Bernkastel is the alter ego creted by the memories of Rika:

Hanyuu (like its said in Saikoroshi hen) revives Rika because her love Rika so much, then after reviving again and again and on and on, an alter ego is created, Frederica(Furuderika) Bernkastel (named after the wine that Rika drinks).

at the end of saikoroshi-hen Rika says: I am tired of playing as Bernkastel, and then is when she separates in two, a Rika that lives in peace and the witch that plays in Umineko.

I was talking about the novel, its a seinen, it have gore elements (in japan even the anime its considered 15+), i dont see a boy of twelve years understanding the schrodinger box, the hempel's raven, the vienna circle or physical and philosophy terms.

Wow... the game Umineko was sold out in 30 minutes when released. But the anime did so poorly, there may not be a Chikai season. It just makes me sad that such an awesome game had a anime that no one liked.

The anime was a horrible adaptation. People who didn't read the source material disliked it because they didn't know what was going on, and people who did read it disliked it because they knew what would happen.

Kon Chiaki is just a terrible director. Back in Higurashi, she skipped over so much that they had to get R07 on staff just to write an extra arc to explain all the missing plotholes ans oversee the rest of the project for Kai.

When you finish reading it, the "music box" opens and you an listen to all of them... and there are a lot so I won't list them all, but 2 of the most memorable for me though were "The Happiness Of Marionette" (Eva-Beatrice) and Dance of the Moon Rabbits" (Siesta Sisters)

Well personally i thought the whole "the manga is better than the anime" debate is rather pointless since it all comes down to personal opinion.
