My hometown is right across from NK. A river separates us by only a hundred feet at the narrowest point. It's so close, u can see people standing and walking there. They offer ferry rides on that river, I took some photos and video last summer, i have them posted. U can clearly see the difference, on the 1 side a flourishing city, on the other side...nothing much.

I just saw a documentary on two of NK's elite young gymnastics, girls, 11 & 13. They train all the time, until 10pm, all to give their general, Kim Song Il a performance. They only get a chicken and five, five only, eggs a month to have as major protein part of diet. They gave 20 performances, and all the performers, very young, looked pitifully thin, even the older male gymnasts, who usually are muscular. Their beloved "General" didn't even bother to show up for even one of those performances.
Sad that China is sending back the North Koreans. But I get why they do that. It's probably cause they don't want to mess with North Korea and it's crazy Kim Jong Il. China's not far from North Korea and they might launch missiles at China.

One of these days something will happen. There is rising tension between the North and South at the present moment. I doubt there will be a war. Kim Jong Il is a baby.. he acts very childishly. But, he isn't stupid. He knows that if he declares war on the South, America (primarily) and other nations will declare war on North Korea. North Korea has old technology, and China and Russia aren't stupid, they will stay neutral.

i feel soo bad for them :( i was watching world cup NK vs brazil, and NK lost, i felt really bad for them...they must had worked soo hard to make it out here only to be scouted by others when they go back to their home country. They were so respectable when they were playing, they didnt try to throw in any tricks or try to gain pity from others. Most of the players from other countries usually make a huge scene when they fall etc. Kim jong ii is a terrible ruler..i pray for the North koreans

People recently make Thailand out to be a backwards country... the truth is thailand is far far better in terms of human violations than all the other asian countries around it. I think the Thais are scared to break their friendship with Laos, that's why they send back Hmong refugees to get tortured, raped, and killed.. That's just my guess and what everyone else is saying.

My hometown is right across from NK. A river separates us by only a hundred feet at the narrowest point. It's so close, u can see people standing and walking there. They offer ferry rides on that river, I took some photos and video last summer, i have them posted. U can clearly see the difference, on the 1 side a flourishing city, on the other side...nothing much.

This dear CK is doing something so very good, NK is so very isolated. It is as if the whole north of Korea is a big prison. They aren't allowed contact with the rest of the world, and no wonder. There might be a major revolt if the people there, enmass, had any idea how hard their lives are. I was touched when the father said that Laos, Laos, looked good after NK. Someone needs to kill Kim, maybe that would start the revolt and I'm not the type of person that would ever wish someone killed.

I just saw a documentary on two of NK's elite young gymnastics, girls, 11 & 13. They train all the time, until 10pm, all to give their general, Kim Song Il a performance. They only get a chicken and five, five only, eggs a month to have as major protein part of diet. They gave 20 performances, and all the performers, very young, looked pitifully thin, even the older male gymnasts, who usually are muscular. Their beloved "General" didn't even bother to show up for even one of those performances.

China uses North Korea as a buffer: They don't want the Americans in South Korea next to the Chinese border. Also they don't want any North Koreans in their country. So they send refugees back to NK.
China exploits North Korea in all their resources: They get a huge amount of products and give NK politcal stability. Sick...
