  • Absolutely the best song in the world ever.... Where is the version where they sing "Something's fuckin' wrong with my radio"? Ha ha. Drink Whisky and SHUT UP!

  • you can´t find another with that rockin´style!!!! awesome!!!

  • Grease my hair count my dough, Tell that D.J. where to go. Always a great live track. Long live Rockabilly!

  • Down with longhair music, long live 32 Deuce.

  • what is longhair music?

  • Hippie Music! The Dead, Jefferson Airplane, Etc.

  • Actually, if you'll remember Elvis sang in his song "C'mon Everybody" (Not to be confused with the Eddie Cochran song of the same name)

"Well there ain't nothing wrong with the long-haired music

    Like Brahms, Beethoven and Bach

Well I was raised with a guitar in my hand

And I was born to rock"

So in this song which is written in the 50's/rockabilly style he's talking about classical music and how he doesn't want anything to do with it - cause classical composers all had long hair

  • Interestingly enough, after the British invasion long hair became synonymous with rock and roll - Brian even had long hair ... just you know all up and crazy and some slicked back and cutup and all flock-o-seagles-meets-mullet-ish---- But the term longhair music stuck and it is referring to classical music ... like Brahms, Beethoven and Bach

  • Possibly, But the Cats were from the 80's and made reference to decades past in other songs like Rock This Town, "The cat looked about 1974", and Disco, I think Brian's referring to Hippie music in this case.

  • You think so? Probably but REAL HIPPIE MUSIC it's quite close with early rock and roll: Flying Burrito Brothers, Comander Cody, Creedence, Grateful Dead, etc. My mother was a hippie in late 60's early 70's and was listening to this guys (among others like Dylan, Beatles, etc) all the time... Maybe he meant hard rockers or heavy rockers...Don't know, just another option of longhair music ;-)

  • @benitojauregi this song being written in the late 70's/early 80's (was released in '83) was probably referring to disco such as the bee gee's etc, they had long hair

  • @TeddyboyEd This song is from the 80's and he says he now only hears long hair music, and the most famous long-hair music from the 80's would be hardrock and metal.
