wasn't this playing in the background in that marvelous Peter Sellars movie called 'Being There'.......Buffy is so beautiful and this song is very touching.......classic sesame street where simplicity and child like wonder sync very well with Sellar's child man Chance....RIP Peter
Beautiful. I love how Classic Sesame Street never fell into that "why waste good music on kids" trap that shows like Barney do. I mean, with slightly altered lyrics, this song could have been a pop hit. Sesame Street was the only show I would watch when I was little because I felt the music was so superior to anything else. And speaking of great music, Buffy Sainte-Marie is pure class. I wish she had still been on Sesame Street when I was little, but I guess I can settle for YouTube clips. :)
@3909clancy Different writers, different ways I guess... But yeah, the show just ain't the same as it used to be. I blame the competition and the loss of people like Jon Stone and Jim Henson who helped make the show what it was.
I know it was remade with Papa Bear singing it in regards to Baby Bear and Curly Bear in 2003 (that was first time and first version I heard of this song)... when was the other remake, and who sang it in regards to who?
@dunbustin it is mesmerising isn't it! I chased this up because i saw it on Being There too. I love this kind of music. I reminds me of a lot of Jon Brions work who;s made the score for films like I heart Huckabees, Eternal Sunshine and Punch Drunk Love. Check them out if you haven;t seen them!

It does sound a lot like the Punch Drunk Love theme.

As soon as she started to sing, the tears fell from my eyes.

"everyone loves through all their days different people, different ways." What a simple and beautiful thing to teach children.

ok, for everyone who wants to know:
Bm, Bm/Bb, Bm/A, Bm/G# (bass walkdown holding Bm chord) then: G,D,G,D,E,G,A,Bm. Bridge is Bmaj, Em, A, D, G, Bmaj... back to Bm.

@GroverKent I believe it was in the video "New Baby in My House" when they sang this another time.

Super! Kind of a mesmerising song. This excerpt was shown in the Peter Sellers and Shirley MacLean film, Being There.

Nanto mentioned that already. But anyway, very touching clip. Buffy sure has a way of reassuring people of things.

Lovely, groovy song, perfect for those who have just become a big brother or sister. Buffy is sent from God. She loves everyone in different ways.
