Thank you for posting this. I too was tuned to KGO-TV at the moment of the transition. I was struggling to receive KGO-TV's last signal with a rabbit-ear antenna that I had long ago retired. I, too, saw the "we are currently transitioning ..." message, but when it vanished so quickly from the screen I thought that it was due to my failure, not loss of the signal entirely. Thanks for helping me to understand that my antenna and I were not at fault. A rather abrupt end for NorCal's 2ndTV station.
Wow had to *pause* it to be able to read the "we are currently transitioning to a digital signal please stand by" message. Guess they really wanted to get it over with.
