  • Always liked this song and the video. It's kinda silly and cool at the same time. Sonny Rollins makes this song timeless and soaring. Thanks!

Btw: Did you notice Charlie here. He reminds me of the drunk cabby in the first Crocodile Dundee movie. : )

  • @schultz970

  • Whats Barney Fife doing standing in a doorway in NYC??

  • I was only 11 or 12 maybe 17.. Great tune..

Those guys are so f ed up...... lsd,mj,mdma, ect

  • I was only 11 or 12 maybe 17.. Great tune..

  • cool video cool song

  • So wonderful song!

  • Always thought this was the best track on Tattoo You, even with "Start Me Up" leading it off :)

  • Always like this touchy tune ... absolutely superb :)))

  • I never saw this video before. Kinda gay. Good song, though!

  • Is Keef on heroin in this?

  • @djsmps No he is not. He kicked the habit in 1977 -1978 when he was busted in Toronto which would have ment the end of the Stones getting a work visa. But that's not to say he didn't do other drugs but he did kick the herion habit for obvious reasons because if he countinued the way he was going that would have been the end of the Stones.

  • @djsmps Is heroin a drug? yep think so ;) or is the sky blue..The Q should be more 2 the tune of in what vids is he not on smack in lolz an thats not a dig @ the fellow, Iv had my own demons, just could not offord to support them like him, so its not suprising he got so fucked up an being in that life style full stop!!

  • You guys just dont get it

  • Makes me laff seeing people taking the piss out of Keith for smoking ect...

For me this song is so poignant because the Stones have been so important in my life ,and post war culture, and this just touches upon their relationship. They are brothers.

  • Stupid song. That whiny voice..God..and people compare these guys to the Beatles? lol

  • @123jjcross ... Yep they do. With good reason too. Can imagine the shite to be found in your cd stack.

  • @HarryPowell7 Yes, they're a good, even a great band. But there's a reason the Beatles have at least five, sometimes six albums listed in any relevant top 100 list. Evolution. Stones: same old bar songs...

  • @HarryPowell7 Good job putting that shit sack in his place "shite in his cd stack..lol"

  • @HarryPowell7 Lollzzzz

  • @123jjcross your stupid

  • @MrJtholiday You know I'm right. Good band, but please don't compare to the Beatles. It's insulting.

  • @123jjcross You cant say that my friend. Each is brill in the own unique way..Personally im much more of a stones fan but can apreciate the beatels were brill also!

  • @wiccaress Just one more example of drunken commentary!!! Its cool, I do it too. Of course I always do a spelling and grammar check.

  • @cbmdg8551976 Yep granted i was havin a drink, as 4 spell check why bother wen thats useing up precious drinking time :b So wat did u actually think of the comment at hand? or the reply thats why we are here not for a English lesson, am i right ;) PS i dont have spell check an my spelling sux drunk or sober 2b honest! x

  • @wiccaress Totally forgot about this reply, but you are a funny cat nonetheless, should have caught me last night when I was crossed up as well. Cheers!

  • @cbmdg8551976 \_/__\_/ Well eres one on me 4 xmas an another \_/ cause you r on ere listening to better music than the Beatles ;b

  • @wiccaress Thanks mate! Cheers!! and a happy holidays Gonna take you up on that pint right about now. And I'm with you on the Stones!

  • @cbmdg8551976 lol x

  • @123jjcross May not be the best the Stones have to offer for sure, however they are quite comparable to the 'mighty Beatles' haha. I'll tell you this I'll take 'Gimme Shelter' and 'Sympathy for the Devi'l over ANYTHING the Beatles offered up, and I have a feeling the Beatles back then would have probably said the same. And that doesn't discount the Beatles catalog at all, its just the Stones had some monumental efforts as well. If you knew their catalog you might think twice about your comment.

  • This album was the one that hooked me like a drug on the Stones ive since collected everything they ever did..Thanks to Ron the Camaro drivin chick thrivin King of the 80s..lol

  • @ 3.21 , what a weird act from mick haha lol

  • nice raleigh

  • Sonny Rollins is the only horn player who could give Bobby Keys a run for his money on a Stones track! Beautiful solo at the end here.

  • @batteria89 Uh maby learn better English b4 u come spam my page with bullshit!! lol

  • oh please tell me it hasn't all been torn down to make way for condos....

  • its a little strange video xD they must have been on a high in that moment xD

  • ah the good ole days. for some reason this video reminds me back when i was an excessive drinkin lad.. but those days and good friends have since past.

  • keith looks so fucked up! haha, he rocks! tosh and him were tight then! what a shame they had a falling out!

  • as i said to dylan, blacks and whites do not mix as the music vid portrays. i'm very white (blonde/green eyes) and the blacks hate me but love to f-ck white women. grow up people. nothing has ever changed and nothing will ever change--grow up!!!

  • Beautiful tenor sax by the greatest tenor player ever, Sonny Rollins.

  • @FlattedSeventh david sanborn is the tenor sax player.

  • @jdoerner100 Sonny Rollins played the Sax

  • @jdoerner100 , sorry bud, i gots to believe it was Sonny. Did some research, it was him.

  • ok dylan, i'm not disagreeing with you on that, but i assure you that that video is not a representation of real life regardless of the neighbourhood.

  • i will always have fond memories of driving around with my buddies eating cheeseburgers checking out girls and jamming to the stones, always loved this number

  • Long Life Rolling Stones!!! Ugly

  • The building this was filmed at is also the building Led Zeppelin used for the cover to Physical Graffiti. 96 St Marks Place, NY

  • Long Live Rock'n'Roll*****

  • This sounds like something they would have done earlier in their career.

Great sound, reminds me of the West Coast for some odd reason.

  • He's so sarcastic

  • nice song thy are top band of all time no question

  • Made in the days when a music video did NOT need to rip your face off and replace it every five frames. I wish this early era of music video production were better appreciated.

  • @nobodady1 Yeah, your right I don't think video's nowadays have to be perfection...they got everyone doing cosmetic surgery just to keep up! This video is better as you stated.

  • Not a huge fan of THE Stones but I always liked the simplicity of this video...and the video made the song for me.

  • Makes me want to do some smack right now.

  • Strange I was listening/watching this video, and I'm sitting here for my friend to come to my place.

  • Nice insight Jeff.

  • @oicur2ys4me4i812 Thanks, it was incredbly exciting to see the shooting of this video! And I agree with nobodady1 also. Without a lot of flashy cutting, it tells a story, and also captures a lot of the personality in all the band-members.

  • Just found this video for the first time on YouTube. I was there that night by accident. I happened to walk by as they were filming (St. Mark's Place). It was around 6:00 pm on a summer evening in the East Village and everyone was coming home from work. It felt like the whole town was all huge Rolling Stones fans, and everyone came running over and stood and watched for what seemed like a couple of hours, with the song playing over and over on the street as they were filming the video.

  • @JeffFurmanPMP What a wonderful experience!

  • @JeffFurmanPMP Thx ...I was guessing somewhere up in the 120's or 130's because of the brownstones.

  • Those guys are soo cool I love this video!

  • Those guys are soo cool I love this video!!

  • "I'm just waitin' on a friend, who is drunk, and probably a little stoned on something too. I bet he also has stinky breath."

  • I feel lonely.

  • ~+~+*

  • good elevator song

  • Best Stones video ever! They just look so casually cool here, like we're just eavesdropping

  • Amigo é aquele que ouve tanto as tuas poesias quanto os teus blues e grita com voce no RocknRoll."I'm not waiting on a lady, i'm just waiting on a friend....

  • Stones4ever...

  • I was a Junior in high school. They were my first concert in 1980

  • Brilliant song

  • look at Bill and Charlie in the back ground at 2:57 those two bastards laughing and making fun of Mick n Kieth! You two douches are part of the same rock band don't puff up in judgment and laugh too loud!

  • @slowrollRod They're not making fun of Mick & Keith. Don't be an idiot. They're having a great time just like the others.
