First of all, Stanley has worked in the coal industry for over 40 years. He made his living and supported his family by working for the coal companies! So now this is like saying that he made all that he wanted to make and now he is going against it? This is ridiculous, Don't get me wrong, Stanley is a good man but Really? He don't make any sense, And the mountain behind him in the video that he talks about is a Virginia Mines! I know because I've been there a dozen times! GET THE FACTS STRAIGHT
I grew up in Kentucky, and have fond memories of hiking in Red River Gorge during my college years. What saddens me is that Kentucky residents continue to elect ultra-conservative idiots that are bought and paid for by the coal industry. I hope that Mr. Sturgill will campaign for some environmental candidates for state and federal offices.
The ultra conservatives don't conserve resources, they consume as much as possible in the name of greed! Maybe Mr. Sturgill could run for a political office in Kentucky.
I've seen the devastation on the Virginia side of Black Mountain. I hope Kentucky will save its side of the mountain.

Coal companies are threatening with permits? Lol.
Maybe a landowner owns some resources and wants sell them. Maybe some guys wanna have a job.
Why do they think they can tell people what to do? The thousands of environmental laws are adequate and companies adbide by them.

Before the governor is going to hear people actually affected they are going to have to come out like the people of Eygpt. Sad.

It makes me very sad to see this beautiful area being destroyed. Yes I traveled the area years ago.
It baffles me why this video is not featured by YouTube. It would be the right thing to do.
