I have been a Who fan for many years but this has to go down as one of the best concerts I have ever seen. I was only 16 at the time and we lined up for an awful long time to get tickets. In fact we missed the morning of school at Gordan Graydon in Mississauga to get tickets. I have seen The Who many times in Toronto afterwards but nothing compared to this one.
May thanks for posting this and letting me relive being 16 again if only for a short time!!!
OMG! This concert was simulcast on a local radio station and I taped it. It's been one of my prize tapes. This was always my favorite version of WGFA (even with the feedback at 2:38, which to me is part of the song). I always thought Kenny Jones' drumming was incredible on this rendition. One odd thing though is a guitar riff is missing at about 6:30, everything else is the same.
i remember this concert. it was the who's farewell concert. it was on pay tv and i remember watching a scrambled picture trying to see some of it. amazing its been 28 years and pete and roger still going.
YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH !!

Takes me back to the same tour, but Cotton bowl. October 1982. Cold and rainy -- still 80,000 people.

@Bemused46 ... Pete's amps are full out I believe. So I am sure the feedback (since he pioneered controlled feedback) is intentional. :)))

@zed0469 That's not guitar feedback - it's a microphone feedback... which is not fun!
