@kaykaykrazy0819 yah u will gag, just know they arent trying to hurt you, just breathe thru your nose and if your scared ask questions and they will help you be more comfortable. its not that bad. just think when your done you can eat anything you want without any boundaries :)

It's not that bad .... All it is like is a big wad of gum on your teeth... Keep breathing through your nose and close your eyes and think about your best friend or cat dog ect... Thats what I do!

What is it like to get an impression? It is single handedly one of the worst experiences I have ever lived through. Expect gagging, throwing up, and/or a severe anxiety attack if your orthodontist doesn't know what they're doing when it comes to comforting patients. It's 2011, people. Start using digital technology like so many other dentists and orthodontists are doing.

the first time i threw up but ONLY because i have anxiety (idk how to spell it) and cuz i bit down and breathed through my throught. i was eleven that time. the next time i was twelve and i learned to breathe through my nose and didnt even gag i just held it back and clinched. im 13 now and im getting one tomorrow but im still nervous. its not that bad on the end though

To everyone : Impressions are very simple and go a little farther back than expected but aren't really that bad, I didn't gag but as I have read, some people did, it is different for everyone. Also when they take it out you feel a little tug but nothing bad.
