@fishinskatinchillin Thanks mate. I was pretty happy that was the one that got on when the camera was rolling. The spot is unfortunately on private property kinda near Tatura.
Ive been catching heaps of reddys around merrigum/kyabram atm all good eating size(30-40cm). I will start taking the video camera and putting them up here.
Hey chris you wanna know a real easy recipe for cooking reddies in the pan....make up a batch of 4 parts flour to 1 part cajun mix that up roll the fillet in it then cook in oil in the pan!
@lennymcleanfan really? I have caught many reddies on spinners. I find it is better for catching the bigger fish. As kids, we'd catch them on hogback spinners. Maybe give that a try in your dam and let me know how it goes.
what i like to do is clean it then put some lemons 2 or 3 depending on the size of the fish in the guts, then some salt, and cracked lemon pepper ontop of it, wrap it in some foil and into the oven,......
i find redfin cooked this way the best eating fish to me. i cant get enough
and a top feed too. lake burrumbeet back in the 60's ( 1960's) was a lovely sandy bottomed lake and the reddies that came out of that were beautiful eating, 750 gms to a kilo were not uncom mon. sorry lake is stuffed now. combo of draught and pollution. my opinion best freshwater eating fish ever
awesome redfin mate! where abouts in tat is that spot?
