these.

  • @rykember11 5 not 3 if i remember correct

  • @RailsandRoads There are only 3 Squad Companies Squad 1, Squad 2, and Squad 5. Squads 3 and 4 have been disbanded.

  • GAY

  • @excap How is this video homosexual?

  • @rykember11 He wasn't calling the video homosexual, he is coming out of the closet by proclaiming he's gay since the fire was on Halsted in Boystown. I personally would have said FAAAAAAAAAAAABULOUS!!!! But that's just me...

  • I love the grille lights on those rigs, attention grabbing.

  • What is the green light on the front left of the first truck for?

  • Those sound like the LAFD sirens :D

  • @Beardown502 They are the same sirens. Motorola Spectra.

  • What does a squad do for the Chicago FD? Here in NY squads are engine that run as engines to there 1st - 3rd due are and trucks every where else in the borough. What does a Chicago Squad do?

  • @psp310 They are the Heavy Rescue Company.

  • love the squads lights!!

  • That is so bad ass! God i love my job..lol

  • I love snorkels!

  • how talls the snorkel and does cfd uperate anything taller snorkel wise

  • @MultiMonster69 There are 55 or 65 ft. And I believe they still have (not sure though) an older spare snorkel that is a 75 ft truck, and has tandem axles.

  • above the bay doors it says CV1 what does that stand for?

  • @gsarjos command van 1

  • @farmtruck551 Thanks!

  • They almost had the snorkel on two-wheels with that turn lol!

  • just met a guy thats detailed here. cool house and company.

  • How busy are the Squads, how many runs do they do per day roughly?

  • @Scousefire I'm not exactly sure how many, but they keep busy . I know they run on all working fires, accidents requiring extrication, special calls, and any time they are specially called in.

  • @Scousefire It depends For that one they do about 6, there is one on the west side that does about 10, there is another on the south side that does about 6 and the one at the airport does about 2 in General there not VERY busy but they do go to alot of fires

  • @E68E71 there is absolutely no reasoning behind these numbers provided. Squad 5 on the southside always smokes the other squads when it comes to the run total numbers. Squad 5 is the busiest of all the squads when it comes to total runs and working fires.

  • y is the tower a squad

  • @BigT58609 Chicago runs two-piece squad companies. The Box (Heavy Rescue) and the Snorkel. they respond to working fires and the snorkel usually flows water. They can also be used for specialized rescues where a normal aerial ladder or tower ladder cannot fit.

  • Where's the Q?

  • @jazzbutterworth No current Chicago Apparatus have Q Sirens. (Tower 5 (The ALF) had one, but I think I saw it had been removed, not 100% sure tho.) Most apparatus have the Federal EQ2B Siren, and older trucks have these sirens, the Motorola Spectra. Some even older trucks have PA300s.

  • @jazzbutterworth All city rig's have electronic q's

  • @kdub0911 One or two still have the q2B.

  • @jazzbutterworth Which ones? I know the one on Tower 5 got taken off and it only has the Whelen now. The O'Hare rigs (Squad 7, The Truck, and two Pierce Engines) are the only ones I know of that have em.

  • @rykember11 Is there a photo of the tower 5 with it's q still on? I would love to see one.

  • what kind of sirens are on those rigs

  • @2300firefighter It is the Motorola Spectra

  • haha i like the alarm terminal in the background dispatching companies the computerized voice

  • was is 1a ? i know a snorkel but what is the a?

  • @bpw110 The "A" Represents the second half of the company. Squad 1 is the Heavy Rescue, and 1A is the Snorkel.

  • @rykember11 ok thank you

  • Was it just squad 1? There had to be fire engines on that case 2. Engine 98 or 13 maybe?

  • @AmericanAirlines129 I think they went north...They called for 2-7-2, Thats on the north side right?

  • @rykember11 272 is at e112 house, damen and roscoe, engine 13 or 98 would not have beenat that fire, it would be e55 e22, t44 t28, battalion 5, squad 1, 272, TL 10, battalion 3, im not sure what feild officer the would be and the closest ambo to tis fire would probably be #6 or #43 , this fire is also literally a block from e55's house, (E55 T44 B5, no ambo)

  • Nice video u should come by E68 house once on 5258 W. Grand Ave.

  • @E68Rehab572 Been there!

  • lol omg omfg lmao rofl, *GASP* i was at that fire =)

  • I shot that same video! We were there looking at the trucks when the call came in.

  • @203jba Well get the video on here! I wanna see it from your angle! Even though you were like right next to me...
