Sonic Adventure is just a title. Sonic Heroes is a direct sequel with similar gameplay, and Sonic next-gen has the same gameplay (even if not a good story). If SEGA makes a spiritual sequel in the form of Sonic Generations, or any other game, I would be just fine.

Hold on, at a point in time, he beat beat mario(who basically had the title) in fame, and even sales back then. If there was a time sonic had that title, it was back then. Personally, I think sonic left mario years ago, his game are more interesting and exiting then mario's can ever be. Mario's new games do look good, just not something that internest as much.

I know, just sayin', but you really can't expect him to do so now in this generation. Many players are more into M rated games and may not touch anything less, anything that made sonic cool at one point backfires now, and now he can't do anything without major shit being thrown at him. One good example is the warehog, everybody says he sucks for no better reason that he doesn't fit sonic's play style, so now unleashed is just a half good game, with no really big flaws.
