THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS (in Rev. 18) described as the most powerful nation of its day, that has the biggest influence on the entire earth, spiritually, economically, culturally, militarily etc. "The merchants of the earth are waxed rich through the abundance of her delicacies." "For in one hour so great riches is come to nought" etc. Jerusalem comes nowhere near. It is an insignificant player of the world economy, culture etc. Read the chapter and think of the US. Notice that rev. 17:11 talks about the beast that was and is not. Which beast is this? The first beast of rev. 13 that receives a mortal wound after reigning for 1260 prophetic days. Which power is that? It's the little horn power of Daniel chapter 7. A beast is a king or kingdom. A head is a king that comes out of a kingdom. As the papacy is one of the heads of the beast of chapter 17, babylon once had the papacy as its religio-political instrument. This can not be jerusalem.

I am afraid of the fact that you also need to consider Jeremiah 50 & 51 and what the prophet Isaiah told us about Babylon. There is plenty of info on this entity.

I also would like to ask you how do you fulfill this:

U are partially right, but you must study history in regards to this. Especially the iron kingdom of Daniel 2, which is the Roman empire right up till Jesus return. Pagan Rome becoming Papal Rome and killing the saints under the name of (apostate whorish) Christianity (that's why John wondered with great admiration) Yes this will find it's culmination in Jerusalem, but you are not properly connecting the dots according to prophecy and documented history! The revived Roman empire are the European monarchies. This is the scarlet beast, and the woman riding it is America. If this interpretation is declaring that Jerusalem is the Harlot of Rev 17, it is complete error. It is papal Rome – purple & scarlet (bishop & cardinal), persecuted the saints (50 million martyred), offering the golden cup full of abominations (real presence in eucharist & blood), on 7 hills (Grk: oros = mountain, hill, mount), reined over kings (Holy Roman Empire, concordats, etc.). Research Huguenots, Waldenses, Albigensians, the Beziers massacre. All the Reformers ID'd the papacy.

@bibleortraditions -- I think all your points are valid but there is not much Old Testament confirmation for it. Looking at Mystery Babylon as a prophetic city makes it being Jerusalem much clearer. All prophecy has types and shadows in the Old Testament and the allusions to Jerualem being the harlot abound. Just something to consider. God bless.

@RizNJ - Although the Old Testament does have end-time prophecies, the primary prophetic messages were pointing to Messiah. The Revelation of Jesus Christ is a New Testament book. John recorded world events from the time of the first century to the 2nd Advent. The testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy. The NT does not primarly point to what has happened, but will happen. They are not just shadows, but identity marks.

@bibleortraditions -- I beg to differ. The OT prophesies more about the Great Trib than the NT. It has more prophecies about the MIllenial Reign than the NT (by far). So it should be a clear source of support for the identification of Whore of Babylon. And I think the video makes this very obvious. The OT identifies Jerusalem repeatedly. Even the antichrist is called the "wicked prince of Israel" (Ezek 21:25). He is going to operate out of Jerusalem.

I strongly believe this or the next Pope is the False Prophet. The vatican now is calling for a global economy. What is interesting is, that the Anti-Christ does not issue the mark of the beast. The False Prophet is. Many believe its a chip implant which makes alot of sense.
