  • Foreman said Lyle hit harder than anyone he faced.

  • amazing resistance, iron instead of the head bones

  • 3:26 :O

  • WOW!

  • RIP big boy i hope up there you keep doing your thing......knock some angels down to earth baby we need them down here not up there...jejejej

  • the greats, put on one of the greatest fights here. RIP. RON LYLE

  • Foreman was a one of a kind, his style is not flashy, his punches aren't the fastest, but it's like he's made of granite, there is so much momentum in his punches and he is so solid he can take just about anything. He made other heavyweights punches look like little slaps and when he hit it was like a steel beam crashing into them.

  • ken sounds but hurt

  • Comment removed

  • imagine getting hit with a low blow from george foreman................sheeeesh ouch

  • "the guy who knocked you out in the second round, kenny" Cossell's such a Jew.

  • Pedazo combate, de los mejores de la historia por ambas partes

  • LMFAO @ "slow motion" AHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAAAAA... great fight tho

  • I love how Lyle tried to punch Foreman in the balls at the get go. That should of told everyone 'This is gonna be hysterical"

  • @gregy741 it goes to show you know fuck all.

  • I sometimes wonder how good the young Foreman would have been if he had had the maturity and confidence (and discipline) of the old George Foreman. Maybe the greatest ever.

  • @danning1 you called that one right

  • 2.04 someone shouted "foreman your a chump" lol

  • Foreman is the rarest of boxers in that in the second half of his career he made fundamental changes to his style that made him much harder to beat. He got his head right and taught his body what to do. He learned to relax and conserve energy. He became a much smoother, much smarter fighter. I think those years out of the ring in the late 70s and 80s preserved his health and gave him time to relearn the fight game. Even his personality changed, from unlikable brute to sweet, light hearted guy.

  • ron lyle the ORIGINAL kimbo slice

  • One of the best fights I've seen from two top class boxers. I bet these two would clear the division now! Great upload!

  • Foreman always had the greatest power in heavyweight history but he didnt have a chin or stamina til he got older. Go figure.

  • An absolute classic. When boxing was at its best.

  • I NEVER IN MY 35YRS THOUGHT AS TRUE FAN OF BOXING THAT THE SPORT I LOVE WOULD TAKE A BACKSEAT TO TWO MEN IN PANTIES,BELLY TO BELLY ROLLING AROUND ON THE GROUND INSIDE A CAGE,WTF? ALSO, HAVE TWO OF THE BEST FIGHTERS IN THE WORLD,POSSIBLY TOP TEN OF ALL TIME(ATLEAST ONE IF NOT BOTH OF THEM) OFFERED 50MIL AND WON'T FIGHT,WHAT KIND OF BITCH SHIT IS THAT? AND TWO WHITE GUYS FROM GERMANY CONTROL THE HEAVYWEIGHT DIVISION WTF?

  • @rahaji215 The reason why Mayweather and Paquel wont fight is because Paquel wont take a dive. He has honor. Mayweather, Delahoya and Mosely should be indicted for defrauding the public. Its impossible for two fighters to fight for 12 rounds without either boxer having a mark on his face. The fight between Mayweather and Delahoya was completely staged. They were not hiting each other. Even in a sparring match, boxers fight more than this two criminals did. Im a boxer and disgusted with today.

  • @amazeinusa Mayweather was staged but pac clottey was not?

Hitting without being hit is the art of boxing, the sweet science. Something neither Foeman nor Lyle ever learned to do.

  • @amazeinusa Pac/Mayweather will not happen because Pac knows mayweather will expose him as a fraud and end his career.

  • The greates fight of all time. The only one that could be put above it would be Hearns and Hagler and only cause that was a title fight and this wasnt.

  • @bobber0623 Thrilla in manill is by far the greatest

  • @bobber0623 Great fight due to the excitement but actually very poor boxing skill. Can eitehr fighter slip a punch?

It was liek watching the two guys on the flintstones hammer each other with the clubs.

  • @Midnightrambler3760 Your an absolute fool! Through out the entire fight both fighters were sliping punches.

  • @amazeinusa If you think those guys were sliping punches then you do not know the sport. Mayweatehr slips punches, thses idiots are sitting ducks.

  • but you know NOTHING about Rocky Marciano. who was hard to hit;had more stamina then Foreman. Ali said was Rock was better than Frazier ! George only chance was to catch him in early rounds but even Ali withstood his pounding, and knocked him out ! TOO much hype because he is big he would have done to him what he did to 6'4" 220lb Carmine Vingo put him in the hospital.Marciano used to train on a custom made 300lb heavy bag - about three times what most heavyweight's punchbags weigh.

  • @ITALOVER2 Ali never fought marciano for real so how would he know?Marciano was a medium paced slugger with good stamina. never really fought a prime heavy, just big light heavies, even old walcott and moore dropped him.an unbeaten record doesn't make someone great, marciano was a real good pound for pound fighter, but the only thing italians are great at is selling ice cream........

  • YOU GUYS may think you know boxing and anyone knows that bigger does NOT mean badder . . that's pure crap . .I've seen a little 5'5 Phillipino kick the shit out a big 6'2" bouncer muscle bound jarhead .. broke his nose with one flying kick . .so that is rubbish; big guys get the shit kicked out of them by tough smaller guys who have lower center of gravity . . so that is just plain WRONG ! George loved Rock and was in awe of him too . .he said "He was relentless"

  • @ITALOVER2 Size does matter if both fighters are good. The good big man wil always beat the good little man.

Marciano might beat some bigger heavyweights due to a mismatch in skill but to say size would not matter against a ture heavyweight with the skill of Ali is ridiculous.

A bouncer does not mean he can fight, just means he is big. Now try that flying kick against GSP see what happens.

  • Check out the card-girl after round 2.

  • oh man, poor Norton, constantly being reminded of being knocked out. No worries Ken, your a champion!

  • Sorry to say Foreman fans . .but Marciano would have had NO PROBLEM with big George . .who is overrated . .these guys are just big, stand straight up and Foreman could NOT take a punch like Marciano . .Rocky DESTROYED BIGGER guys because they are a larger target .. no doubt the Rock would have beaten Foreman .. . no doubt !

  • @ITALOVER2

Marciano was far too small to fight George.

The way to beat George was to box and move, something that Rocky never did.

Rocky could take a great punch, FOR A MAN OF HIS WEIGHT, but the man who was knocked down by Walcott and Moore could not possibly have stood up to big George.

  • @ITALOVER2 POOR ITALIAN BOY.. LMAO. FOREMAN WOULD ABSOLUTELY DESTROY MARCIANO WORSE THAN HE DID WITH FRAZIER. IN 1-2 ROUNDS. MARCIANO WAS SLOW,SMALL,SHORT, NO SKILL, NO DEFENCE, HE WEIGHED 185 POUNDS. FOREMAN WAS BIGGER,STRONGER, HARDER PUNCHER,HEAVIER, HE HAD BETTER CHIN, FASTER LEGS... FOREMAN WOULD KILL MARCIANO. NO CHANCE. CUS DAMATO SAID THAT MARCIANO WOULD HAVE NO CHANCE AGAINST FOREMAN, YOU KNOW SHIT ABOUT BOXING.

  • @ITALOVER2 Are you fuckin' nuts??? Marciano would have needed a wheelchair or a mortician after fighting ANY of the top ten contenders of the Golden Era. Foreman, Frazier, Ali, Quarry, Lyle, Shavers, just to name a few, would have crucified Marciano. He was tough, but he was lucky to have fought great fighters who were way past their prime.

  • the annoucner sucks.

  • boxing was so legendary in the 70s :D

  • Bear Fight!

  • 6:58, pure class and honor by both fighters.

  • That's a man's staredown right there.

  • That last round was only 2 minutes. Isn't a round supposed to be 3 minutes. It started at 4:55 of this video and ended at 6:44. That's LESS than 2 minutes. What the fuck???

  • @ExclusiveLM ,...but due to a timekeeping error the bell rang with a minute still remaining in the round , and Lyle survived. In the third,

  • No loser came out of this match.

  • NO CLINCHING JUST FIGHTING!!

  • at 6 Min 58 seconds WHAT a stare down

    great fight

    thanks for sharing

  • @peckerdecker , yes it was a helluva fight my friend.

  • These were the days when fighters were HUNGRY and definitely had THE EYE OF THE TIGER!!!1

  • Lyle was one tough SOB. People were terrified to just to look at Foreman, but Lyle went right after him!

Lyle has to be one of the best heavyweights to never win a belt. He would clean out the entire HW division if he were around today.

  • Two badass fighters in an extreme slugfest! What's not to like?

  • Great staredown. Both Big George and Lyle have melons for balls (and sledge hammers for hands).

  • ron lyle is the most under rated heavyweight of all time. he should have beat muhammad ali, but for suspicious reasons the referee stopped the fight in favour of a TKO for ali, eventhough when being interviewed after the fight, lyle had no visible injuries - he was winning on points!

  • @MrBumboclart

I have the fight on tape and, after watching the fight again, I saw that Lyle's legs had gone and Ali was hitting him at will.

  • THIS IS ONE OF THE GREATEST FIGHTS OF ALL TIME BUT SORRY ASS YOU TUBE KEEPS FREEZIN

  • at the beginning of the fight looks like foreman id trying to be like ali :P

  • My god... Cosell was right! That round only went for 2 minutes! Check the time... Round 2 starts a 4:55 and ends at 6:55! 2 minutes! Holy cow! I never heard that before!

  • Looks like both fighters are worried about getting hit.

  • can anyone explain who this fight or generelly boxing from that time, looks so much different than 90ies and today's boxing?

Compare Foreman vs. Lyle with Holyfield vs. Bowe or Holyfield vs. Tyson or Tyson vs. Ruddock.

Something's different, but I dunno what.

  • @statixification pushing your opponent off to create distance does not happen anymore

  • @InSightHawaii Not true. Tyson tried to push Holyfield all the time. Especially in the rematch. And then you have tall guys like Klitschko and Lennox Lewis who create distance by pure reach advantange and the left jab.

  • I remember watching this as a kid. It was like a live version of Popeye vs.Bluto.

  • ron is throwing alot of wild punches, but he did only stort boxing a 25. for somone who started so late the fact he made it this far in boxing is one hell of a acomplishment.

  • I think Don King put it right when he said,,,"it was a bad fight,,,,but it was the best bad fight I've ever seen"!

  • LMAO gotta love ron lyleee with that wilddd swing ahahahahah

  • "At the end of the first round, Lyle landed a hard left that sent Foreman..." it was a right hand.

  • joe louis would knock both these guys out in the same night! Louis was too fast for them.

  • ahahah 2 min !!!!

  • what an amazing era in boxing that period was! Even second and third fighers of that era were head and shoulders above today's medicore fighters.

  • @mpakwood well said...tragically sadly so. look how much an athletis guy can get for hooping a ball or NFL, rather than getting punched in the head ? easy to see why

  • @mpakwood ,These two guys (Foreman and Lyle) would have KO'd The Klitschko brother within 5 rds.

  • @mpakwood totally agreed. Quarry could be a unified champ in today's era

  • @mpakwood Check out the Ring top 10 from '76....Ali,Frazier,Foreman,Norton,Lyle,Young,Quarry & a young guy named Holmes...what an era!!!

  • Round 2 was only 2 minutes long.

  • yes, they realized that later.

  • I remember watching this at 3am years ago. A brawl. Thanks for the upload.

  • foremans punchs look soo effortless to me, almost like its just flowing though water or something. ive never seen anyone punch like him.

  • ye i know he like punches in a way where it looks like he doesnt even hit hard but if ur the man getting hit im sure its a different story....lol

  • wtf was that swing about at 0:51?

  • lmao idk man.

  • anybody know why there were so eager to beat up each other?

  • Honour.

  • :O :O :O :O !!!!!

  • 1-1 Wow this is a really good fight. Both these guys barely got good defense lol just pounding away at each other.

  • Lyle would be the champion if he was fighting now

  • is this the fight where foreman went inactive ten yrs after?

  • No, I think it was Foreman's fight after this one. It was against Jimmy Young.

  • @RonnieLeeDuck no, foreman fought against jimmy young in 1977, his first fight 1o years later was against steve souzki in 1987.

  • It was after Young that he went inactive. There were a four fighters between Lyle and Young including a KO of Frazier.

  • what a fight!

  • I love the glare at 6:56

  • @ freddage91 too fucking right.

  • 3:27 George gets clobbered!

  • lawl "Where is the guy that knocked you out kenny?" poor norton

  • @relevance13 lawl? jesus chist dude...

  • man at the 0:13 mark you could tell these guys weren't fucking around. Never seen someone look at George like that.

  • Great upload. thank you.

This is a great slug fest, only rivaled by Hagler Hearns

  • nice upload, really good quality.

Foremans punching power was just intense on rd2
