OMG I have never seen this video! I love the hell out of this song by Dionne Warwick and the video made it all the more enjoyable. Thank you so much for posting...it made my day!
@yorkhugo How's it goin? Yeah, a great talent silenced much too soon. Of all the great voices to emerge in the past 30 years, Celine Dion, Mariah Carey, Aguilera....Whitney Houston was at the top IMO. Dionne Warwick has always been and will remain my favorite of all time, I just prefer her timbre, phrasing and emotion over everyone else. Amazing to me how many judgemental people out there are more critical than sad. Apparently there are a lot of perfect people in the world...who knew?
@SpectreWriter Uhm,.....yeah, I know. What made you think I didn't? Me saying Whitney was the 2nd best singer in her family? She was. Dionne is the best female vocalist of the past 50 years IMO. that's why I say that. No disrespect to Whitney, she was amazing. Tremendous power and range. Look at Dionne's body of work...it's 2nd to none. One huge hit after another. She had so much character and emotion in her voice, amazing phrasing too. Bacharach and david didn't hurt either. Peace.
Etonnant ce scopitone (on ne disait pas "clip" à cette époque) de Dionne Warwick. Grande époque avec d'autres chanteuses comme Diana Ross, Roberta Flack.
God is she pretty ! Such a strong jaw bone. I could really see her as a model.

Dionne, Paris, and this song. Doesn't get anymore sublime and sophisticated than this.

Her spare interpretations of Bacharach & David's work is certainly the best IMHO.

@Waszma Uhm, Dionne Warwick is still alive. Whitney Houston, her cousin, is the one who recently passed on at 48 years old.

Dionne acts so shy in her videos. but sings like an angel, wistful and sort of shy quality to it also.

Nice touch with the trumpet complementing Warwick's singing.
And the background strings finish the touch.
If you take out the trumpet and the strings, the song loses all it's flavor.

She was so ahead of her time. People say the '80's was the start of the music video era...but this is 60's in France Yet!
