  • Put actual temp, not with windchill

  • -68C in North America? :-))))) FAKE !

  • @termogard No it isn't fake. I would also assume the -68C is with windchill, probably actual temp is -50C or so. Why would you think this is fake? Do you even know where Nunavut is?

  • @LongDrivesAtNight Yes, I know where Nunavut is located :) I also know that lowest temperatures in Northern Hemisphere are recorded in Siberia. Note : actual temperatures, not "wind chill" :-)))))

  • @termogard you are FAKE.

  • @paulsonjeff Why?;-)

  • Window seat facing the sun while flying above Bering Strait on transcontinental flights from America to China and Asia...it is still hot....for real, really hot inside 2 layers of window glass. This heat took effect thanks to the room temperature of the cabin. If we wear a lot in -80C and have something to eat or drink warmly, sure the Inuits can survive. But I prefer glass tunnel which can house sunshine and make you warm in the day time. Night time then I don't know. Heaters and woolen ger?

  • I note that in the norther arctic zones, sun still shines but it is still cold...it is same with 10km above the earth, it is -60C while sun is shining. there is no base for reflection and convergence, and sun rays bounce away with their heat-> poles are cold in winter. it explains why same that cold place gets scorching hot in summer, when the angle is ideal for ground to house the reflection sun rays and heat. I was enjoying sunshine heat 10km above Arctic ground. WIndow seat facing the sun..

  • sure, sporty flash out a few minutes is quite different from being in it for few hours or half day.

I did play a soccer game with my students in Xi'An. Snow was our grass, since normally, that full size soccer field was just sand, soil and gravel. We had a nice real game and at the end I had to take off my jacket although it was -15C. The pole cold is just a result of skew earth axis in winter, which leaves the poles and nearby zones away from direct heat reflection

  • -68 hahah morons you never see -68 degree... i belive was -30

  • i lived all my life in Mekong delta and San Francisco where have tropical or mild weather.

I spent 1 winter in Xi'an, -10C and Korea, -15C it is still ok, nothing special

My Mongol friend from Ulan Bator, where this winter went down to -42C I saw on yahoo weather, told me just wear more and more

If you wear correctly, you keep your body heat, and -60C would not be your problem. I don't know about cars in such a cold weather those. Maybe you can ride dog sled better. Or else, have car redesigned

  • @sfsu05 Trust me, even enough clothing cant keep you alive in arctic cold. You will survive for like an hour, but then you must get inside to warm up and drink something warm. Also if you move to much in extreme cold, your lungs will freeze and you'll get really sick.

  • Они -20 то не видели в жизне)

  • При -68 и таком ветре ты мгновенно бы замерз. )

  • Hoth :)

  • The record low air temperature ever recorded in Baker Lake Nunavut is -50.6C.

  • Holy shit, that's like death cold.

  • How could you prove that it actually was -68 degrees Centigrade?

  • @george12345691 because hes completely frozen and the fact that baker lake is in the middle of nunavut

  • why the fuck do you live in that frozen shit?

  • Doesn't look like -68. May be you meant it all together (temperature + strong wind + humidity) because it's usually very calm when it's about -50 and below. Besides I think that guy with his face opened would get a very serious frost bite in -68 with such a strong wind, may be it would be his last video ever...

  • And suddenly you see Bear Grylls in underpants chasing a white fox for protein...

  • why anyone would want to live there??

  • @zaynounSS because Nunavut is a wonderful place, full of awsome people, the culture, arts are wonderful.

  • Where was it again? Lake Numbnuts?

  • You should of stayed in bed looks very cold

  • Shortest clip I've watched today, but, listening to that wind, I was glad it was.

  • oh, my god. -68...owww

  • this is a retarded video

  • The lowest official temperature ever recorded in north America was -66ºC at "North Ice" in Greenland. The lowest of Canada was -63ºC, recorded at Snag, Yukon, and USA cold record is -62ºC, measured at Prospect Creek, Alaska...

  • @SolntsaSvet bravo weather man lol

  • for all of you that dont know, thats like -90F...

  • RALPHY: I CANT PUT MY ARMS DOWN!!!!

  • @TheRetardBoyz that was actually randy :O

  • HOLY CRAP!!!

  • Reminds me of the map outpost on mw3

  • @digitael2

    shut the fuck up retard

  • @digitael2 more like the mission "Cliffhanger" from mw2

  • omg that's niiiceee

  • i was in sudbury ontario and it was -55 plus the wind chill so i know what that guy was feeling. at that tempurature this just stop working. cars, buses, trucks

  • reminds me of the mw2 level

  • here in southern California, when the weather gets below 70 i pull out a sweater and if i dont have one i freeze to death

  • @jono28613 whimp

  • holy mother fucker, the guy didnt even get a chance to talk lol

  • @MrKaoVue would probably have got a burned throat :(

  • -68 is just sick....

  • I tried to start my new car last winter.-30C or so and this red light kept blinking on the dash. On closer inspection of this flashing light I noticed that every time I turned the key it would flash "FkU" must be a foreign car thing.:]

  • 68 degrees in the wind sounds more reasonable.

The lowest temp ever recorded in shelter (no wind) in america is -62,8 degrees C. Recorded in Snag, Yukon in Canada back in 1947...

  • @grimlund Are yo sure the Yukon is in America?????

  • @danthehitman741 No. Maybe I´m wrong....It´s probably in Australia....

  • @grimlund It's in northern Canada

  • @danthehitman741 Um, the Yukon is in Northern Canada

  • @ammarios I know where is at i dont think other people do......i went through their on my way too and from Alaska..awesome place

  • OMG!!! KENNY

  • how do you get your car started in that? is there something special you have to do like different oil, radiator covor, or just keep it in a garage and leave it running until you get home? do engines have trouble with shock cooling?

  • @ninjabob52 the last option lol 5s

  • this looks more like -30.

when it's below -40 there's usually little or no wind, and ice fog develops, so judjing from this video -68 is not the real temp.

  • @sabu85 there were -40 °C. because of the wind chill there -68°C.

  • @sabu85 good point sir

  • Mto lokoo.....

  • blows reach out& FreezeSolid an uninsulated 6 inch SteamLine! We took it back of course with Turbo Heaters&Tents! Anyone who goes to the Arctic to live & work needs to be Trained to Survive. The simplest things can really get You SeriouslyHurt or Killed. Shelter is a Priority, then some Heat. Cold&Dry is better than Cold&Wet. Water is 1,000 times denser than air so it conducts more heat loss! So if it's Wet take it off. Naked is better than Dead! That Vehicle becomes an IceBox when the HeatStops!

  • Yes, there's nothing about the place that gets that Cold that won't Kill You if You look at it wrong. Like not having the right Clothes, knowing enough to layer them,& having good Arctic Outerwear! I'm Crazy about Wiggys because it works. I've never been cold on any part of My body that I covered with Wiggys. You can lay down in the Snow, wake up buried,& still not be frozen, or Dead! If You've never been around this kind of Cold it's difficult to explain. I've seen it when the wind (continued)

  • -68 °C????? I DIE !!!!

  • damn nature!! you're scarry!

  • Dang it looks cold

  • The lowest ever recorded in Baker Lake was minus 51C in January 1975. This must be a wind chill reading, not an air temperature.

  • Ooo, that's really cold! That's -90 (MINUS 90!) in Fahrenheit. I'll have to come and visit Baker Lake someday, but not in the winter. I was born, raised, currently live and have always lived in Hamilton, Ontario, so I probably won't be used to that extreme cold. Here is gets to be minus 10 Celsius at the coldest. Right now it's about +15 Celsius, but I still needed my rugger jacket.

  • nice kinda weather to drive in :P

  • Temperature here seem among 20-40 - Not be exaggerated because the temperature such as -68 can lead to death

  • i like this weather i want life on sieberia

  • with the wind chill I guess hey

  • Baker Lake! LoL XD

  • hey in Wisconsin it was -45F it broke the world record for the coldest year, we had no school, my car didnt startz and are heater got frozen up from the wind that day it sucked dicked

  • How do you not freeze in place? XD

  • @Dodek72 drinking 3.7 gallons of de-icer everyday for a couple months "loads" the blood and nervous system with the de-icer. this stops them from freezing. but for the skin you simply need to just pee your self and then u stay warm (Y)

  • EVERYBODY REMEMBER!!!!! ITS FAKE AS HELL!!!!!!!! cause, if it is really minus 68 degrees, i think a gasoline and diesel should be frozen in the fuel tank hm??? And the car running and running.........or!! ihave one possible explanation: You have a VERY! special fuel!!!!

  • @ultimatesurvivalcz Liquids don't freeze when they are moving.

Air temp != liquid temp. Observation fail.

  • 15 people don't like the cold

  • you should go to beach and cool off very hot weather in nunuvut

  • u mean -68 effective celcius

  • sorta looks fun to me

  • That is a owned

  • I think Baker Lake is the coldest place in Canada, because windchills are sometimes below -60C.

  • i'm glad i live in Florida, and i complain about 60degreeF weather

  • @onlyoneskiez lol

  • @onlyoneskiez 60F is still T-shirt, shorts and sandals weather in Canada.

Coldest temperature I've ever experienced was -60C windchill (-46C without the windchill).

  • @onlyoneskiez Hah! Here in Phoenix during the summer, I complain if it is only 100!

  • "On 3 February 1947 the weather station in Snag, Yukon Territory recorded a temperature of -62.8°C, the lowest official temperature ever measured in Canada. "

  • @Doug1313 Tha's without a windchill.

  • Hang in there!

  • air being 78% nitrogen, and the freeze point of nitrogen being about 195 degrees below 0 it would be a bit more than 3-4 degrees to turn the air to liquid.

  • como es que sigue funcionando la cámara a esa temperatura!

  • your eyelashes looked frozen as hell

  • GOD DAMN, that looks fucking cold!

  • -68 C?!??!?!?!?

  • Now THAT'S a jacket!

  • Fuck !!!! -68'C

  • That's wind chill moron NOT the temperature. That's colder than the air temperature. That's kinda hot for me :)

  • I have experienced -30°C today with the wind chill and that was already quite cold for me ;-)

  • @Snow4everBHV dude are you kidding me, I'm freezing from 10 C above the zero

  • @MySanAndreas

    me too.....LOL

  • @Snow4everBHV dude, 0C is cold. -30 is too risky for anyone's balls.

  • The temperature was not -68 C. The record for that town is -50 C and the record low for the entire Northern Hemisphere is -67.7 C and that was in Siberia. Maybe the wind chill made it feel that cold?

  • @123mrkevind but still, it does not change the air temperature.... DUMFUCK!

  • bull shit -68, you cant breath in that tempreture

  • @LULUTREE it was with the windchill, but yes you can breath a few minutes a this temp, a friend working in a lab did the test to stay 4mn 30s in a frozen room at -80°C in a US lab

  • @darkdjo ow i see ya its possible but dammmmm -80 thats to dam cold

  • shit ! you could do the coldest star ever

  • Dosent the gas freeze?

  • LOL, you guys should come to pakistan over here we hate the sun which is up for almost 7 months a year with avg, temp ranging from 30 to 50C :P

But know i have realized how vital the sun is.

  • @alifaraz2193 : who cares about your country ?! lol.....

  • what's the record low up there? this must be close.

  • I Rather be in 115* F (46* C) than this cold shit

That's why I live in Arizona!!

  • ....ja im wind chill. ansonsten würden es nie -68 grad celsius geben. die tieftemperatur in baker lake liegt bei minus 49 grad celisus- im winter. wobei auch das scheissenkalt ist! :)

  • u shud be dead in that weather

  • HOW THE HELL DID YOUR CAMERA NOT FREEZE

  • Which route did you take to baker lake?

  • -68 Celsius? hmm, coldest airtemperature ever recorded in Baker Lake is -51,6 C..... strange......

And lowest temputer ever recorded in canada is -63 C, hmm, strange

  • @aabateri -68 with windchill! Actual temperature would have been less cold...

  • Wow... -90F... Wow... No wonder only around 32,000 people live there. It must be SO COLD! No wonder the highest population density is in the New England of Canada, it's so much warmer down there!

  • Comment removed

  • @Vorash2002 it means that you have to fly to nnavut but there are roads inside of that provice.

  • that's not realy -68C, because in lapland here in sweden when it gets down to -52c the suspension on the cars can break any second. so you will not be driving a car i that cold.... and add the wind effect on -68c that like -100c=you will not survive

  • @aabateri Where in Lapland do you live? I'm half Finnish and have been to Inari. I didn't think it ever got as cold as -52 in European Lapland because of the Gulf Stream...

  • @kaiboy42 i live in harads, north of boden... but i've got friend the live near kiruna... and when temputures drop below -45c you cant even drive your car, well you can, but the suspension freezes and when it hits a small dump on the road i breaks down..... :)

why do you live in America? Northern Europe (mostly Sweden and Finland) is the best place ever to live in :) dont like the norweigen that much :) haha

  • ya

    good walrus whacking weather

  • Да нихуя себе, это где так "Тепло" было?:)

  • I can not imagine how cold this is. I live in the UK< coldest temp I've been in was -8 degrees C. That's laughable in some countries, but i've lived here all my life and only ever been to Spain once.. :)

  • @SonicGeneration Coldest temp *ever* is -8C? Really?!

After a winter in western Canada, -8 feels almost tropical.

We get both sides though. I've been in temperatures of 43C in Palm Springs California, and dealt with -45C here in western Canada. I know the full range, and I can handle the full range. Extreme heat is harder for me to take than extreme cold. Don't get me started on humidity. I'm used to a dry continental climate. If I ever find myself in a tropical area in the summer, I'll die.

  • @captain150 Well, after last winter, the coldest temperature I've endured is -16C. I would like to go to Canada or Sweden and experience the brutal cold you guys get, but for now I live in the rainy, maritime England.. :)

  • @SonicGeneration Despite all our bitching, it's kind of neat. As long as you can leave the cold when you've had enough, it's an interesting experience. Also keep in mind that Canada is huge. I said "western Canada" in order to be specific. Toronto and Vancouver's winters are much milder than the winters in the middle of western Canada (ie Calgary or Winnipeg). Vancouver's winters are pretty mild and rainy. The winters where I live might stay below -20C for weeks on end.

  • It was -57 back in December, and I think we're on the same level as Baker Lake too. When people from other countries think we exaggerate, they should come experience it for themselves.

  • You know what's also unseasonably warm this year? The Northwest Territories. We reached -50 to -57 a couple of days back in December and already it's hit +5 to +12, amazing. The river ice will take another month or two to break up though.

It's definitely reasonable to hit below -60.

  • I don't know where some of you people are from but definetly not from Canada, -68 is totally possible especially up there, what ever you wanna say go ahead, I know my facts

  • -68 Celsius That would be -90.4 Fahrenheit. so being so far north close to the artic possible. as far as I can see Vostok station Russia was the coldest 1997

    -91 °C (-132 °F)

  • As everyone said, -68C is impossible, especially with such a wind !!! Ths lowest record in Baker Lake is "only" -50.8C : it happend on the 20th of january 1975. Then it could be a windchill (but this girl couldn't have her face without any protection)...

  • The lowest windchill ever recorded in Baker Lake is -71C, so this is logically possible.

  • NO WAY -68 ! You would not be abel to survive whit your face naked like that in -68 celcius!!

First your skin would hurt like hell (frostbite) and you wouldn't be abel to do anything, second if you breaf clean air inn -68 you would passed out on the spot !

And i very curious about that camera you used, i realy don't think it would survive -68!

    Stop lying ! Please

  • Ehhh...why are you writing this shit, when you obviously have no idea what you are talking about? Idiot, ive experienced -59 C in Canada wich its rly cold but u dont pass out lol and u can survive just fine with the kind of clothing this guy have.

  • Ok , lets have it. What are your arguments for not pasing out when breaf in temperatures like -68? Try to think about it. ?

Just think about it, draging down clean -68 celcius air in to you lungs !!!!

I do think your the one who's writing shitt !!

  • It is sooo cool! Why we don't have it here in Alberta anymore! I wish the old real winter back! Maybe I need to move closer up to north! Sorry guys but I really love extreme cold!

  • Maybe a -68.c with windchill but not -68.c air temperature. Even with very thick clothing on you wouldn't be able to last in temperatures near -70.c for longer than a minute. Anyway cool video. I can handle the cold and I like it I go to Norway where it often gets to -40.c and -50.c with windchill but if you think you can handle the extreme cold go to Vostok, Antartica where temperatures go down to -85.c in the winter with windchills near to -100.c then life becomes a dilema.

    :D

  • Wow, you're one of those extreme people! That's so cool. I want to go on an arctic expedition but I know I could never manage living in such cold places. I can barely manage living in S. Ontario, lol.

I can on the other hand deal with heat and humidity...does that make me extreme? lol ;)

    Have fun in Norway!

  • No I haven't actually been to Vostok but would love to go :)

Yes I hate the heat it gives me depression lol. No but seriously I can't handle it when it gets over 30.c and it's hard to breath if it's humid too. So you are cool for being able to tolerate that. You should try going to one of these arctic places though they are fun and you should be ok but just make sure you are well wrapped up.

  • Hey thanks, I will make sure I'm wrapped up! You should see me now...at -10... O well.

Wow, yes, I feel that winter makes me depressed, lol. It's not just the cold temps...but the scenery is too bland for me.

Yet I still want to go on an arctic expedition, mainly because there is something special about the arctic, and there is culture there!

Well, in the meantime I'm waiting for summer...hopefully this year we'll get a summer (although I'm sure you were thrilled with last summer) lol.

  • I thought summer had arrived early for you Canadians. Or is my Geography a little rusty tonight. Is Ontario anywhere near Vancouver?

Also yes the artic is great I have been to a place called Svalbard its hard to imagine how incredible it is.

Also thanks for "Have fun in Norway!"

    I will certianly try to.

  • Sadly Ontario is quite far from Vancouver. Almost the other side of the country... o well... I think right now that Vancouver is a bit of unseasonably warm right now, but yes it IS the warmest part of Canada. Don't even get me started on my opinion of the 'winter' olympics being held there.... O well.

    Where are you from?

  • what a friendly place....

  • Haha well im swedish, but it will not be that cold here, not - 68 celisius. But it can be cold, in the north of sweden it´s like - 40 right now, and down here in the middle it´s like - 10 - 15 for the moment.

  • lol, reminds me of sweden

  • well to do day im in Cold lake North of alberta ! (canada) and -54 to day ! thats just freaking insane !

  • cold lake huh. every person i met who was born and raised there i wanted to punch in the face

  • well im not born and raise from there so im ok!! but why that why they are so bad :D ?

  • by the way u proably like In flames :S whit ur name jestersrace::D inflames song from they first album !!

  • lol.

  • Gotta a suit that I can stand for few hours in that ...

Actually made for North Pole at -45 below.

  • 2009 was cold until August, at least in Western Canada. The fall of 2009 was one of the warmest ever for Manitoba and Sakatchewan.

  • Yes, pretty much for S. Ontario too! Now our winter is 'not bad'. I would say typical, and not extremely cold or anything...

I know that Saskatchewan got some CRAZY temps in December!!! Glad I don't live there!!!

  • It was very cold in Alberta and the B.C., too, but right now it's getting much warmer.

  • O ya, I forgot about Alberta and B.C. lol. You're right for the prairies though, they seem to be warming up for the week, and will be warmer than Ontario! (What is this crazy madness?)

As for Vancouver...it's quite mild over there now...But I wouldn't want all the gray rain....hehe.

  • O.C. Summer all year.... Why live in cold places when there's the beach, amusement parks, and the beach.

  • Lol! Some people would love to do that, but it's hard to become a US citizen though. Things like that preclude such options sometimes.

  • Heat is horrible... You can't do anything about it. However, you can dress up for the cold, and enjoy the snow. I could not live without that... There is no such things as tropical "paradises".

  • You can't do anything about it? You can't do anything about the cold... For extreme cold, and I guess extreme heat, anyone is screwed. Although I know for me, I would take extreme heat ANY DAY! (But not in a desert though).

I am always fascinated by people that can deal with the cold so easily, and who prefer the cold. It just boggles my mind...;)

  • I live in the Canada's Banana Belt so extreme frigid temps. are unheard of. Last December was one of thr worst freezes in 16 years and my lowest temp. was only -6.6 C

  • always sunny in the O.C.

  • We get alot of sun here too, but I believe you guys get a hell of alot more and it's very dry there as well. Just those winter temps. are a killer.

  • the coldest temperature in the northern hemisphere is - 77.5 degrees C on Mount Logan in 1991.

However it doesn't count as the official record because it was 6000m altitude.

  • in CHICAGO (I live there) it's been -33C and it's OFTEN been 14C in august!

  • Yes, this year 2009 has been brutal and a killer. I hope to God that 2010 is warmer!!!

  • why? A part of being on Earth is experiencing all the seasons.. Plus, it's nice having it cold for a change.. When your in your house with the fire and the hot coco.. all cosey. Nothing beats that.

  • you mean 34C and -31c in 1985
