  • Who has the syndicated "Archies'" theme: "The Archies' are here to entertain you//and their friend Hot dog is with'em too..." THAT VERSION?

  • @ClassicTV4U That was the opening theme to the syndicated "The Archies" show from 1976. This was the show that put all the Filmation Archie shows (up to that point) into one lump package and syndicated it all over the USA. Dallas McKennon (voice of Archie) provided the vocals. While I used to have the intro to that show on audio cassette, it has long since disappeared from my library. I have not run across anyone who still has it... so if anyone does, please let us know.

  • George Washington had his wig.

    Abe Lincon had his sholl,

And pld Teddy Rosevelt had a grin to beat them one and all.

    HA HA HA!

  • yeah wasn't he big strong dumb and clumsy and a amazing football player

  • Yeah, that was him.

  • I thought Moose already had an image!

  • Ahhh... but that's not the image the gang wanted to project for him since he was running for class president (nominated by Reggie so that he, as Moose's opponent, wouldn't have any competition). In the end, Moose learned from Sabrina that he did not need an image... he just needed to be himself.

  • What is the meaning of the song "You Need an Image"?

  • In this case, it is saying that you need something that is unique to yourself to make you stand out from everyone else. In the world of politics, all contenders need to have a certain "image" so that the voters will identify with and remember them.

  • Well i sorry must think trixie some one else....see bad brain i had...oh well Midge was....Moose girl man i forget...Oh well just been so long since they been on...like sabrina who was the 1st teenage witch...and well u know later disney redid same Names different look salem was red in 1969 n black cat in the 90's series!

  • Funny of all the Main charcters Big Moose was never in any archies song but this one...which strikes me odd wonder why they not ever did...and not even show his girl friend also which i believe name was trixie..

  • Well, this song was written especially for the Big Moose character. The other Archies songs weren't written for any of the main characters, with the exception of "Archie's Party". Moose does make an appearance in some of the music segments from "Archie's Funhouse" I know it shows him and Reggie playing the guitar (or banjo) in "Oh, Sweet Suzie" and Big Ethel chases him at the end of "Don't Run From Love". Moose's girlfriend was named Midge, and she was shown in a 1969 Sabrina episode.

  • Man i got a Minus on what said....Now i not any means was smearin u work on showin this...Just was sad when they redid archies as dull on Us of archies n funnies just killed them off...sad to me

  • I didn't give the comment the minus. Must have been another Archie fan reading the comments on this page. Don't worry about it.

For me personally, the Archie "craze" died after "Archie's Funhouse" ended in 1971. I just couldn't get into any of the later Archie shows.

  • Amazin video n stuff Um i hate tell u i was not thrilled with the Usa of archies afraid say...and later when made wierd songs like thumpin betty are verconia what was they thinkin...

  • That's alright, I also was not a big fan of the "U.S. of Archie" or the "Archie's TV Funnies" shows. Both of these were after The "original" Archies musical group had dissolved. They hired new singers to play the music for the "U.S. of Archie" but it wasn't the same. The magic was not there without Ron Dante and company.

Also, by the "U.S. of Archie" Filmation had started changing the way they were doing Archie cartoons. The cool background music had gone and they were using "stock" music.

  • Nice rhyme in it!

  • You know... with this being an election year, they should show this special on TV in prime time again. It would fit in real well.

  • The "You need an image, Big Moose" song never appeared on any Archie album.

  • Same for most Archie Funhouse songs...
